The Monarchy(Dark/Psychic)
Team Meow production by Rob Z.
Time Warp Comics and Games
Cedar Grove, New Jersey

Hi everybody! Well its me again with another report along with The
Monarchy (A.K.A., When Slowking's DON'T attack). I was having a dry-spell for
winning, but came back. This tournament took place March, Sunday 11, 2001
A.D. There was 14 participants and it was a pretty weird day. First off I had
built my deck way before Sunday, which was different. I also had my cards
organized(sees some people faint). So before I continue with the day's
happening's, I'll write my deck.

Pokemon(17)
4 Slowpoke(2 Fossil and 2 Neo: Genesis)
4 Slowking
2 Sneasal
2 Murkrow
2 Ditto
2 Cleffa
1 Brock's Mankey

Energy(17)
4 Psychic Energy
4 Dark Energy
3 Rainbow Energy
3 Double Colorless Energy
3 Recycle Energy

Trainers(26)
2 Professor Oak
3 Bill
3 Computer Search
2 Item Finder
2 Super Energy Removal
2 Energy Removal
2 Switch
2 Ecogym
1 Bellsprout Tower
1 Gust of Wind
2 Lass
2 Energy Charge
2 Nightly Garbage Run

Alright the deck seems off at first glance, but its pretty simple but yet
complex. Early traine denial with protection from it at the same time, power
with Sneasals, and Murkrow traps. A tricky but really good deck if I say so
myself.

That Sunday was best two out of three DCI tournament, and I was ready to go.

Okay now for the matches...

Round 1
Me vs. Tim H.
Funny thing about Tim is that he doesn't have any vowels in his last name,
not counting y as a vowel. Tim was also 9th at the 11-14 category at the STS.
The first game was really a stalemate, until I pulled an Oak, and got
Sneasals out quick for a win.

Second game was harder though. He used Clefables in his deck, so to use my
Sneasals would actually be bad for my part, so I thought of the next best
thing.

I pulled a Bellsprout Tower, placed it, used Brock's Mankey's to gust up his
Clefable, and trapped him with Murkrow. He could do no damage, yet I smacked
him around and won.

Record 2-0

Round 2
Me vs. Mark F.
I felt sorry for Mark. He hadn't seen the power of a Slowking, and well, I
won the first game really easily. In the second game I actually let him use
some trainers, but still won.

Record 4-0

Round 3
Me vs. Steve T.
Well I knew I was in trouble when he got to go first, and pulled Slowpokes
out. I knew I wouldn't make it this game, especially with my hand. I lost the
first match.

The second match was almost identical to the first one. He went first, he got
out four Slowkings at once (!), and got out plenty of Sneasals. I though I
was doomed, but somehow, I pulled back, with him failing to flip one heads
with three Slowkings out.

The third game ended with time being called, so it was a draw.

Record 5-1

Well I knew I was going to the finals, since Steve had lost one game before
my match, and I had the second best record there. The next best record was
Bill Delaar, the third best in New Jersey, according to DCI. Bill is a very
good player, and has many times defeated James O'Brien, who got second at the
STS (11-14 category).

(By the way, Scott G., you guys know each other. You played each other in one
of the qualfiers out west, according to Bill. Just thoguht I'd let you know.)

I knew I was in trouble, especially since my Slowking deck still needed
tuning up. I needed to beat Bill to regain the throne of 1st place at Time
Warp. Team Meow had lost it like five weeks ago, first to Bill D., then to
James O'Brien, and it went back and forth. Well, let me describe the matches
first...

Round 4
Me vs. Bill Delaar
The match started out really weird. He had the game, but I managed to pull
all the material I needed to win. He couldn't keep the fight up much longer
so I won.

In the second match, it was much different. He pulled a Sneasal only, and I
went first. I got everything- Slowpokes, Sneasals, and even the Ditto for
first turn knock out, but to my avail, no Double Colorless Energy. Well after
three turns, with only one Slowking out, I didn't let him use any trainers,
which was great for me. I won the second game, knowing beside the fact that
my rating was gonna skyrocket( since I beat Bill Delaar, who beat James
O'Brien, who beat other great players at the STS, meaning all those points
Bill had acquired where now mine. MEOWHAHAHA- my own special laugh), but that
I had regained the throne once mine.

Record 7-1

Man was I thrilled. I did a little cat jig (in my mind of course, if I did it
in public, well I would be spending my weeks in a asylum...)

Well time for the slops and props.

Props
God of course! Jesus Christ, Mary, Joseph, and the rest of the Holy Family!
All the people who don't mock me for my religion.
My family I guess.
Team Meow of course!
The judges at the STS.
All my non-Team Meow friends.

Slops
All evil.
Jesse Clemente, since he's faking most of his reports. Worst part is that he
hasn't even made it top five ever.
Um, too much homework!

Alright thanks guys!
