Hello all!!!  "The Team" strikes yet again, nailing another tourney.  AJ ( AJvoni@aol.com ) and I, the great grassking (Tyler C at TheGrassKing@aol.com and www.geocities.com/grassking86 ) paired up in a team tourney.  AJ was captain this time, and the tourney had only 11 teams, 2 of which dropped out.  the tourney was at Superhero City in Sewell, NJ, and it was june the 4th. I played against some little kid , no threat at all.  He had a dark vileplume deck, first one i saw played.  I think we both got out scythers and dittos and it was really slow, and when he got out dark vileplume, it got even slower.  BUT SOME THING HAPPENED...He tried to COMP SEARCH, then i said "no vileplume has hay fever" and he suggested that he had the power to turn it off.  i said WHAT!!!!  the whole place went up and into an arguement, and when we finally decided that you CANT(which was true) i got out venusaur and solarbeamed away his dittos and vileplume.

My first game was against a seasoned veteran, and i was worried.  The deck he played was a plain old haymaker.  It started and i lost a roll.  all day i ended up getting all ones when i rolled the dice.  he opens up w/ chan, me scyther.  i said thank god.  but then he dropped electabuz and scooped.  i managed to get out a mew2 and pump it on the bench as the turns go on.  by the time scyther fell buzz had done 30 to self w punch.  mew2 took it down.  the game  weny on with removals and knockouts until i got a wiggly and blew em all away.

This game, i played against a haymaker with magmar.  When i first saw him he said "I am gonna get a win against this loser he plays friggin grass!"  that got me mad.  I began with scyther, him scyther.  swords dance on turn one, then slash with a pluspower, and game.  TAKE THAT !!!!  YEA TERRIBLE GRASS WHATEVER!!!  If you're out there, I, TheGrassKing, say u sukk! :P

 

(AJ)he playd a hitmo-scyther-magmar deck.  mag vs scyther was a pain.  but `1ce i got a wig out i THOUGHT i was gonna win.  however after v ing 2 pkmn he got hitmo out .  everything went down from there bc i could not charge up a mew 2 & when ever i tried to resist a hitmon chan with a wscythar he just switch and burn.  i lost.

(TYLER)I played against an anti haymaker, and it was looking real grim when i had only a bulbasaur out against a hitmonchan.  but i drew an oak.  I got out a ditto and hurt him a little with the ditto but he killed it with magmar and then he killed bulbasaur and i ran out of bench.

 

(AJ)this guy was playing a chan mew2 scyther ditto ( a deck i tried that flopped. )  1/2 way in we each guessed what was in each others decks.  then i explain how my copy of his deck really sucked.  we started playing, i was just about to win when he pulled a top of the deck oak.  once he oaked it all went down hill til finally it was a stand out with who could deck each other out.  we garbage ran each other until finally he drew his last prize.

(Tyler)I played against a classic haymaker.  I start ditto, him buzz.  Ditto took out lots of guys but then ditto died, i got out venusaur but he died as well, I had terrible draws too.  It ended with  fatal blow to bulbasaur.

 

(AJ)we played at a table that had a stain on it.  the stain was on their side and they thought they would have bad luck because of that.,  fortunately that was true.  i started with a mew2 and a puff on the bench.  he got 3 scythers.  in my hand i had the makings of a beauiful 2nd turn psyburn ( 3 psy nrs's and a cpu search )  i pulled it off and kept doing 40 to the scythers but he kept retreating and scooped up then he got the 4th scyther.  i had been tryng to stall for a while b/c i had a cpu and an i f in my hand and i had an oak in my discard pile and a dce waiting in my deck for my wiggly.  i eventually stalled up enough cards to if cpu and fill my bench.  1ce i itemfound oak i got what i wanted a +power.  i retreated my mew2 and started beatin down with wiggly.  he brought up dit and tried stall.  i dropped 2 +pwers and killed it.  he brought up another ditto and i use one plus power and item find another.  he finally got n electric nrg, drpot it on buz gust for mew2 and t shocked.  my nly choice was to drap sy and absoreb.  he pud down another e energy and thunder punched tails.  the kid had unintentianally given me the "pluspower" i needed so i did the wave.

game 5

(Tyler)I played against some mr mime deck that was lising the tourney.  Every time he got out a mime against my ditto, i retreat for bulbasaur and kill it.  then when he sends out magmar against a scyther, i bring out ditto.  when he gets out scyther, i get out either scyther or ditto, and the cycle goes on and on and on.....he finally quit because it was no use.

 

(AJ)i played against against a deck with ditto that ended up having an0-5 record.  this guy was so down in spirit he almost gave up before sytarting.  my lots of energy and his speedy ditto put 60 damage on my mew2 and scyther.  it was looking grim, but then i got a 3rd energy on mewtwo and drew a cpu from my prize.  i oakty but he could not get energ on hitmonchan.  i managed kill 2 of them w/ gow.  by the time i was up gainst a schyther i blew them away with wiggly, game.

 

after i won i was exited bc the guy said if ty won  was in the finals.  i went up to ty who had a very frustrated look on his face, and he said i had to win or draw, then i would be in the finals.  this saintly child forfeit so we could get into the finals and hoppefully win.

(Tyler)I played against this kid with yet another haymaker.  I pretty much creamed him, he got out a scyther with no energy, i got 2 scythers and 2 dittos fully charged.  I kept killing all of his energyless pokemon in two blows.

 

(AJ)first finals game.  this guy played a basic haymaker and as usual he thought he was the greatest since sliced bread, and he would beat me down.  however he didnt forsee mewtwo blasting away hitmonchan.  i took all 6 prizes in an all out kill-o-ramma with mew2 and tuff. 

 

THE FINAL ROUND

(Tyler)I get ditto, him scyther.  First turn swords dance.  Then slash with pluspower, game!!!

 

(AJ)  if u wanna know what happened please refer to paragraph 2 of this report.  it was pretty much the same, exept at the end, time ran out.

 

So then we have to go into SUDDEN DEATH.  One prize, first kill WINS!

 

(AJ)roll dice, me 1st.  opening hand, cpu search, i got 2 psy energy, oak, garb run,  scoop up, and a MEWTWO!!!!!  sent out mewtwo as active.  i saw my chanse as and comped with 2 psy.  i almost garbage ran but realized my mistake before making it, I WOULD HAVE LOST!!!  i oak and get a full wiggly evolve, a 2nd mew2, extra energys, and LASS!!!  i used it on him & WHAM!!!!  get rid of super er, 2 +power and gust.  that ruined him  he would have gusted, 2 plus powers game (only one prize in suddeen death match). i had absorbed and his turn.  draw card.......and it is a magmar.  next turn PSYBURN!  GAME!

 

we win the tourney!!!

 

we each get 4 boosters.  aj gets non holo gengar, holo dark dragonite, holo ditto and holo here comes team rocket.  not bad.  ty was not saying the same, as the holo he pulled was a
