20 total participants

I had come to Outer Limits a week before and knew the environment. Over 95% of the people played simple haymakers, almost all of which contained Hitmonchan, Ditto, and MP Mewtwo, or some sort of Psychic Pokemon. The first time I played Arcanine. Today I packed an Anti-Haymaker I had made the night before.

Strategy:
MP Mewtwo+Lass first turn. Electabuzz for colorlesses and Chansey for quick blackouts.

We had to play best two out of three and after three rounds of this, the Top8 played, then the Top4, then the Championship.

Round 1 vs Jon (Fighting/Colorless)
Jon is a very good player, and instead of playing his staple hay/potpourri or wigglytuff, he packed Dragonair and Hitmonchan, and used Scyther and Dodrio for retreating. First game, I go off with Mewtwo and claim 3 prizes. Electabuzz and Chansey shine through when his Dragonair shows up and I claim a blackout win. In the second game he never gets going, but I do. After some attempted stalling I see a tech card---Porygon(Rocket). It is his last basic and Chansey has one DCE on him already. I Computer Search for the other and KO the Porygon. I go 2-0 for the first round.

Record 2-0

Round 2 vs Mike using old school hay
He still uses Farfetch'd and after seeing my Electabuzz, he realizes he has no chance. I get a quick KO and its over by turn 2. In the next game, I get Mewtwo before Electabuzz and KO five Pokemon before he runs out of basics. In both games, he didn't take any prizes.

Record 4-0

Round 3 vs Mike's Son(cannot remember name)
Everything in his deck is weak to Psy and I get Mewtwo and Lass combo on the first turn. He has no chance and doesn't even get to do damage. Same exact second game, but he lasts for 4 Pokemon this time before conceding defeat.

Record 6-0

I made Top Seed and therefore had to play the eighth seed.

Top8 vs. Zac with InSaNiTy
Zac is my cousin and is a very good player. I playtested against him all night before and he beat me 3 times out of 4. I was worried, since I knew his Fossil Magmars would give me trouble. He slaughters my Mewtwos via Ditto and GOW and his Magmars make sure I cannot attack...ever. He takes 6 unanswered prizes. Wow...the second game is close. I get prizes evened to 1-1 and I have 2 cards left in my deck. He has damage on his last Magmar and smokescreens. I have 20 HP left but either way I have to flip for the game. Psyburn....HEADS! I barely pull of the win. The last game wasn't great, since his Hitmonchans and Dittos fall prey to my Mewtwo lock and his Magmars can't do much when he runs low of energy. I get a blackout.

I go to play in the semi-finals.

Semi-Finals vs. Mike's Son
Now, many of you know MrMonkey33 from the Pojo chat, and sadly, MrMonkey lost to this guy in some freaky flips and screwed up calls so I get to play this kid again. I don't think its worth typing 2 games that lasted 3 minutes total. Mewtwo is too much for an entire deck weak to psy.

Finals...

Finals vs. Duncan with Potpourri-ish hay

I told him I would split...14 packs a piece, but he is stubborn, and he didn't know what I played. Only my friends did and I only played Zac out of them. He packs Hitmonchan, Rocket's Hitmonchan, Electabuzz, Scyther and Fossil Magmar but he also plays Gambler and Recycle...don't ask me how he got this far... I get some quick KOs via GOW and Mewtwo and my Chansey KOs his last Magmar. In the second game, Mewtwo and Chansey again Prevail.

I win 18 Gym1 packs. I am happy. Nothing great though. I traded off a Rocket's Scyther and a Rocket's Trap for some stuff I needed. Oh, well, lots of trading fodder.

Props and Slops
Props to Zac for being the ONLY person to beat me all day.

Props to MrMonkey for...uhh...laughing.

Props to William since he has cool music to listen to when you are standing around.

Slops to William for eating before the tournament(I couldn't eat and didn't till nearly 7:30...the tourney started at 2:00...grr...)

Slops to Mike and his son for acting like they were the greatest players on earth.

Slops to Duncan who is loud...VERY loud...

Thanks for Reading!!
