Hi, folks. Back with another winning deck fresh from winning my Zephyr
Badge in the Pokemon TCG League. Electric Rodents of Doom is an Electric deck
that is led by the most talked-about card in Gym Challenge, Rocket's Zapdos.
Using Plasma, it can suck up energy that was discarded from Misty's Wrath,
Computer Search, and Super Potion trainer cards. Lt. Surge's Pikachu from Gym
Challenge can deliver a fast punch, and 2 colorless energy isn't a bad idea.
Lt. Surge's Electrode is very powerful if you flip three coins to dish out 60
damage to the other Pokemon, additional 20 if the defending Pokemon attacks,
thanks to Pokemon Power: Shock Blast. Here's the deck.

4x Lt. Surge's Pikachu (Gym Challenge)
Raichu? We don't need any. Pikachu may do up to 30 damage and give Water
Pokemon like a Promo Marill a taste of its own medicine. It also gets rid of
Squirtle before Blastoise makes a scene and uses Rain Dance.

4x Lt. Surge's Rattata (Gym Heroes)
I don't have many Gym Challenge Rattata, so the Gym Heroes version will do.
Gnaw can do up to 40 damage if Focus Energy was used on the last turn. But 40
HP isn't good. It is left on the bench so the evolution is all ready to jump
out and use Double-edge.

2x Lt. Surge's Raticate (Gym Challenge)
This is the end of the chain to bring out a heavy-hitter, even though you'll
have to take damage. Like Rattata, Raticate can double its attack and fire it
to the defending Pokemon. Defender keeps Raticate alive and kicking.

4x Lt. Surge's Voltorb (Gym Heroes)
Lt. Surge's Voltorb won't deal damage to itself, so you're pretty lucky. It
dishes out easy damage quick, then when one more energy is attached, you can
do up to 40 damage with Double Spin. It's Electabuzz, and more.

1x Lt. Surge's Electrode (Gym Challenge)
With one more energy attached, Electrode can jump in. It's Pokemon Power:
Shock Blast, works like two PlusPowers. Do damage with Power Ball, then watch
as your opponent takes damage with Shock Blast. Use Potion though to get some
HP back.

1x Rocket's Zapdos (Gym Challenge)
No lies. Rocket's Zapdos is one of the many Zapdos cards who can attack
immediately, then gather up Lightning energy as soon as possible. Electroburn
may be close to knocking Zapdos out, but with a combination of its superb HP
and resistence to Fighting Pokemon, and Super Potion and another energy
attached, Electroburn can go on for a while. :-)

3x Bill (Base Set 2)
'Nuff said

1x Computer Search (Base Set 2)
Computer Search will discard Lightning Energy for me (for Zapdos to get
energy sapped on)

4x Defender (Base Set 2)
Defender protects Pokemon like Raticate and Zapdos.

1x Energy Flow (Gym Heroes)
It works better than any of Lt. Surge's Electabuzz. It goes slow, but it can
still get some Lightning Energy.

3x Misty's Wrath (Gym Heroes)
Even if you have to discard energy, it works well with Zapdos' Plasma. It
will get Electroburn ready.

2x. Super Potion (Base Set 2)
It's riskier than Potion, but if you have an extra Energy attached, you can
save some of that energy. Then the lightning energy from the Pokemon that was
healed can go onto Zapdos. Cool, huh?

30 Ligtning Energy
I won't waste my time for this.

Here we go. I will only post the battles that I won.

Game 1 - Rainbow Deck
Here's a deck with Fighting (such as Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan; ironic ,eh?),
Water (such as Marill), and Fire (Vulpix and Ninetales, he had Fire energy at
the bottom!). First, he led with Hitmonlee. Pikachu for me. I attached
Lightning energy and passed. He passed as well when he drew. The next turn, I
attached a Lightning energy to Pikachu, and used Quick Attack for 30 damage
(Yahoo!). The next turn, he passed. No fighting energy yet for him. Then I
used Quick Attack for an additonal 30 damage. Hitmonlee was knocked out. Then
he sent out Marill (50HP) who did Water Gun with enough energy. Pikachu was
knocked out, but another Pika benchwarmer came out and started to shock
Marril, then it was knocked out. I drew a prize. Finally, a Vulpix was sent
out. A couple more Quick Attacks, and I won the match.

Game 2: Another Rainbow Deck
This was a fast match. All I know is that Zapdos shocked Promo Mewtwo enough
until it fainted, and Zapdos was gone after Electroburning it. Pikachu came
out went against a couple Pokemon, and I won.

Props and Slops
- Props to the kid who gave me a Lt. Surge's Raichu from Gym Heroes. I had to
give up a couple NEO cards for this sucker!
- Props to the Gym Leader who gave the Zephyr Badge. He managed to round up
the bratty kids.
- Slops to the kid who wouldn't give me a Rocket's Mewtwo unless I gave him a
holofoil.
