This was the first Saturday that I had free in a long time, so I figured
that I'd try out my deck at the local tourney, I'd previously won here twice,
but this time, I was using my newest deck, here's the deck list:

Dirty Hay
3 Hitmonchan
3 Scyther
2 Brock's Sandshrew
2 Brock's Lickitung
2 Erika's Jigglypuff
16 Fighting Energy
4 Double Colorless Energy
4 Bill
4 Scoop Up
4 Gust of Wind
4 Pluspower
3 Computer Search
3 Professor Oak
2 Item Finder
2 Resistance Gym
2 NGR

Here's how the deck fared.

Round 1 versus kid with Elec/Fire Deck

This kid wasn't very experienced, at least I don't think that he was, or
maybe he didn't know how to make decks very well, he started out with 2
Blaine's Charmander and 1 Surge's Pikachu, he got to go first and used
Fire-Tail Slap for 20 damage against my lone Erika's Jiggypuff, I Computer
Searched for an Oak, attached a DCE to Jigglypuff, Used a Pluspower, and used
a Pulled Punch attack to knock out Charmander, he then promoted the other
Charmander, evolved it to Blaine's Charmeleon, (Which he shouldn't have done)
and passed on his attack. On my draw, I got Bill, and "Billed" for Brock's
Lickitung and Hitmonchan, (lucky me, I almost lost by an empty bench) within
2 turns the Charmeleon was knocked out, thanks to Hitmonchan. He of course
sent out Pikachu, whom was energyless, a one-hit knockout, my record was now
1-0

Round 2 versus Marc and his all-colorless Copycat deck

This kid always used Clefairy and Clefable in all of his decks, he had 4
of each in the deck, with Ditto and Gio's Meowth for a little variety, I
started with Hitmonchan and Sandshrew against his active Clefairy, and
benched Clefairy and Ditto, I jabbed his Clefairy for a first turn knockout,
he sent out Clefairy, in hopes of putting me to sleep... he didn't. I jabbed
again and drew my 2nd prize. he promoted Ditto and during his turn, he placed
another Clefairy and jabbed me. I then Gusted out the Clefairy and knocked it
out instantly, that was 3 Clefairys in 3 turns, (I was getting sick of
knocking out those things), he sent out Ditto and jabbed me again, I Oaked
twice, and even then had to use a Computer Search just to get a Pluspower,
but nevertheless, I Special Punched for 50, let him knock out Hitmonchan, and
then promoted Brock's Sandshrew, Ditto's HP immediately decreased to 50 and
it died instantly, my record improved to
2-0

Round 3 versus kid with Super-Scyther Deck

This kid was one of the best players at the tourney, also he was playing
a Scyther deck, which is my deck's overall strongest weakness, I started with
a lone Sandshrew against his active Scyther, and benched Rocket's Scyther
(oooh, not good...) I got to go first, I "billed" got energy, and Oak, I
immediately Oaked and got Hitmonchan and Lickitung to place on my bench, I
attached a DCE to Lickitung, and passed on my attack, he "Swords Danced" on
his next turn. I Gusted out his Rocket's Scyther and then retreated Sandshrew
for Lickitung, and "Tongue Slapped" for 20 damage. He decided to leave
Rocket's Scyther out and used "Shadow Images" I didn't have any Scoop Ups, so
I decided to take my chances with Lickitung, I tried to use Tongue Slap, but
it didn't quite work, he then used Blinding Scythe and took away half of my
HP. I was in trouble, it was a single-loss elimination tournament, and I
didn't want to lose. I once again took my chances with Lickitung, this time I
was successful, I got to deal 20 damage to Rocket's Scyther,(I was ready to
surprise him with a 2nd Lickitung and a DCE) but he then knocked out
Lickitung, I sent out Sandshrew, placed Lickitung, attached a DCE to it, used
Item Finder, to get Scoop Up, Scooped Sandshrew, and promoted Lickitung, I
didnt want to use another Oak just to get a Pluspower, but I did, it worked
and I was able to knock out Rocket's Scyther on that turn. He sent out
Scyther, and "Slashed" me, I was down to 50 HP, I couldn't let Lickitung
faint and leave my fighting types at the mercy of the Scyther, I attached
another energy to Lickitung, and "Slammed" Scyther for 30 damage. He attached
a pluspower to Scyther and then "Oaked" he placed a Chansey on the bench, he
Oaked again, probably looking for a 2nd pluspower (lucky me, he didn't find
one.). So he slashed me for 40 damage. I drew a Computer Search, the card
saved me, I searched for a Resistance Gym, and held it in my hand, and then
Slammed for another 30 damage. He attached a grass energy to Chansey and then
defeated the 2nd Lickitung with Slash. I placed Hitmonchan, put Resistance
Gym into play, so I was able to knock out Scyther with a "Jab" attack, after
that, all he had was Chansey, whom was no match for Hitmonchan. The game was
over in a couple of turns after that. My hardest match so far, and I improved
my record to
3-0.

Round 4 versus kid with deck I never got to see

I assume that he had a Rain Dance deck, but I never found out, all he had
was Squirtle against my active Erika's Jigglypuff and benched Hitmonchan. I
got to go first, and attached a DCE to Jigglypuff, and used Pulled Punch to
end the match on turn one. Erika's Jigglypuff is so underrated... Record: 4-0

Finals versus kid who'd won it 4 weeks straight

This was it, the final match of the day, the kid I was playing was good,
his deck was built to attack hard and fast with Wigglytuffs, he started with
Jigglypuff active 2 Puffs on the bench, and Lapras with them against my
active Brock's Lickitung and benched Brock's Sandshrew. He put a water energy
on Jigglypuff, and put me to sleep, I didn't wake up, but I attached a
fighting energy to Sandshrew, and passed on my attack, he evolved into
Wiggytuff and attached a DCE to it, then used "Do the Wave"  for 40 damage. I
drew an Oak, and used it immediately, I got Hitmonchan to place on my bench,
used Scoop Up on Lickitung and sent out Sandshrew, I attached a 2nd energy to
it and used Sand Pit for 40 damage. On my opponent's turn, he evolved a
benched Puff into a Tuff and then used Oak, he then placed Gligar and a 2nd
Lapras, and then "Waved" to knock out Sandshrew, I sent out Hitmonchan
attached a fighting energy to it, and then "POW!" I jabbed the first
Wigglytuff out of the game, but then came the 2nd... He put me to sleep, but
this time, I woke up and "Jabbed" for 40 damage again, he finally figured out
that Wigglytuff can't reliably take on a Hitmonchan, so he attached a DCE to
Gligar and Scooped Wigglytuff, then he Slashed me for 20 damage. I Computer
Searched for a Scyther and attached a fighting energy to it and then passed,
he knew that Scyther would be able to defeat Gligar on the next turn, so he
sent out Lapras to try and stall... it didn't work. Lapras' Confuse Ray never
worked, and I defeated it in 2 turns, within about 5 turns, I was able to
defeat 2 more of his pokemon. He sent out Wigglytuff and did "The Wave"
(which only was doing 30 damage now) And I was able to knock out the Tuff
with my Chan, he had no chance to win now, I knocked out a 2nd Lapras and won
the tourney. That kid's deck wasn't bad at all, it just won't work against
Hitmonchans or other fighting decks.

I found out that my deck is very good, and that Scyther can be a problem
against it, but there are ways to get around it, but overall, I think that
the Scyther thing may be a problem, and I might add some Neo Magmars or
Blaine's Charmanders to the mix (20 damage for 2 colorless energy), and
that's all I have to say.
