The tournament i played in was held at Olympic Cards & Comics in Olympia
Washington on 1/15/00. 30 People participated. Five rounds were
played and
the person to win all their matches went home with the prize of their choice.

Round 1 Vs. Karl with modified Overgrowth
I won the coin flip and put down my only Pokemon Electabuzz. I had only
fighting energy and a plus power so i put one fighting on Buzz and said go.
Karl benched Bulbasaur and Venonat and started with a Starmie. He put a
water on Starmie and Slapped for 20. I drew my card and got a electric
energy (YES!!). I did thunder punch and killed starmie. He sent out
Bulbasaur put a grass energy down and said go. I played the plus power i
got
in my starting hand and did thunder punch and flipped heads (bye bye
Bulbasaur). He drew his card and sent out Venonat. Stun spore and
i'm
paralyzed. I drew my card and got a Prof. Oak. I played oak and got
two
plus powers, two energy removals and 3 fighting energy. I said go since i
was paralyzed. he put a energy on Venonat and leeched lifed (Doh!).
My turn
i played a plus power and thunder punched his Venonat. Game.

Round 2 Vs. Boy and his Dad with a Psy/Grass/Colorless deck
This game was my easiest game i played. My starting basics were
Hitmonchan,
Electabuzz and a Fossil. He put down a Tauros and a Lickitung and his
starter. He went first and put a grass on Lickitung and tongue rapped with no
paralyze. I put a fighting energy on Chan and jabbed for 40. he put a psy
on
lickitung and did supersonic but that also failed. My turn. I play a plus
power and jab for 50 and K.O. Lickitung. he sends out tauros plays a
double
colorless and stomps. My Chan is down to 40 Hp so i retreat for my full
powered Hitmonlee and high jump kick for the game.

Chinese kid with Rainbow deck
This game was kinda weird. My hand was two Chan four fighting energy and a
Prof. Oak. He went first and played his only basic Jigglypuff! He
put a
water energy on him and did lullaby. I flipped and woke up. I played
a
fighting on Chan and Oaked i got two plus powers, Electabuzz and Electric
energy. I jabbed with the plus powers and won the game cuz he had no
basics.

Semi-finals Vs. Nick with mono-fighting deck
I went first and played Hitmonchan as my starter with Electabuzz, Hitmonlee
and a Fossil on my bench. He played Rhyhorn and Mankey and Cubone on his
bench.
I put a energy on Chan and Jabbed. He Put a energy on Rhyhorn and did leer
but failed. I drew an Oak and i used it. i got a Aerodactyl, plus
power,
three Gusts and 2 Electric energy. I gusted out his Mankey and plus power
jab. One prize for me. He went and put a energy on Rhyhorn and did leer
and
it worked. I drew my card and got a plus power. I gusted out his
Cubone and
special punched. Two prizes for me. He put a energy on Rhyhorn and
did horn
attack. I went and played a plus power and special punched for the game.

Final match Vs. Chris with Fighting/Colorless
I thought i would lose this game but, when he put down his starting pokemon i
knew i would win. I had a two Hitmonchan and fighting energy. he had
one
basic...A Dratini! (hee hee). I played a energy on Chan and jabbed. He
went
and played a DCE on Dratini and played a defender and did pound. I drew my
card and got a energy removal and took off his DCE (he was really mad). i
played a energy on Chan and said go because of the defender. He evolved to
Dragonair and played a energy on him and said go. I drew my card and got a
Electric energy. I played a energy on Chan and did special punch. He
went
and played a DCE on dragonair (OH NO!). He slammed my Chan all the way to my
discard pile with two good coin flips. My turn. I sent out my last Chan
and
played a energy on him and then (wicked grin) jabbed for the GAME!

They had many prizes to choose from so i took a sealed NEO promo set.
I
also got a promo Mew.
