Deck name: Energy Devastation
Created by: Michael Berkowitz
Tournament held at: Books a million in Deerfield Beach FL
Rules: No foreign cars allowed, 6 prizes
Attendance: 23

The strategy of this deck is to use energy removal tactics to completely
disable your opponent. The deck has built in cures for No Removal Gyms, Eco
Gyms, retrievals and things of that sort. A key thing that everyone misses on
these cards is it says 1 ENERGY CARD which means you can discard a double
colorless because it says energy card not energy. This deck also works with
evolution using pokemon breeder which will help for an early Dragonite or
Poliwrath. Energy is not a problem in this deck which is usually a big
problem because of all of its pokemon's high energy cost. The solution is
plain and simple
Energy Flow

The Deck
- pokemon 22
  - 2 Poliwrath - Poliwrath can dish out the damage with watergun while using
whirl pool for 40 which also makes your opponent discard an energy card
  - 4 poliwag - 40hp bad but it can do 30 damage and will KO most basics
before itself is fried
  - 4 psyduck (rocket set) - these psyduck are the best psyducks ever (not
saying they were ever something special) they can actually be offensive
  - 3 Golduck (fossil) - You can do 20 damage while you disable your opponent
and with a fair amount of hp you can stick around for a while. Golduck also
is more cost efficient with hyperbeam, it cost 3 energy instead of
dragonair's 4
  - 4 Dratini (2 base set 1 rocket) - nothing to say except for the face that
they evolve into dragonair and from there to dragonite
  - 3 Dragonair - like Golduck you have hyperbeam but you also can slam your
opponent to death when the time comes (which is usually once you have
something big down to no energy and 40hp and you just want to kill it
  - 2 Dragonite (base set) this puppy will be a nice KO machine if used right
and with a little luck. If you run into a no removal gym than its Dragonite
and Poliwrath time. With dragonite's possible 80 damage (an average of 40)
plus pokemon power step in it is always a surprise and quick KO machine.
Poliwrath can do 50 and has 90 hp, nice.

- Trainers
 - 4 energy removal (do i really need to explain this?! this is an ENERGY
REMOVAL DECK key words energy and removal)
 - 4 super energy removal (I will not repeat myself)
 - 4 energy flow (the ability rearrange all the energy going on is a real
advantage)
 - 3 pokemon breader (to skip the poliwhirl stage completely because energy
flow will supply all the energy you need for poliwrath)

- Energy
 - 2 potion energy (its an energy and heals 10 damage, a very goodthing
because dragonair and dratini seem to attract damage counters...)
 - 3 double colorless energy (with all the water in this deck you can't
really put more than three because the rect seem to become pointless energy
mainly used for retreating which in this deck you'll almost never do much
 - 18 water energy (need I say more?)

The tournament
I only used this deck my 5th and last battles because it was too perfect for
the situations
but the deck was also good in two neighborhood tournaments which i have
completely forgotten about so eres the two battles at Books a million's
tournament

Round 5 me vs. a charizard/Blaine's Arcanine deck
He got a second turn Charizard with a pokemon breader and a second turn
Blaine's arcanine.
I got a third turn poliwrath. I put an energy on it and then used energy flow
to take two energy from a psyduck and put them on Poliwrath and used
watergun. He put an energy on his active pokemon charizard?!? I added a water
energy to Poliwrath and used Whirlpool just so I could take the stupid energy
even though i killed it anyway. He put out a Blain'es arcanine and added a
double colorless energy on it so now it had 1 fire and 1 double. He used heat
tackle for 40 which was a mistake because it did ten damage to himself. So
what was the big deal? It left him with 80 hp and Poliwrath's whirlpool does
40 with the weakness 80. That was the end of him and since he had no basics I
won. Surprising how quick this deck is without any bill or Oak!!!

Last battle me vs. psychic deck
The battle was psyduck vs. psyduck but he was done for once I evolved it into
Golduck and drew a pokemon breeder to make dratini into dragonite. KO on
psyduck but attached an energy onto dragonite first. He put out a movie promo
mewtwo with one psychic energy attached to it and he said "What's the point
of using hyperbeam if I can just use energy absorption and get them back?", I
said "If you have no energy to pay for the attacks cost of one energy how
could you use it?" He made a smirk and I hyperbeam him into submission.
He put out his last pokemon a jynx. I used dragonite's step in and then used
energy flow to take the three water energy and put them onto dragonite and do
you remember the energy I put on earlier? This little plan of mine enabled me
to get 4 energy on dragonite in one solid move. I used slam and got two heads
so it did 80 damage which was the end of jynx. He had no basics so I won.

props
- Pojo for their awesome site
- for me of thinking up this deck
- my uncle for living through 2 hours of pookooman

slops
- the kid who used Blaine's Arcanine's heat tackle and basically killed
himself
- the dumb kid who thought his mewtwo was invincible
- me for not finding a way to add 2 Dark Vaporeon which also now whirlpool
- to all the psychic, electric, fire and fighting pokemon out there that have
such high energy costs which allows me to stop them before they can do
anything to me
