On Cue books, videos games
I went to the pokemon league this Saturday, May 27 at On Cue in Spencer, Iowa. There was about 25 people at the league this week. The bad thing about the league here is that the competition isn't that good. Oh well, I still had fun. Here's my deck.
4 Jigglypuff
3 Wigglytuff
4 Hitmonchan
3 Scyther
2 Kangaskhan
15 Fighting Energy
4 Double Colorless Energy
2 Energy Retrieval
3 Bill
3 Professor Oak
2 Computer Search
4 Energy Removal
1 Super Energy Removal
2 Gusts
3 Plus Power
2 Scoop Up
2 Item Finder
1 Lass

The stategy is to get Wigglytuff out as quickly as possible doing as much damage as possible. This deck uses lots of drawing cards and Computer Searches to get this done. Hitmonchan is the 2nd main hitter of the deck. Scyther is here for his free retreat, resistance to fighting, and his ok attack. Kangaskhan is in this for some drawing power.
Before the tournament I played my friend with this deck, he was using a Curse deck, and my deck didn't have much problems with that, so I went to the league with a lot of confidence.
Round 1 versus some little kid playing water-fire. He was playing water and fire, but I only saw his Chansey. I start with a lone Jigglypuff, and he has a Chansey active. I go first and lullaby, putting Chansey to sleep. He attaches an energy to Chansey and passes. I put a double colorless on Jigglypuff, and put a Scyther on the bench. Then I professor oak getting a Wigglytuff and 2 other pokemon for the bench. I evolve Jigglypuff, Item Finder for the professor oak, computer search for another oak, energy removal Chansey, and Do the Wave with a full bench for 60. He can't do anything, so I Do the Wave again and that's it.

Round 2 versus an older kid playing Fire, Lightning, and Water. It was kind of nice to play someone who new the rules pretty well for a change. I start with Scyther, he starts with Zapdos. He goes first, puts an energy on his benched Eevee and says go. I put an energy on Scyther and pass. He puts another energy on Eevee and passes. I play a double colorless on Scyhther and slash Zapdos. He plays another energy on Eevee. I put a Jigglypuff on the bench and attach an energy to it, and I slash his Zapdos again. He attaches another energy to Eevee, evolves it to Dark Flareon, switches Zapdos for Dark Flareon, gusts out Jigglypuff, and kills it in one hit. I put Scyther out, and Computer Search for a professor oak. I get an energy removal which I play on his Flareon, and Slash Flareon. He attaches an Energy to Dark Flareon and uses quick attack, but he flips tails so I only have to take 20 damage. I then slash with a plus power to kill dark Flareon. All he can do is send out his Zapdos with 30 HP left and pass. I slash Zapdos and win the game.

Round 3 I play the same kid as last round. I have Kangaskhan active against his Pikachu. He gnaws, I then attach an energy to Kangaskhan and fetch. He thunderjolts. I put a Jigglypuff on the bench, attach an energy to it, and fetch. He thunderjolts again. I evolve Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff, professor oak getting a scoop up and double colorless. I scoop up Kangaskhan, put the double colorless on Wigglytuff and Do the Wave for 50 killing Pikachu. His only basic on the bench is Team Rocket Dratini, and he uses wrap, but doesn't paralyze me. I Do the Wave and that wins the game.

Round 4 versus a kid with too many cards in his deck. His deck was illegal because he had like 100 cards in it, but I didn't care so I played him anyways. I start with Jigglypuff, he starts with Lickitung. He goes first and tounge wraps with paralyze. I attach an energy to Jigglypuff and pass. He switches Lickitung for Pikachu and gnaws. I go through 3 professor oaks to get a pumped up Wigglytuff with a full bench. I do the wave and kill his pikachu. He keeps putting out new basics from his bench, but he never puts out Lickitung, and I keep using Do the Wave to get one hit kills until I have all my prizes.

Round 5 versus a brat who doesn't know quite how to play. First off this kid put 4 pokemon on the bench, but when we flipped over the actives, he wouldn't flip over his benched pokemon. He insisted that he could have pokemon on the bench and not have to let me see them. We argue awhile, and he finally flips over the pokemon on his bench. I start out with Hitmonchan and start Jabbing. I remember getting a Wigglytuff out with a full bench on turn 4 and getting 2 kills with him. But after I get 2 kills with Wigglytuff he forfeits. Then he insists that I don't get the win because he forfeited. The judge gives me the win though.

Round 6 versus a kid new to the game. I kind of had to teach this kid how to play as we went. I started with hitmonchan against his mewtwo. I jabbed for awhile and knocked out his Mewtwo. He then knocked out my Hitmonchan with Mew. By then I had a Wigglytuff out with a full bench. I Do the Wave over and over, and he loses.

Round 7 against the same kid as in round 2 and 3. We were about to start when the judge said the games from now on wouldn't count for points. I wanted to play a full game anyways, but he just wanted to play a quick 2 prize game. I start with Hitmonchan to his Team Rocket Dratini. I go first and Jab. He  attaches an energy to his Zapdos on the bench and passes. I put an energy on a benched Scyther and jab killing his dratini. He sends out Zapdos and puts an energy on it. I super energy removal Zapdos, scoop up Hitmonchan, attach a double colorless to Scyther and slash. I keep slashing until Zapdos is dead.

That was all the games I played at the pokemon league. It was kind of like last week when I beat everyone badly with a Electabuzz-Fossil Magmar-Scyther Haymaker. I got my Promo Mew card this week, and I traded for a 1st edition holo Rocket Sneak Attack.
