Dear Pojo,
Here is my killer deck that I took to Game HQ in Edmond, OK on Jan.
8, 1999.  There were about 28 people there and the top eight make it to the
playoffs where it is single elimination.  Here is my deck:

Devolution Deck

The strategy of this deck is to use the aerodactyls and mews to de - evolve
your opponent's pokemon down to weak little monsters, then come at them with
heavy hitters like articuno and Mr. mime.

Energy

14 Water Energy
10 Psychic Energy
2 Double Colorless Energy

Trainers

2 Professor Oak
2 Pokemon Trader
3 Bill
2 Gust of wind
3 Computer Search
4 Mysterious Fossil

Pokemon

4 Mew
4 Aerodactyl
4 Articuno
2 Lapras
2 Mr. Mime
2 Scyther

Here is how the tournament went:

Round 1 - vs. Raindance Deck

I could tell this was going to be an easy win because I got out Aerodactyl on
the third turn which never let him get Blastoise.  I started out with Lapras
and Mew, he started out with Squirtle and Shellder.  I went first and started
water gunning.  He couldn't get any energies, and eventually all he had was
that Shellder.  He got a Cloyster but that wasn't quite enough because I then
sent out a fully loaded Articuno.  I won that round due to lack of pokemon.

Record - 1-0

Round 2 - Vs. Stall Deck

This round started with him getting an Alakazam really fast.  He was damage
swapping to Kadabras on his bench while my Mew was out against a Mewtwo.
Thanks to a few Gust of winds, I was able to get out those kadabras and kill
them with Mimes and Mews  I drew all of my prizes in about 15 minutes and won.

Record - 2 - 0

Round 3 - vs. Grass deck

I have been veeery lucky so far and I was this round, too.  Just about all of
his grass pokemon were weak against psychic such as Grimer and Zubat and
Golbat.  He had a Golbat that killed off my Lapras pretty quick due to lack
of Water Energy.  So I Computer searched for a Mew, attached an energy and
pulverized it.  That was the first of many pokemon he had but he kept playing
gambler and eventually decked himself.

Record - 3 - 0

Round 4 vs. (Arrrrrgggh!)  Colorless Deck

This round took a long time and was very confusing with Dittos, Clefairys and
other strange pokemon.  I got an Aerodactyl  out quick and he kept getting
really mad because he would have a double colorless on his Clefairy, not get
any more energy,
and not be able to evolve to Clefable.  I had to use my Articunos and
Computer Searches wisely but I barely won when he had one prize card left.

Record 4 - 0

Playoffs

I am not going to talk about the playoffs very long because they were kind of
ugly for me.  The first round,  I started off against a Haymaker.  All I had
was an Articuno, and he had an Electabuzz and A Scyther.  He went first.  He
did ten damage with Electabuzz and paralyzed.  I didn't draw any energys, and
he won after a few thunderpunches.

My Record for the day was 4 - 1, but I won 4 Fossil boosters for being in
third going into the playoffs.  I got two holo dragonites, a holo moltres,
and a non holo kabutops.

See ya next time.
