* Our league is recovering from misinformation.

Our league is running through some rough times.  A lot of people got
bad information as to new times and dates, and we plunged from the average
16-20 people to 2.  Oh well...it's recovering slowly but surely.  We're
starting min-tournaments and everything to get back to the full Leagues we
once had.  Anyway, onto the deck:

Zappy Wiggly:
Pokemon:16 (12 basic)
4 Jigglypuff
4 Wigglytuff
4 Electabuzz (1 coming out for 1 RZ soon)
2 Rocket's Zapdos
2 Cleffa

Trainers: 29
4 Oak
4 Search
3 Item Finder
3 Rocket's Sneak Attack
3 Pluspower
2 Gust of Wind
2 Energy Removal
2 No Removal Gym
3 Nightly Garbage Run
3 Gold Berry

Energy:  15
11 Electric
4 DCE

The idea is to get out Wiggly attacking hard and fast first, and let Zappy be
a cleaner for the last few prizes...I found out very quickly that this deck
doesn't do well in one-prize matches...

Match 1:
Zappy Wiggly vs. Matt Gleason with Electabuzz/Charmeleon/Dragonite deck
Well, I helped him make this deck, so I knew it inside and out.  That gave me
a lot of advantages:  I knew he didn't play Pluspower, or Gold Berry.  I
started with a Cleffa and Electabuzz, and him Base set Charmander.  I
Cleffa-lassed first turn.  He did 20 to Cleffa.  I eventually killed off his
Charmander with Electabuzz with a Thunderpunch and a Pluspower.  Bench-out.
(1-0)

Match 2:
Same person, same deck
This was lightning-quick (pun intended).  I start with Jiggly, he started
with Rocket Charmander (40 HP).  I slap down DCE, pound for 20.  He energy
removals me and fire tails for 20.  I slap down another DCE (both were in my
opening hand.)  Pound.  Game.  (2-0)

Match 3:
Same person, same deck
This was a much LONGER game.  He drew a couple of prizes, KOing my Wigglys
with Flamethrower to get around Gold Berry (30 + 50), and his Electabuzzes
stalled for a long time.  With under 10 cards in my deck, I finally got off
one more Wiggly with a Pluspower to take out an Electabuzz for my fourth and
final prize.  (3-0)

Match 4:
Zappy Wiggly vs. Kid that was worth double points and a not-so-hot deck
This kid is only able to stay for 1 hour, so the Gym Leader tries to help him
out and awards double points to the winner and loser of anyone who plays
against him.  He had a 40 HP basic (don't remember what), and Electabuzz
killed it by Turn 2.  (4-0)

Match 5: (From here on in, all matches were 1 prize to cut down on time)
Some other 9-year-old (I'm not good with names--sorry!)  with a sloppy
Psychic deck
Granted, 9-year-olds don't have the best of deckbuilding ability, but he was
smart in some ways...I had Rocket's Zappy, he had Movie Promo Mewtwo.  He
kept absorbing the energy I removed off of him, and I kept plasmaing.  I
eventually got 4 Elec. down and Electroburned for 70 and 40 to myself, game.
(5-0)

Match 6:  vs. Double Points kid
This game went by SO fast I don't remember a thing except that it was a turn
1 victory with Jiggly, a DCE, and a couple of PP.  (6-0)

Match 7:  same as kid from match 5, but with a Grass deck
He started with Pinsir, I started with jiggly.  To make a short story even
shorter, turn 2 Wigglytuff for a KO.  (7-0)

After this, it was getting kind of monotonous so I played Matt in like about
15-20 or so 1-prize matches.  Most of his wins came from him gusting in my
Cleffas and KOing them with Thunderpunch and a lucky flip:  Mine came from
Wigglytuff and a Pluspower against his 'Buzz or my Rocket's Zapdos against
his anything once I got him powered.  I lost plenty of matches near the end,
I estimate I was probably around 18-5 for the day.

Props and Slops:
Props to my aunt Sharan for picking up Matt and bringing him (I get chewed
out enough for playing these archetypical decks against 9-year olds...if he
wasn't there I don't know what I'd do)
Props to Matt for playing a decent deck and doing very well, even getting his
400 points for his badge in 1 2-hour session (He had like 350 or so points,
so the Gym Leader, Steve, just gave it to him)
Props to Steven for giving everyone Happy Birthday Pikachus (!!!), which I
will be trading mine for 3 1st ed. Rocket's Zapdos
Props to Steven for letting us play 1-prize matches for regular credit, and
4-prize matches for double credit
Props to the double points kid for keeping a good attitude about losing me,
and not throwing a hissy fit like a lot of other kids might

Slops:
Slops to people who don't run 3 Oak (or at LEAST Elm...), and no archetypical
Pokemon on their bench
Slops to people who draw their cards 1 at a time from an Oak instead of
picking up their deck, drawing 7, and putting their deck back down (I mean
come on, we only have 2 hours!  The less time you spend shuffling and
dealing, the more time we have to play)
Slops to the kid who wouldn't trade me his Unowns D, M, N, and his Igglybuff
for the MUCH better trade offer that I gave him
Slops to anti-archetypical people, mainly that stupid Anti-Wigglytuff
foundation that shows up at tournaments

Until June 7th, when I'll be at Phantoms of the Attic for a real tournament,
see ya!
