I participated at the Pokemon League at Bookland in Beckley, WV on the 24th of june.  There were about 20-30 people there.  I fought 4 battles, and my record was 3-0-1 for the day.

2 S.E.R
2 comp search
1 prof oak
3 super potion

1 bill
2 g.o.w. (only 2, got ninetales' lure)
Energy (25)
3 full heal energy
2 potion energy
1 d.c.e.
19 fire
The basic strategy of this deck is to stall with magmar until i get a heavy hitter pumped and then wreak havoc on their pokemon.

Match 1 vs. kid with water and lightning and grass
This was right before the league opened.  I started with a lonely growlithe to active lickitung and articuno and a venonat on his bench.  I dropped energy and passed.  He tongue wraps no paralysis.  I drop energy and flare.  he then starts to power articuno, but after he got 2 water i s. removaled it and he got no more energy for it.  So I got magmar on the bench and lickitung was starting to hurt.  but then the league opened so we called it a draw and went in.

Match 2 vs. kid with colorless, fighting electric deck
this was the most pathetic match i have ever won.  the match went on for 15-20 turns or so and the poor kid never even attacked!  I start with magmar to kangaskhan.  I have another magmar on bench and kid has meowth, onix and a few others.  I smokescreen, he fetch i smog, fetch, smog, it goes on until kangaskhan dies.  he sends out onix to be slaughtered and by then i had managed to get ninetales powered up with oak, gambler and bill and the fire energy just keeps coming.  Down goes machoke, persian, meowth and raichu for the victory.  I didn't get the chance to help the kid with his deck because he rushed off after that to trade and I think he left to get his gyarados prerelease..  oh well

Match 3-vs colorless deck (the kid i battled outside w/diff deck)
This one was short.  I open with a lone charmander to lone jiggly.  I flame tail, he removals, i flame tail and he potions, i draw charmeleon and evolve and attach dce to him and slash away for the victory by lack of basics

Match 4 same kid-
the first battle was way too short so we go again.  I open with lone vulpix vs. lickitung and he had jiggly on bench.  I stall as long as I can with that one vulpix using up 2 of my full heal energy and a potion energy until i get- surprise, another vulpix!  so I go with the same routine until I get fossil magmar.  then, seeing the situation that he was in, (likitung dead, jiggly active poisoned 20 damage) he forfeited.

r = fire energy   c = colorless energy  w = water energy

Arcanine (blaine)                                        90 HP

RCC  Heat Tackle                                      40
Arcanine does 10 damage to itself
RRRR   Firestorm                                      120
Discard 3 R energy cards attached to arcanine in order to use this attack
retreat  3 C
weakness W
resistance none

I am very satisfied with the performance of this deck.  Thanks to the rocket set for making available some very good cards and thanks to my friend Josh who helped me revise this deck.  If you have any suggestions about how to make my deck better feel free to mail me at adamhawk@dvdol.com  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you Pojo!
