Hello hello all. Cletus here, back with another
tourney, this one proving suprising. We were playing at Outer Limits Comics in Madison,
TN. First place got a 1st. Ed. Charizard and only a $3 entry fee! Three
round of 2/3 to determine Top8, then down to Top4, then the Championships.
Here's my deck:

Doesn't look _all_ that impressive on paper, but
it runs smooth.
Round 1 Me vs. MrMonkey33 w/ Arcanine
Game1
Ack, again I must play MrMonkey. I had to play him
a week or two before and it hurts...luckily he doesn't see his Arcanine and my
Buzzes and Chanseys take some well timed KOs as my Mewtwo really does nothing.
Game2
MrMonkey gets a great start and commences upon me
a Blackout as I had 2 basics.
Game3
We both start out great and this game is gonna
last a while...we can already tell. My Mewtwos and Buzzes valiantly battle
against his Magmars and Scythers. His Arcanine comes out and Take Downs. My
Chansey KOs that and he is thrown on the ropes, deperate for energy. He
doesn't seem to get enough and with one card left they call time and I am
ahead in prizes. I win.

Round 2 Me vs. Duncan w/ messed up hay
Game1
Hitmonchan vs. Mewtwo NOT a pretty picture. I get
a 2nd or 3rd turn kill.
Game2
This time positions are reversed and my lone
Mewtwo doesn't even get Energy. He KOs me with a Buzz and Hitmonchan.
Game3
With about 25 minutes left, we start the third
game. I get my Mewtwo out and ready to absorption but I Lass him. He had one
Basic: Hitmonchan. He topdecks an Oak, but he can't find enough support as my
Chanseys, Mewtwos and Gusts of Wind are too much for him.
Record

Round 3 Me vs. Jon Huff w/Haymaker+Clefable
Game1
I take this game in 15 minutes via Mewtwo and
Electabuzz against his Scythers and one Hitmonchan that I see. Not an eventful
game.
Game2
This one he gets Electabuzz out and Paralyzes my
Mewtwo 5 turns in a row. That hurt, but I get Scoop Up and rally support, but
it is not enough. He wins via prizes.
Game3
Only about 10 minutes left so I take 3 prizes and
stall. I draw, getting a record barely good enough to make Top8.

I get paired against a Curry, I'm sorry I forget
his name...He had a raindance. I am 6th seed.
Game1
I basically see Electabuzz early and his only
cards that don't get KOed in one turn was his Chansey and his Kangaskhan. I KO
them without much trouble.
Game2
Same as game one, except this time he doesn't get energy. At all hardly. I win
I advance to the Top 4.
I play Zac, who was 8th seed and beat the first seed, Mike Buchanan. I am very
happy as I don't like Mike or his son, they shoot their mouths off and always
end up eating crow(usually via me or Zac ^_^) Zac plays InSaNiTy
Game1
I get Mewtwo out against his Dittos and Hitmonchans and take first blood. He
rallies support with his Buzzes, but nears decking and I get him by 4 cards in
my deck.
Game2
I get Mewtwo on him and his Hitmonchans scramble. He never rallies enough
support...
I am in the Championships, and am guaranteed 2nd, which gets a 1st ed. non
holo Dark Charizard.
Jon Huff and MrMonkey are STILL playing a Top8 game and after an hour and a
half Jon quits, he has customers and needs to get to some real work. MrMonkey
plays Jon Curry in the Semi-Finals. I eat :) Jon pulls off 2 wins over 2 hours
and it is me vs. him.
Championships
Me vs. Jon Curry w/Rockets Scyther/Hitmonchan hay thingy
Game1
I basically get all the cards I needed, but so did he. My Mewtwos and Buzzes
attack his Hitmonchans and other non colorless basics respectively. I draw all
prizes on him with him having 1 left. Close game. ::whew::
Game2
I get a Buzz open to his Erika's Dratini. I have 2 Bill which yields a
Chansey, a 2nd DCE, and a goop gas. I attach DCE to Chansey. For some reason
he Gusts my Chansey up(doesn't matter, I had Scoop). I guess he wasn't
thinking. He knew I had Goop in here. He plays and energy and says go. I DCE,
Goop Gas, and KO for the game. 2nd turn KOs are stupid...
I win the Charizard. :) eBay is my friend if next week I can't get alot of
store credit...oh well :)
Props
Props to Zac for doing great with a deck he hadn't tested with Electabuzzes in
before the game.
Props to Outer Limits for a 1st. Ed. Charizard prize. You don't see too many
of those now a days...
Props to the place that I got Hamburgers at...mmm...beef...
Slops
Slops to Outer Limits: Tourney started at 2:30PM...it ended at 8:30 PM...tsk
tsk...TIME LIMITS PEOPLE, TIME LIMITS!
Slops Duncan who cheated...yeah you did, me an' Jon caught you...
Slops to the little dies I bought for Damage counters...they have a 0 side and
its hard to find the 3 for some reason =P
