Raging Water

Hey Pojo/pokemon fans, I entered a tournament in Williard, OH
at the
American Legions, on 1-15-00. There was about 30-40 people there. Before I
went
I made this deck. It’s your basic rain dance deck but this one works
well.
Just try it
out against your friends. Here’s the cards of the Raging Water:
Pokémon:
4x Squirtle-(evolving reasons, good starter too)
4x Blastoise-(main point of the deck, try to get out at all costs)
2x Articuno-(use only if you have Blastoise out, or if they are playing with
lightning)
3x Seel-(if you don’t like this stage use Gyarados)
3x Dewgong-(A great attacker, Blastoise comes in handy to charge this guy)
2x Lapras-(try to start out first turn, save one in case they bring out mime)
Trainers:
3x Pokemon Breeders-(fast evolving)
2x Gust of Wind-(kill little dangerous creatures)
3x Item Finder-(notice I only have 3 breeders, this is when this card is
useful)
3x Computer Searches-(get Blastoises with this card)
3x Professor Oak-(to get energies)
3x Pluspower-(Hitmonchan beware, these saved me greatly)
3x Energy Retrieval-(a good card to have around)
2x Pokemon Traders-(get the pokemon you need)
Energy:
20x Water Engery
Object: The object of this deck is to kill as fast as possible. This deck
is
offensive,
don’t worry about the damage the pokemon can take it. First start out
with a
Lapras
hold them off for a while with confuse ray and water gun. Then get out
Blastoise at
all costs. Get Blastoise out and then charge the big beef. Do Prof
oaks as
much as
needed to get energy. Item Finder for Breeder if you need another
Blastoise
but
don’t have any more and then you know how the rest goes. If they bring
out a
guy
with pkmn power, then charge Lapras and confuse ray. Don’t be afraid to
retreat.
Retreat when a guy is about dead, he could come in handy. Last but
not
least plus
power for the sure kill. e.g.. Blastoise+pluspower=kill Hitmonchan. then
get
back
with item finder.
Here is how the tournament went: played five rounds, best 8 records advanced
to
the sudden death
Round 1
Me Vs my friend Adam Dufer
Adam and I were unfortunately facing each other right of the back. He had
the same
deck as me. He won the flip and he started of with a Lapras, me of course
started
off with a Squirtle with nothing but energies in my hand. He laid a
pluspower on
Lapras and water gunned for 20. I went and didn’t draw anything good.
I
bubbled
and missed. Game over for me! record 0-1
Round 2
Me Vs A stupid kid who didn’t know how to play
Oh my god, this kid just wasted $10 to entered this tournament to get killed.
He did
not know what he was doing. He started out with a Farfetched and tried to
do
Pot
smash right away. I’m like no! I had to tell him to draw a card,
put an
energy
down, and attacked. I was a very stupid game. I started out with
Lapras and
charged him fully after 3 turns. No Blastoise yet, I was hoping to kill
him
with that,
oh well. He had a crap deck so I murdered him with Lapras the rest of the
game.
Easy win. Record 1-1
Round 3
Me Vs weird kid
This guy knew what he was doing, he knew how to play but not how to play
good.
he had a weird deck, duo-color, Lightning, Fire. Lapras had fun with
magmars
and
voltorbs, but then died. I wiped out Blastoise and killed him.
Another easy
match.
Now is when it gets hard. Record 2-1
Round 4
Me Vs Mr. Energy Removal haymaker guy
This guy played haymaker and wouldn’t let you keep energies out. Good
thing I
played rain dance or else I was dead. I got out Blastoise, kept him
on my
bench
and started killing with Dewgong, I had about four prizes left and he gusted
out for
my Blastoise, I rained on Blastoise trying to fight back but Hitmonchan ko’ed
it. I
was done for, with now three prizes, only Lapras and Dewgong on my bench and
no
energies I was almost gone. I got my Articuno and found some energies and
started
charging. He made a big mistake. With his Hitmonchan out he gusted
with
Articuno and forgot resistance. He prof oaked twice and laid down two
pluspowers
and hit me for thirty. My Articuno though was defenseless (because of
energy
removals) and I still couldn’t get Blastoise out. He made another big
mistake. With
only 4 min left he played another prof oak. He was down to about 7 cards
and
I
stall with Lapras and Articuno for the rest of the game and won. To close
for
comfort!

Round 5
Me Vs another rain dance
We decided to draw and we were both in the finals

Sudden Death: (reminder: only one prize now, once you lose your out)

Me Vs the same guy I drew too in round 5
In the finals now, the guy played a defensive deck. With Chansey and
Scyther
and
Blastoise. He won the flip and he started with Scyther and me with
Articuno,
the
worst starter in my deck. He charged then I charged when he got Scyther
fully
charged he slashed, It was my turn I Freeze Dried and got heads. He was
done. I
finished him off with a Blizzard!
Sudden Death round 2
This guy went 4-1 through the tournament. He had a weird but good deck.
With
Clefairys, Mimes and Psyducks. I got to go first. I started out with
a
Seel. He
played Clefairy. Headbutt for 10. Then he put me to sleep. I
drew a
Dewgong and
charged seel up again then woke up. He evolved to Clefable and headbutt
me.
I
evovled into Dewgong and layed down a plus power for the game. On to the
finals!!
THE FINAL BATTLE:
I was facing my other friend Dan who had a poisin deck. I drew seven cards
and
got the god hand. Breeder, Blastoise, Sqirtle, prof oak, pluspower, and
two
energies. WOW! He started out with a Scyther, crap! I won the
flip and I
knew I
had him. I bubbled but didn’t paralyzed. Everyone crowded around
and was
like,
“yeah Dan won this.” I knew he had double colorless. He sword
danced and
it was
my turn. Blastoise came out, plus power down, two energies. Prof,
three more
energies, 2 plus powers, oaked again for the heck of it got another plus
power and
HYDRO PUMP for 100.
First place prize was the whole fossil expansion! This deck rules!
