Hello, everyone! My name's Valgaav. There was a little tournament at Outer
Limits last Thursday! There prize was 2 Cool Porygon and 2 Psyduck Promos!
2nd place got one of each, and third just got Psyduck. I brought my little
Erika deck, Erika's Power, with me that day. Yes,  I know, I'm bad with
names. There were 7 other people there. There were barely any people. Oh
well. The ages were pretty varied, too. Forgive me, I don't really know the
names of anyone that I played against. Looks like some pronouns will have to
do. Oh, Here's my deck

Erika's Power!

Pokémon(17):
4 Erika's Oddish (L 15)
3 Erika's Gloom (L 24)
2 Erika's Vileplume

3 Scyther
2 Rocket's Scyther

3 Ditto

Trainers(24):
3 Professor Oak
3 Nightly Garbage Run
2 No Removal Gym
2 Scoop Up
2 Gust of Wind
2 Bill
2 Computer Search
2 Pokemon Trader
2 Recall
2 Rocket's Sneak Attack
1 Erika's Maids
1 Blaine's Quiz #1

Energy(19):
4 Double Colorless Energy
15 Grass Energy

Strategy:
Well, Scyther and Rocket's Scyther are two pretty strong basics that I
happened to have quite a few of. So I put some in this deck. They're both
very useful, and can take advantage of the Double Colorless Energy in this
deck. That way, they can do a lot of damage on the second turn. Shadow Images
is very useful, and Blinding Scythe isn't bad either! And the Jungle Scyther
is just great!
The Erika's Vileplume chain. They're also fun to use, and pretty good. I
had been using the Erika's Victreebel chain, but I thought it was time to
change it up. Both chains were very powerful. I decided to use the level 15
Erika's Oddish because of the power to attack on the first turn. Plus,
healing yourself is what I use the whole Erika's Vileplume line for. I opted
for the level 24 Gloom because I feel it's much better. Healing Pollen is
wonderful! For one energy being able up to 2/3 of its HP is spectacular!
Magic Pollen is great, too. If I choose to poison, I can do an extra 10
damage. I could confuse them to get rid of an annoying Pokemon Power. I could
paralyze them to stop an attack that may kill me. I probably wouldn't choose
to put them to sleep to often, though. And Erika's  Vileplume. The chance to
confuse the opponent whenever they attack me, regardless of what happens to
me, is great! Plus, Mega Drain heals 20 damage a turn, for the most part.
That'll make the 80 HP last much longer.
Ditto is there just in case I run into any fire Pokemon. They aren't
played too often, but the occasional Moltres deck pops up every once in a
while. Ditto's also good at turning people's own attacks against them. Plus,
it takes advantage of the DCEs.
Now, some of you may say "::GASP!:: Only one copy of a card in a deck!
What a fool!" I really don't think that's the case now. I can use Erika's
Maids to get the other 2 of 3 Erika Pokemon I need, and Pokemon Trader for
everything else. Computer Search helps me get what else I want. I have 2
bills, and one Blaine's Quiz #1. Blaine's Quiz is basically a Bill, but it's
a bit more fun.  No Removal Gym stops those pesky energy removals. If I do
end up being low on Energy, Recall will help Erika's Pokemon use Oddish's
attacks until I can get some more stuff.  RSA is really helpful as well.
Nightly Garbage Run gets me back what I lost, Oak lets me do some card
drawing, and Gust of Wind gets out the weaklings. Scoop Up is useful on my
guys that have been taking up damage, and usually very useful if with Ditto.

OK! The Tournament!

