Hey there! The names Pedro Chavez and I have a new style of deck that could
be interesting to some of you players out there. A brand new anti-trainers
deck! This deck got a pretty good rating with a 3 to 2 losing which was
better than I expected. As it is still in the experimental stage.

Pokemon: 29
3x Movie Mewtwo (anti-Muk)
2x Scyther (If your playing grass, you'll play this card)
3x Gastly ("Energy Retreival")
3x TR Abra
2x Dark Kadabra (Cycle through useless cards, loke trainers when Vileplume is
out)
4x TR Dratini
3x Dark Dragonair ("Pokemon Trader w/o the trade)
4x TR Oddish (Poison is REALLY good)
3x Dark Gloom (Pokemon power kept me alive sometimes)
2x Dark Vileplume (Most decks ultimate fear)

Trainers: 12
3x Bill (Even in anti-trainer deck it's allways good to have Bill)
1x Prof. Oak (Helped get some key cards, especially when you could use
trainers)
1x Pokemon trader (To many evolutions is a BAD thing)
3x Gust of wind (there are some cards that can make things ugly unless dealt
with)
2x SER (An ounce of prevention can get account for a pound of remedy)
2x Pokemon Breeder (Trainers catch on when Dark Gloom hits so let's not give
then the warning) ; - )

Energy: 19
6x Grass Energy
10x Psychic Energy
3x DCE

The Pokemon Powers account for the lack of trainers. Dark Kadabra is one of
the most important pokemon to get out because his power will remove
unnessasry trainers and sometimes energy to let Mewtwo "sponge". Scyther and
Gastly help against fighting, and free retreat is cool when Dark Gloom Pollen
Stench backfires.

Anyway, on to the tournament, it was held at Atomic Comics in Pheonix,
Arizona on June 3, 2000. The turnout was very poor (perhaps the 109 degree
temperature and the fact that it was held outside?) and only 18 people showed
(after delaying the game 2 hours) : - (.

Round 1 Vs. Junior and his Psycho Fire Deck
Very fast game. I had an Oddish, Scyther and Mewtwo in my opener and he had a
Fossil Magmar, Charmander and a Growlithe. I had very little energy, and the
game ended with a very mad Promo Arcanine and Flames of Raged my Mewtwo for
80 damage. ouch ... oh well, everybody has a bad game every now and then.

Round 2 Vs. Junior's Younger Brother and his Grass deck.
This game went better, he had an Exeggute and a Scyther. After much juggling
of pokemon, mass poison damge and an evolution to exxegutor I beat him
because he didn't have anymore basics out.

Round 3. Vs. Pikachu lover
This was probalbly the closest game I had without losing. He started with
allot of basics, like one of each Pikachu (base Pikachu was active), Rocket
Voltorb, and a Zapdos. Fortunatly and unfortunatly for both of us we had one
problem, lack of energy. He managed to get an early (2nd turn?) Dark Raichu.
I gusted for the Zapdos and stalled longed enough to get energy on my
Dragonair, and Mewtwo. I managed to defeat his Zapdos and kept him from
energy with SER. He still managed to defeat my Dragonair with a Voltorb (and
3 Pluspowers). And surprisingly he manged to power up Raichu (both Dark and
Base). Fortunatly, his Dark Raichu didn't flip heads ever, and my Mewtwo was
the only one to substain damage and by this time Dark Vileplume was out and
prevnted his healing of pokemon( He had potions and Pokemon Center which got
vey annoying). Unnfortunatly, Base Raichu busted him up. Fortunatly, he used
his Thunder attack (for 10 damage?) and dealt 30 damage to himself. To stall
for my Scyther that I recently put out sacrificial lamb which he Thundered,
with another Tails. Scyther came out fully energized and took him out. From
there it was very soon when he was defeated, but I came very close to drawing
out. Phew!

Round 4 Vs. Carlos and his Haymaker Deck
I was actually looking forward to this round because I wanted to see how my
deck dealt against a Haymaker. He opened with a Chansey (shudder...) and a
Hitmonchan. I had 2 Oddishes(one active) and a Mewtwo. The game went very
easily as I got a Third turn Vileplume (thank you Pokemon Breeder!) and
poisoned Chansey to the discard pile. His Hitmonchan was poisoned and was
eventually defeated by a powered up Mewtwo.

Semi-Finals Vs. Stall Deck
This game went very fast. He opened with a Chansey (again?)  and a Movie
Mewtwo (uh-oh). After a few Psychic energy, he powered up his Chansey with a
DCE and Defendered it to knock out my pokemon with Doubledge for a Prize. He
did the same for my Mewtwo and Knocked him out. The game was over when
Alakazam out and had another 2 Chanceys. One was active and had 2 DCEs on
him. He then Doubledged till he had won the game. All I had were Dratinis and
Dragonairs(hah!). Somehere in there he powered up the Mewtwo and blasted some
Pokemon. (The trauma is still fuzzing up my brain). Semi-Finals were single
elimination, so that was it.

Needless to say, I am surprised that I made it that far.  During the
tornament, I thought up some ways to improve the deck. Wigglytuff, and Base
Dragonair are good ideas and you could remove Gastly for those. Also one
could switch a Bill for an Oak.  To get the cards they want faster. Any new
suggestions are welcomed and are to be sent to Pedro Chavez by using
thegamer83@hotmail.com.

I hope this deck will give you soome new ideas. Who knows? It could be the
start of a new archtype! Heh heh heh...
