Hm, around 16 participants

I had missed the previous week of tournaments, and before that I had 2 weeks of really bad tourneys (2-2-1 two straight times) and saw my rating go down about 80 points during that.  Now for the last tournament of the year in Raleigh, so I'm out with a new deck and the will to do... um, better than I have been doing.

2 Resistance Gym (Gym Challenge)
2 Chaos Gym (Gym Challenge)
1 Giovanni's Last Resort (Gym Challenge)

I played this kind of deck at the STS in New Jersey and I did okay on Sunday (don't ask about Saturday >=\).  I updated the deck with some more tech and some more/different speed.  Basically, Giovanni's Machamp comes out turn 4 or 5, using babies or Chaos Gym to stall out, and you 0wn.  Elekid is this deck's worst enemy, so ideally, when a Machamp would be killed by Elekid, out comes Pichu to nail it.  Pichu will also work with Typhlosion VERY well.

On to the tournament...

Round 1 vs. Stephan H. (P/W Xatu/Kingdra)
This is a pretty random deck, I used this match to see if my deck was good or not.  A Movie Mewtwo was out first turn, and I was kinda scared, but luckily I did get out Machamp, it took a while but I did beat him.
Record: 1-0

During that match, Jake n00bleh comes around to see what I'm playing (I had bluffed my usual Erika's Victreebel deck to him), and then Ryan calls me a sellout (?)

Round 2 vs. Kwame H. (R Blaine's Arcanine/Slowking)
This deck is mean, and second turn, Blaine's Arcanine is going with a Slowking benched and I'm stalling out with babies trying to power up my Giovanni's Machamp.  Lo and behold, I got the Blaine's Arcanine and got 3 prizes to tie the match up.  He got another one going, but I got another one going and we're down 1-1 with a Slowking active and he's out of Balloon Berries!  Problem is I can't draw a Fighting Energy to get Giovanni's Machamp attacking! >.<  He has 3 Slowkings out and I never saw a Magby the entire game.  One mistake I did make was trying for an Elm on a few occasions as opposed to simply waiting to draw into it (I knew I had at least 1 or 2 in the deck, but I had about 20 cards in my deck >.<)  He pulled a Warp Point and I send out Cleffa and he flips heads on the Baby for Firestorm.  Good game buddy.
Record: 1-1

Round 3 vs. Crike, I forgot yer name (L/R Blaine deck)
Crike, I forgot your name, and you've been coming to Waldenbooks for like, ever >.< Anyway, a stupid Blaine's Charmander with Fire Tail Slap came out and I'm kinda stalling with Cleffa and trying to attack with Machoke, and he never flipped a tails, being a freak like that.  I finally killed the blasted thing, got his Pikachu, and then his Blaine's Doduo.  Win.
Record: 2-1

Round 4 vs. Jake n00bleh (R Fires)
I playtested my original version of this deck against him online, and I did, um, well, I hung in there.  I open with a Magby, and I'm stallin out against his Cleffa.  He got his Typhlosions out, and funny thing is, I'm hittin' him with Sputter so he can't Recharge.  For about 10 turns I drew nothing 'cept evos and a Giovanni's Nidoran F.  He's filled his bench, but can't really charge up due to Sputter ^_^ I killed a Cleffa and beat up a Typhlosion a bit, until it finally did die, then a Pichu came out, and after it died, ANOTHER one came out and I killed 2 of them, leaving one with 80 damage.  Arcanine came out, but then here comes Giovanni's Machamp =D It goes out, and I get a Cleffa and another Typhlosion.  He still has the one with 80 damage out.  So I'm down to one prize, and I draw a Nightly Garbage Run.  I Run my two Pichus, then Wrath to get it, and get the KO.  It was on time and actually woulda had a better chance going for the KO on the active Arcanine and if I missed would still have a chance, but to hell with it, I'm takin' the win.
Record: 3-1

Round 5 vs. A Pokemom, I didn't catch your name (W Dark Blastoise)
I saw the Squirtle and got scared, I Double Gusted immediately for a benched TR Eevee, killed it in two turns, Dark Wartortle came out and so did my Giovanni's Machoke, and then got my Giovanni's Machamp and got it.
Record: 4-1

If I hadn't gotten the time win against Jake I coulda played Ryan or Friedlander and have a shot at a rating boost, but oh well, we'll start again next year.

I won 3 Revelation booster packs, in which I got a non-holo Lugia (=\), a Houndoom ^_^, and a Raikou which I traded to Friedlander for a Dark Machamp since I didn't really want it.  I bought some more Odyssey packs as well (and received much smack for buying Magic cards) and got 2 Pardic Firecats, my third Muscle Burst, Holstic Wisdom, and a Mirari (weird weird card =\).  I got some cards I need for my cheap-o Sligh deck I plan to take to the JSS Challenge (no rares and it's pretty good!)
