This deck is designed for a speedy victory, or if that cannot be
achieved, has been known to stall an opponent or two.  This deck took
second place at Comic Central in Cincinnati Ohio(shout out) on june 10.
There are about 16 people in the tournament but the competition at this
location if far tougher than any i see anywhere else.  No promo or
japanese cards(not out in america) were allowed in this tournament. all
tournament rounds were best out of three

round one:
Vs. Another electabuzz magmar deck
Coming in to this i knew it would be a tough fight, as haymaker variants
usually are.  I set up scyther first turn as i usually do when i can and
had a magmar on the bench.  I got into energy trouble early with a
severe lack of fire energy but soon drew an electabuzz.  The game was
goin really slow, not many prizes were being drawn and i was doing a lot
of scooping up.  Then the kid did what i was hoping for, he played an
oak and about three bills.  As the game progressed i recognized that he
had only taken about two prizes and his deck was getting kind of lean.
I always make it a habit of stayin ahead of people in remaining deck
size by not playin bills and by playing the garbage run.  It soon payed
of when he forfeit the game when he had about 7 cards left and i had
about 20.
game two:
I knew the kids deck by this time and knew that he had a lack of
scoop ups in there.  I attacked off the bat and never slowed down.  I
sacrificed a few of my pokemon to take out his because i knew if i got
in a jam i had scoops and itemfinders to heal up damage.  The game was
over about 10 turns into it when i took out his last pokemon.

Round 2:
vs. Adam& Rain dance
i knew the kid i was about to play and was not to frightened about
his rain dance.  He is notorious for having too much energy and not
enough basics.  I layed electabuzz of the bat and immediately began to
murder his small army of staryus and squitles.  he brought out his
articuno but i had saved a super in case something like that happened.
He eventually ran out of energy because of the removals.  The game was
over in about 6 turns.  Play tip for rain dance:alway hold all possible
electric energy in your hand and electabuzzes too.  Chances of an
imposter oak very slim.  Plus they cant get gusted and get killed
prematurely.
game two:
same as first.  Electabuzz came out early and i gusted for the squirtles
that appeared on his bench.  I knew that they had to be taken out early
because they posed the only chance of me losing the game
2-0 record 4-0
round 3:
vs. venusaur deck
I knew that this deck was goin to be less difficult than the blastoise
because bulbasaur takes two energy to use his attack and cannot really
stall well against magmar.  I got the firebreather out early and
computer searched for gust of wind to take out the only bulbasaur on
their bench.  They had a scyther in play as well but i was not worried
because i would hold a super untill it got fully charged.  I defeated
his nidoran males with little problem as well because of their low hit
points and unreliable attack.  As usual i held all backup magmars and
fire energy in my hand to protect against GOW or any other harmful deck
destruction that may have removed my magmar.
Game two: pretty much same as the first because of the large amount of
small vunlerable pokemon he sent out early in the game.  The strategy i
kept in mind was to end the game as soon as possible.  I excercised this
when i threw away several cards like garbage run and energy retrieval to
computer search and itemfinder.  Had i not been able to eliminate his
small pokemon early on i would probably have lost in the long run.
Playin tip:  Do anything possible to remove the backbone of opponents
deck early on ex: gust of winding for the bulbasaur.  Sacrifice anything
needed to search for GOW even if you think the card may come in handy
later, when the card comes in handy, venusaur may be out and you will
probably lose the game.

Final round
vs magmar hitmonchan deck played by Irvine( plus power kid)
Irvine was the dominant player at the tournament and i knew i would be
in for a fight.  I led scyther as usual and did not place anything on
the bench.  I was worreid that he may have a GOW and take out my
electabuzz early.  When we turned our cards face up he did have a
hitmonchan and led scyther as well.  I layed fire energy on magmar and
sent him up to attack the scyther.  As expected it retreated and i
fought hitmonchan.  He hit me first turn but i threw lucky coin tosses
and he missed with many jabs at the hands of  smokescreen.  He played
two oaks and a couple bills and i was immediately thinking stall him.  I
put up scyther and kept gusting for hitmonchans. Since they had a two
retreat cost i knew that he would have a hard time mounting and
offensive and keeping hitmonchan on the bench.  Eventually he ran out of
cards in his deck but not before he got down to his last prize.  Had he
had a few more cards in his deck i surely would have lost.
game 2:
He hit hard and early by removing the energy of my magmar and finishing
it off with and electabuzz.  I was short on energy, which i often am for
some reason though there are 20 in my deck.  An electabuzz got left high
and dry by another energy removal and was finished by hitmonchan.  I was
not drawing my scoops which is  one of the major cards in my deck that i
like to play.  I ended up losing this game because too many of my
pokemon got stuck up front and i couldnt spare the energy to retreat
them.
game 3: this game ended  up pretty much as game two.  I was energy short
early and got a few too many of my pokemon taken out by being stranded
up front.  Also there were several suprise kills when the plus power kid
came through with his signature trainer card.  Plus powers would be
played two and three at a time and i lost a lot of energy to those
suprise attacks
