King Collectables Houston, Texas Saturday, December 15,2001 There was 18 participants Well lately, I have been on sort of a bad luck streak here at the tournaments. I have'nt been to the finals in over a month!!! I bring good decks but I end up playing the wrong people when comes to points. (The owner decides how goes to the final four by who you play.) Well here is the report. 3 onix (2 base,1 Neo) 3 steelix 3 sneasle (never leave home with out it) 2 chansey 2 cleffa 1 ditto 4 darkness energy 4 metal energy 3 rainbow energy 4 DCE 3 recycle energy 2 energy removal 3 super energy removal 2 Eco gym 3 comp. search 3 item finder 2 gust of wind 3 Prof. oak 1 Elm 1 balloon berry 2 scoop up 3 gold berry 3 plus power Round one: Me vs. dude with Steelix deck (Sorry, forgot your name) This was a game of energy and super energy removal. Every other turn we would remove some energies of our steelix's. I got my steelix out first with a sneasle and another steelix on the bench for protection. I had three prizes when he had four on the table. He had a ditto out with 50 damage and a metal energy. I used a gust of wind to kill his ditto and to promote his cleffa. I used tail crush and got heads for the double kill. A few turns later he had another ditto with the same 50 damage. I used my item finder for the gust of wind and the win. 1-0 Round two: Me vs. Ben (Guy with Promo scizor deck) this was the worst game I played all night. I don't think I kept a single energy on my pokemon for the entire game. He played 4 removals and 4 SER's in his deck. I never picked up a single prize! At one point his scizor did 110 damage to my steelix!!! End of story. 1-1 Round three: Me vs. Tao (Kid with a steel chansey deck) I really thought I would lose this match. He killed my first three pokemon. I got back in to the game by killing his metal chansey he had on the loose. At one point, he had a chansey double edgeing for over 10 turns. He had no cards left in his deck when he used nightly garbage run to put three cards back in to his deck! When he came down to the last card again, he brought out his cleffa out for one last eeeeek. I also had out a cleffa so he would have to pass the baby power. He flips TAILS!!!! I win the match barely. 2-1 Round four: Me vs. Edmund (kid who has a old damage swap deck) Although he was 3-0 at the time of this match, he was'nt at the end. He first started out with a Mr.Mime and a alakazam on the bench with a chansey also. I had a steelix and a sneasle on the bench. Every time I would tackle the mime for 20, he damage swap it over to the chansey. This was getting anoying so I gusted out that pesky alakazam and retreated for my sneasle. I killed his first alakazam. Before I knew it, he had two more of those damage swapers out in play. I managed to kill one of them but I had to let one of them stay. Latter in the match, I had a steelix out with 40 damage on it and two metal energy on it. The only attacker he had was a mime. So I attached a gold berry to steelix and knew he could never kill me because he could never damage me for meditate. I just waited for him to deck himself out. I win! 3-1 I finally make it to the finals for the first time in over a month!!!! I was excited to finnaly be back with the winners. Final Round: Me vs. Foster (guy with dark vaporeon kingdra deck) He had a pretty good deck because he used his kingdra to kill the competition. He started with a eevee and a horsee out front. I had a cleffa and a onix. He used smokescreen on me so I could'nt eeeeeeek. Finally I got out my steelix out for the rest of the game. He would never kill that steelix. He had only a dark vaporeon left with 60 HP. I put a dark on steelix and a plus power. I used oak to get another plus power but I did'nt get it. A flip of heads would win the game and the tournament. I flipped heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won $36 and my second tournament victory! I bought a box of Gym Challenge! Props: Me for winning the tournament Foster for being a good loser My brother for beating Luis! Slops: For the box of cards I got For thinking up the rares for the set of Gym Challenge Josh Herren j.herren@worldnet.att.net