Battle 1: Me vs. Li'l Boy
This kid looked to be about 7 or 8. He had an Aerodactyl deck. This match was
very quick. I started with Rocket's Scyther in play and a normal Scyther on
the bench. I had 2 Grass Energies, one DCE, a Rocket's Sneak Attack and Scoop
Up in my hand. He won the coin toss. He flipped over...two Mysterious
Fossils! ^_^ He put a fire energy on the fossil on the bench, and said go.I
drew a Gust of Wind. I attached an energy and used Shadow Images. Then, he
evolved the benched Fossil into Aerodactyl. He then passed. I gusted out the
Aerodactly, put a DCE on Rocket's Scyther, and killed it with Blinding
Scyther. He then quit, saying he couldn't win.Oh well.
1-0

Round 2! Me vs. Older Boy
This time, the boy was older, probably 11 or 12. He had some type of scary
obsession with Cool Porygon. He apparantly was winning a lot in Victory Road,
and bragged about being unbeatable. God, he was annoying! I won the toss this
time!
I started off with a Jungle Scyther active, with a Ditto and Erika's Oddish
on the bench.  My hand had a grass Energy, Erika's Gloom, Nightly Garbage
Run, and No Removal Gym. He started with a Cool Porygon active and a Clefairy
on the bench. I immediately played the Gym,  I put an energy on Erika's
Oddish, retreated scyther, and used Blot. He put a DCE on Cool Porygon. I
drew a card, Blaine's Quiz #1. I used it, and he got Erika's Gloom's length
wrong. Who would know that? oh well. I got incredibly lucky, and got a grass
energy and recall. There is a God! I evolved Oddish into Gloom and put the
energy on. Then I used Recall, and Sporadic Sponging. He put a water energy
on Cool Porygon and used 3D attack. He got tails 3 times. Phew! I drew a
Rocket's Scyther and played it. I passed. he used 3D attack, and got heads
once. I drew a grass energy, and KO'd Porygon. My prize was Erika's Maids. He
used gust of wind on my Scyther. He put an energy on Clefairy and used sing.
It failed. I drew a grass energy. I put it on Gloom retreated Scyther, and
used Magic Pollen. I got heads. I chose to poison him, and I won! Yay!
2-0

Round 3! Adult Woman.
This woman had a rock deck. Huahahah! This was a quick match. She had
Brock's Geodude, and Scyther killed 3 of them. Then, she got out an Onix and I
Scyther killed that too. By that time, I had a fully pumped Erika's Vileplume
on the bench. I managed to finsh her off rather quickly.
3-0

Finals! My friend!
Hi! Wow, the finals already. That was quick. I was up against my friend,
who doesn't want his name posted. Let's call him Gourry as an inside joke
^_^. Gourry-kun here has a Psychic deck. I think he had an Aerdactyl in
there, but he never used it. So, the match began!
He started out with Ancient Mew (he has those backing thingies too) on
the bench with an active Jynx. I used a Rocket's Scyther and put Ditto on the
bench. I won the coin toss. I honestly don't remember what I had in my hand.
^_^;;;. I used Shadow Images and passed. He put an energy on Ancient Mew and
passed. Then I put another energy on Rocket's Scyther and used Bill. I got an
Erika's Vileplume and No Removal Gym. I played the gym, and passed. He put
another energy on Ancient Mew, and plays a Level 60 Mewtwo. eep. I got a
grass energy and did 40 to Jynx. He played Rocket's Training Gym, and then
put 2 defenders on Mew, and tried to use Psyche. He got tails, so the attack
didn't work. I put an energy on oddish and evolved him into Gloom. He got
heads this time and did 40 damage to Rocket's Scyther! I put another energy
Gloom and killed Ancient Mew. I drew Prof. Oak. I put His Mewtwo got fully
pumped with Absorption. I got another energy. I put another energy on Gloom,
and purposely didn't evolve him. I retreated R's Scyther (there goes my
DCE...stupid Gym!) and I used Gloom. I got heads on Magical Pollen and
poisoned Mewtwo. He used bill, and energy Removal on Gloom, and then he used
Gust of Wind. He killed Rocket's Scyther. I wasn't too worried, though. His
mewtwo's hurting, and he's out of basics. I sent out erika's gloom, and
didn't have enough energy to attack. I decided to evolve him into Vileplume
so the power would be useful. I passed. I didn't realize it, but by the time
it was my turn again, the poison killed Mewtwo! YAY! I won a tourney~
4-0!!!

Well, I got 4 Promos, and Gourry got a Cool Porygon and a Psyduck. We then
went home and watched Slayers all night. Good thing school was closed on
Friday!
