About 40 people showed up

This is my first killer deck report.  You know how so many decks have 25-30
trainers in it?  Mine has only 13.  This deck had a 7 game win streak before
going to the league today.  Some people thought my deck was pretty weak, but I
proved a lot of them wrong later.

Blast Off! Deck v1.0

Energy:
26 Fire Energy

Pokémon:
1 Chansey
1 Kangaskhan
2 Dodrio
3 Doduo
1 Ninetales
3 Vulpix
3 Magmar
3 Arcanine
4 Growlithe

Trainer:
1 Pokémon Trader
2 Bill
2 Challenge!
2 Nightly Garbage Run
3 Gust of Wind
3 PlusPower

Match 1:
Blast Off! vs. my sis Kathy w/ Water/Grass Deck
I don't remember much about this match, but she didn't have much out during
that game and Ninetales took care of what was there...
1-0

Match 2:
Blast Off! vs. my sis Kathy w/ Water/Grass Deck (again)
This match went by real quick. I got Growlithe evolved into Arcanine on the
third turn while benched.  Then, I retreated my Dodrio, which I evolved on the
second turn, and used Flamethrower to take out a Squirtle.  The next turn, I
took out the other Squirtle she had and won since she had no Pokémon on her
bench.
2-0

Match 3:
Blast Off! vs. my friend Carl w/ Fire/Grass Deck
Another quick match, Carl only had one Magmar out and I took it out with my
Magmar in 3 turns.
3-0

Match 4:
Blast Off! vs. my friend Carl w/ Fire/Grass Deck (again)
This one was an entertaining match.  I tried to stall at the start with
Kangaskhan, while getting a Growlithe and a Vulpix pumped up.  Carl had an
Ekans at the start, and during the 2nd turn, he evolved it to Dark Arbok, and
began taking out my Vulpix.  I wasn't getting any energy to retreat Kangaskhan,
so he was able to take it out.  He eventually took the Growlithe out as well.
After a few turns though, I retreated Kangaskhan and sent Magmar out, defeating
the Dark Arbok.  Soon after that I got another Vulpix evolved into Ninetales
and took out 3 pokémon.  He ran out of basics, so another victory for me!
4-0

Match 5:
Blast Off! vs. kid w/ Fighting Deck
Before this match, another kid asked if I had a Charizard in my deck, I said
no, and he replied, "That deck's weak!".  Doduo/Dodrio came in real handy
during this game.  He couldn't get any damage with his Hitmonchan until the 4th
turn.  Right when he was about to defeat Dodrio, I retreated it and put Chansey
in.  This really annoyed him; I could tell by the look on his face.  Meanwhile
I got both an Arcanine and a Ninetales pumped, then destroyed his Hitmonchan,
Machoke, and 2 Primeape.  He was out of Pokémon after that.
5-0

Match 6:
Blast Off! vs. kid w/ Psychic/Colorless Deck
This was my toughest match of the day.  He had 3 Mr. Mimes out. It took a
while, a Vulpix and two Growlithes later, the Mr. Mimes were all defeated, and
that left him very vulnerable to my Ninetales.  It's too bad Erika's Dratini's
power only applies to basic Pokémon, otherwise, I'd have been screwed.  A
couple of Fire Blasts later, I was victorious.  I do consider myself lucky
though, he had only 1 prize left.
6-0

Match 7:
Blast Off! vs. gym leader Armand w/ Rain Dance Deck
If I won this match, then I would get a prerelease first edition holo Fossil
Aerodactyl.  This match started slow at first; his Rocket Squirtle vs. my
Doduo.  I knew he was getting ready to bring a Dark Blastoise out, but I didn't
let that happen.  I quickly got my Ninetales out, and Gusted Dark Wartortle out
and Blasted it to shreds.  After that, it was smooth sailing.  He said after
the match that I earned it.
7-0

Match 8:
Blast Off! vs. gym leader Armand w/ Wigglymaker Deck
There were three gym leaders there, but one of them was busy with another
opponent, and the other didn't want to play me because I had destroyed him the
last week (#2 and 3 on my win streak), so Armand played me again and told me I
could win another one if I beat him again.  He had absolutely no luck in this
game.  He never got a Wigglytuff out, leaving me to take out his Jigglypuffs
and Scythers with first, my Magmar, then later with an Arcanine.  He later
found out that 3 of the 4 Wigglytuffs were in his prizes (he never won a prize
in that match).  Now I get 2 Aerodactyls...Awesome!
8-0

Match 9:
Blast Off! vs. my sis Kathy w/ Water/Colorless Deck
Before the match, I traded 4 Water Energy, a Spearow, and a Fearow for a DCE
and a Fossil Magmar.  Then I found out why she wanted the energy so bad.  She
took out her grass Pokémon and put in a whole bunch of Water Pokémon, and also
used the Spearow and Fearow I had traded her.  This spelled trouble for me
early, since she had a Squirtle against my Vulpix at the start.  I used Pokémon
Trader to trade an Arcanine in my hand for a Kangaskhan, and retreated Vulpix
so I could stall.  The 6 or 7 cards I got from Kangaskhan's Fetch attack proved
big.  I did something almost foolish, using my Challenge! at a pretty bad time,
but she declined and I drew an Arcanine and a Ninetales.  Her mistake cost her
big time, since I had a fully pumped Vulpix and Growlithe on my bench.  She
found out 3 turns later when I defeated her Blastoise with 2 PlusPower and
Ninetales' Fire Blast.
9-0

After that match I got my Aerodactyls and a Promo Mew, then bought a Gym Heroes
booster, getting a holo Rocket's Hitmonchan.  A pretty good day if I do say so
myself.  :)  Now my Blast Off! Deck owns a 16 game win streak, with 6 of those
against water decks.  Not bad for a "weak" deck.

Props and Slops:
Props to my sis for trading me a DCE, now I can use it in my other deck.
Props to the guy I played in match 6; one of the only good sports there that
day.
Props to Armand, for letting me play him again after the other two gym leaders
couldn't play me.
Props to Carl, for making an entertaining match out of our second match; almost
had me fooled.  Also, he's the one who helped me learn how to play.
Props to my deck for being able to beat water decks.
Slops to the kids that called my deck "weak".

Well, this is Al, signing off!
