Zap! 8 (Electric/Psychic types)
    by Michigan Dude
    Toys 'R' Us
    Portage, MI
About 24 people were there, there were six different "Leagues"
there were also four people in each league. I had to battle three before
the "League Championship"
This Toys 'R' Us likes to make up its own things.
    Oh yeah, one loss elimination.

    Pokemon:
1 base Zapdos (probably best bird by attack and HP)
1 fossil Zapdos (another good version of base)
2 Electabuzz (must have in every electric deck!)
1 rocket Voltorb (yet another 20 on one Pokemon)
    1 Mr. Mime (duh)
1 rocket Abra (pretty good, I mean, for an Abra)
2 base Abra (not quite as good)
2 base Kadabra (50 on three, pretty nice!)
1 Alakazam (Damage Swap onto Chansey)
1 base Mewtwo (Psychic is all right!)
1 movie promo Mewtwo (must need for any psychic deck)
2 base Charmander (great basic, that evolves too)
    1 rocket Charmander (see Voltorb)
2 base Charmeleon (great on HP, and attack)
1 base Charizard (the Mother Lode of damage, and HP!!)
1 Chansey (Not just for Damage Swap and stalling!)
1 pokedex (Kind of like seeing the future)
2 bill (draw 2, need I say more?)
2 potion (Small, but who says damage counters have to be worth 10?!?!?)
2 lass (kicks butt, make sure you dont have any trainers)
    1 super potion (strong healer)
2 Computer Search (find it, pronto!)
    14 Electric Energy
    14 Psychic Energy

    Round 1:
Zap! 8 vs. The Green Monster (he likes the Red Sox)
This kid was easier than the overall best. He pulled out an Oddish, and
then switched it with Bulbasaur, I knew right then, why he called it The
Green Monster. He HAD to have had Venasaur AND Vileplume! Anyway, his Gloom
took out my Charmander, after I did 60, so I called out Charmeleon, with a
Mew on the bench I knew I had a very good chance, and I KOed his Gloom with
one fellow swoop! During my next turn I evolved Charmeleon into Charizard,
knew I would need some extra energy so I spent the last couple turns
attaching energy, getting ready for what I knew had to be Venasaur! So after
I took out his Venasaur, and drew my fifth prize, I  got promo Mewtwo, he
sent out Dark Weezing, but it was too late for him, I took him out with Mew,
and won.
    Round 2
Zap! 8 vs. The Rock Bottom
This one was a little tougher, he decided to do it "Cream Puff Style" We
only had three prizes! I suspect that was how he won his last battle, his
Pokemon wouldnt   last long in the long run. I am soooooooo glad that I drew
both fossil and base Zapdos along with five energy cards, I sent out fossil
to stall while I attached energy to base Zapdos. After he took out fossil, I
put out base Zapdos. I took out his first two Pokemon in only two attacks,
not hurting myself at all! Then he put out Golem! I was glad that I resist
him. I knew that he couldnt Self-Destruct, and he couldnt take me out in a
total of 1 or 2 turns, it would take him 3. Then, before which attack I
decided to use, I thought, Thunder could take Zapdos down faster. Hmm........
That was when I noticed that Golem does not resist Electric!!!! Not one
bit!!! Quickly glancing at my prizes, I remembered that we only had three
prizes, I had two and he had one. I used Thunderbolt, for the win, and to get
rid of all that stress!
Round 3 East League Finals (I was in East League)
    Zap! 8 vs. Psycho Fights
This one would seem to be one of the hardest but it wasnt, even though I
had to go up against my own weakness. I used promo Mewtwo, Charmander family,
and energy. Mewtwo took out two Pokemon, and I couldnt seem to find andy
Pokemon. The prizes I got were Charizard and Charmeleon! I evolved them
fully, and took out three more prizes. It came down to a full heath Alakazam
against a Charizard with 40 HP left, and nothing but a fire energy in my
hand, he went first, but had absolutly no chance, I took this one easily!
    Championship Series
    League Series
    Zap! 8 vs. Rain Dance
He only had two prizes and I took out his Blastoise and Lapras, no sweat,
he only took out my first Pokemon, Charmander.
    League Chamionship Series
Zap! 8 vs. Clear Window (can you tell what color this deck was?
Colorless!)
He had nothing but Chanseys, Clefairy and Clefable, and lots of
Kangaskhan! His deck got easy to take after I took all his Chanseys out with
Mewtwo, and base Zapdos. Then I just Fire Spinned for the win, this had to be
the second easiest, besides the last one.
Store Championship, this match had a whole bunch of people watching.
    Zap! 8 vs. Zap!
This was the hardest I have ever faced. Charizard took out five people,
no sweat, and then was taken out by a Raichu. I had  four more prizes to
spare, but I didnt know that he wins like this. He took out everybody, I had
only one prize to spare, but that was when Chansey, who I never needed, or
didnt ever draw, came out, I thought I would need her. I came through it with
a great Double-Edge attack, for the win!!!!!

See????? Didnt you read earlier in this article that Chansey wasnt just
for Damage Swap and stalling? Well now youll know!!!!!

I won my Volcano Badge and:
Four packs, which I am actually trying to sell my cards, I gave to some
kid.
    And Twenty bucks.

    Props to:
    my sister for taking me.
