Hi, my name is Ervin Tormos. You may have read my report with the Tuff Deck.
Also in it I may have put 99 instead of 00, still can't believe it's 2000.
Anyways, I recently participated in two tournaments-one on 1/15/00 and one
on 1/22/00. For both I decided to play Ryan Truong's Hot Jalapeno Potpourri.
I used the exact same deck as he did in his last report and I must say that
he put together a great deck. Just in case you haven't seen it here it is:

POKEMON:14

3 Electabuzz
3 Magmar
3 Mr. Mime
3 Scyther
1 Jigglypuff
1 Lickitung

TRAINERS:24

4 Bill
3 Professor Oak
1 Computer Search
2 Item Finder
3 Gust of Wind
3 Scoop Up
2 Energy Removal
3 Super Energy Removal
2 Energy Retrieval
1 Mr. Fuji

ENERGY:22

7 Fire Energy
6 Lightning Energy
6 Psychic Energy
3 Double Colorless Energy

I played in two tourneys with this deck, one at Comic Central in Cincinatti,
Ohio, and a big tourney in Red Bard which is also in Cincinatti. I will
write two different reports with the tourneys first starting with the one at
Comic Central.

                  COMIC CENTRAL:1/15/00

Well, we play swiss for 3 matches and the top 4 people get prizes however if
you lose one of the rounds you don't have too good of a chance at a prize.
Anyway, on to the tourney.

Match 1, Game 1 vs Matthew(I think)

He has some 4 color deck with Pinser, Articuno, Khangaskhan, Zapdos, and
Moltres. Obviously, he never draws the right energy and when he does I
energy removal it. I just stick Electabuzz as active and using gust of winds
eventually get all my six prizes.

Match 1, Game 2

Exact same story. I just put Electabuzz in and he once again knocks out six
of his Pokemon for the win.

Match 2, Game 1 vs Keith

He played my friend Brian last weak and he cheats. He threatened to beat me
up(yeah right)so I showed no mercy today. He had a Haymaker deck with Abra
and Alakazam(?). This game it was close in the beginning but I slowly began
to take the lead with Energy Removals. He put down several Abras but I just
gusted them out and knocked out his only basics for the win.

Match 2, Game 2

He got no Abras this time, just a Hitmonchan and a Scyther. I made quick
work of his Hitmonchan with gusts and my Scyther and killed his Scyther with
my Electabuzz.

Match 3, Game 1 vs Tim

This kid is nice to talk to and is a good sport. He has a water and grass
deck. He starts off with two Squirtles and me a Scyther and a Mime. I take
good care of the Mime with Scoop Ups and energy removal him until he has no
water energy. I finally get Electabuzz out while he still can't do anything.
I knock out his only Squirtles for the win.

Match 3, Game 2

This game was much quicker. He had a Squirtle, I had a Lickitung and 2
Mimes. I started off with Tongue Wrap, no paralyze. He bubblebeams, no
paralyze. I draw, attach energy to Mime, Tongue Wrap, paralyze. He can't do
anything so it's my turn again. Give another energy to Mime but still can't
find a Scoop Up so I just Tongue Wrap again and paralyze. He can't do
anything and has no drawing cards so I just Tongue Wrap for the win.

I ended up tying for first along with Ritchell and got the complete 9 card
Neo Set.

PROPS AND SLOPS

BIG PROPS to Ryan Truong for making this deck.
Props to Ritchell for getting first with me.
Props to Tim for being a good sport.
Props to Comic Central for hosting the tourney.
Props to the kid who sold me an Alakazam, Gengar, and 1st ed. Fossil Haunter
for $12.

Slops to Keith for being a jerk.

And now the tourney at Red Barn hosted by Comic Central.

                    RED BARN:1/22/00

It was supposed to be 5 matches but they ended up changing it.

Match 1, Game 1 vs Brandon

There is another place name Acme Games(or something like it)and he won the
tourney there yesterday. He had some kind of Haymaker but he made many
mistakes which surprised me. I eventually stuck in Electabuzz and Scyther to
do some damage along with gusts to draw all my prizes.

Match 1, Game 2

We struggle back and forth and in the end he has 1 card and we both have 1
prize left to draw. He has Electabuzz as his active and I have Scyther along
with Mr. Mime on my bench who has 20 damage. He discards energy off
Electabuzz to retreat and I'm afraid of Hitmonchan with a gust but it
doesn't happen. He just sticks in a healthy Electabuzz and hits me for 10. I
draw a Lickitung, retreat Scyther, and end up decking him.

Match 2, Game 1 vs Andy

He has a stall deck or it extremely seems like it. He starts off with 2
Chanseys and a Mime. He attaches a Double Colorless and scrunches but I
remove it. I end up poisoning Mime and killing him and then poisoning a
Chansey. He uses Double-Edge so we both get a prize and I end up poisoning
the other Chansey with my other Magmar. He knows he can't win so he just
uses Double-Edge to end it.

Match 2, Game 2

All he has is an Abra. All I have is a Mime. I go first and I smell blood. I
go with his plan and Oak and lay energy on the Electabuzz I get. He tries to
paralyze but fails. I Bill twice, Scoop Mime, and Thunderpunch for the win.

They had door prizes and somehow I won the Bodyguard theme deck. I'm feeling
extremely lucky.

Match 3, Game 1 vs Adam

He hates Haymakers but he plays a strange one with Aerodactyl, Muk, Scyther,
Hitmonchan, and Hitmonlee. I gust 2 of his Dittos when they have 60 damage
and kill a Hitmonlee and a Hitmonchan. I finally kill a Muk with Electabuzz,
and later gust for an Aerodactyl and knock him out with Scyther for the win.

Match 3, Game 2

I do the same thing with the Dittos(lose doing it) and kill his Muk with
Electabuzz. Soon Scyther comes in once again to do his worst on Hitmonchan
and Hitmonlee.

Since it began snowing they already decided all the rankings. I was however
very close with another boy so we faced off for first place.

Match 4, Game 1 vs Chad

His deck is the same as this one except for Mime there is Hitmonchan. I
start off on fire but unfortunately, so does he. I removes all of my energy
and I Bill and Oak too much and end up decking myself.

Match 4, Game 2

I see that his deck doesn't have but 1 gust of wind so I take advantage of
that. I retreat everyone who has damage and match up whoever he has weakness
to. In the end I have 8 more cards than he does and he has 2 prizes-me 1
prize. I Bill twice, use an Energy Retrieval, and Thunderpunch for the win.

Match 4, Game 3

I start off on fire once again and he can't cool me down. I have to Oak to
continue and it helps. I once again match everyone up the way I need to and
in the end I have 1 prize and all he has is a Scyther with 40 damage. I
energy removals my Electabuzz so I Oak. All I need is an energy and I win
the tourney. Obviously, I get one. I get 5. That's enough and the win goes
to me.

I win the entire Neo Set(again) and a Mint-Condition Charizard(here everyone
loves them so you can get a lot of good cards for it).

PROPS AND SLOPS

Props to Comic Central for hosting the tourney and giving great prizes.
Props to Kenny for acting concerned about my matches.
Props to Ritchell for going undefeated.

Slops to Comic Central for giving Ritchell sorry people so he couldn't make
it to the finals.
Slops to Chad for acting like a baby when he lost.
Slops to Brian and Kenny for annoying me when I was using the phone.
Slops to the food store for giving me that funky-tasting Cherry Cola.
