Well, recieved another newletter from Pokemon Paradise on Sunday, and they
had a tournament today (Thursday 20 of January). So, I attended with my
all-new electric deck, "The Next Generator!" About 24 people here, and
single elimination (I thought the whole world had turned to best record!).
My bro came too with a Fighting/Fire deck, no Charizard, good thing he was
smart. He's started to run out of good deck ideas. Oh well, here we go. Take
a look at "The Next Generator!"
POKEMON (19):
4 Electabuzz
3 Pikachu (Base)
2 Raichu (Base)
3 Magnemite
2 Magneton (Fossil)
3 Eevee
2 Jolteon
ENERGY (24):
24 Lightning energy
TRAINERS (15):
3 Bill
3 PlusPower
2 Professor Oak
3 Gust of Wind
3 Switch
3 Mr. Fuji

I ended up getting only second, which isn't bad (I've had worse), but I've
gotten better (first, of course). Alright, here we go:
Round 1: Spoiled Brat wants to fight!
His deck was naturally bad, if focused on Oddish-Vileplume and
Bellsprout-Victreebel. He started with Oddish, Electabuzz roasted it,
Bellsprout goes down, out comes Weepinbell with no energy, it goes down,
Vileplume goes down, and he's out of basics (blows on gun point). Simple as
that.

Down to 12 people
Round 2: Trevor wants to fight!
Ok, I couldn't help laughing at how bad he was beaten, but he started off
with a full bench. Magikarp is fried by Pikachu, Squirtle is fried, Poliwag
is taken out with some difficulty, Wartortle's down by my newly-evolved
Raichu, and a Blastoise that caused some damage goes with it. I did pretty
well: oops! He still has Poliwrath. Agility and Thunder take it down for my
last prize. I win.

Down to 6 contestants
Round 3: Loser wants to fight!
This deck was just thrown together. As I noticed, he had one of practially
every colorless Pokemon in there! He also put in like 30 DCEs and no
trainers. Soon as I saw the 5 DCE, he was outta there as fast as a Pidgeot
(or HIS Pidgeot, I should say).

Down to 3 people
Round 4: No one wants to fight!
I get a bye.

Down to the last match!
Round 5: Big bro wants to fight!!!
I lose. Just don't ask. Ok, fine, here's what happened: He has Machop
against my Pikachu. I ask him if he has and fighting energy, he says yup,
even SHOWS ME HIS HAND TO PROVE IT, and I forfeit. No point in wasting time
doing our turns.

I end up in second, and get an $18 gift certificate. No question: I buy 2
Base boosters, 2 Jungle and 2 Fossil (the packs are only $2.99, and the
certificate also gives you a tax-free purchase). I get Poliwrath, Scoop up,
holo Syther, non-holo Venomoth, holo Kabutops, non-holo Ditto. Well, that's
it for now PoJo. See ya!
