Hi, my name is Ervin Tormos. You may have read my Tuff Deck(which is a
really lame name) report or the Hot Jalapeno Potpourri report. If you read
the Hot Jalapeno, some things don't make sense like I removals me and how I
lose by gusting Ditto. I really meant he removes my energy and I love
gusting Dittos with 50 or more. Sorry about that. Anyway, on 2/19/00 I
participated in a tourney at Red Barn in Cincinnati, OH. I played a
variation of a Haymaker(whoopee). There were about 40 people there and in
the end there were about 30. Here is my deck:

POKEMON

4 Electabuzz(NOT ElectRabuzz)
4 Scyther
3 Hitmonchan
2 Chansey

TRAINERS

4 Bill
3 Oak
3 Defender
3 Plus Power
3 Gust of Wind
4 Energy Removal
2 Super Energy Removal
2 Scoop Up
2 Computer Search
2 Item Finder
2 Energy Retrieval

ENERGY

6 Lightning
7 Fighting
4 Double Colorless

I know you're thinking about how unoriginal this is. I know it's unoriginal
but I made the deck 10 minutes before leaving for the tourney so I really
didn't have much time to think of a great deck with Alakazam(my favorite
Pokemon). If I write a sentence that doesn't make sense, please use your
common sense to figure out what I really meant to say. Anyway, on to the
tourney.

There were going to be 5 rounds of Swiss and you have to win 2 out of 3
games to win the match.

Match 1, Game 1 vs. Andy

He has a Moltres, Chansey, Scyther stall deck. Not very easy to beat.
I use my energy very carelessly and in the end when I need it most he
removes it. I had 2 prizes and he had a Moltres with 6 energy, put him in
and Wildfired for the win.

Match 1, Game 2

I don't remember much but I know I killed his Moltres off with
Thunderpunches and ended up killing Chanseys with Special Punches.

Match 1, Game 3

I started off good, drawing a few prizes quickly. There are 5 minutes
left in the round and he knows he can't deck me in that time but he tries.
He Wildfires a few times and I have 1 prize left after killing Moltres. He
uses gambler and draws 8 cards. When it's my turn I gust for a Scyther with
30 damage, attach Plus Power, and Thunderpunch.

Game:2-1, Match:1-0

Match 2, Game 1 vs. Chris

He plays fairly well. He has a water deck so I know I'll be using my
Electabuzz. I kill of several Lapras, and Double-Edge two Articunos. He had
little energy the whole game, and eventually I kill his Blastoise for the
win.

Match 2, Game 2

He didn't see much energy this game either. I Double-Edged his
Articuno, the only Pokemon who had energy, and quickly won after that.

Game:4-1, Match:2-0

Match 3, Game 1 vs Dennis(I think)

He played a Lightning and Water deck which is bad for him. He has
Voltorbs, Eevees, and Pikachus. I have Hitmonchan and Chansey. I kill off
Eevee with a Plus Power, He buzzaps Electrode, and by then I special punch
everything he has left.

Match 3, Game 2

This game he only sees the water portion of his deck. I put in
Electabuzz and Thunderpunch. I get a few tails but that doesn't stop me. I
win in a few more turns.

Game:6-1, Match:3-0

Match 4, Game 1 vs ?

I don't remember his name but he play a grass deck. He poisoned my
Electabuzz and I put a few Defenders on him(Scott, would Defender block
poison? No-one said anything and we assumed it did) so he lasted a good
amount of turns. Even if that didn't happen I had another Electabuzz ready
and he saw almost no energy the whole game.

Match 4, Game 2

This game he got about 2 energies. He tried to evolve Nidoran twice
into Nidoking(CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THE SCRYE PEOPLE THEY ARE WRONG AND
YOU CAN'T EVOLVE TWICE IN THE SAME TURN?)and everyone said he could do that
cause of that damn Scrye. He originally thought he couldn't so he sided with
me and didn't. I ended up winning in a few turns.

Game:8-1, Match 4-0

This round my opponent didn't show up so I ended 10-1/5-0. Here's why I
didn't get first. My opponent had 9 points I had 12. Ritchell's opponent had
12 points and he had 12. Ritchell won his match and had a better opponent's
win % so he won the tourney. We didn't get a finals match because there was
no time. I thought the prizes would be different for 1st and 2nd but it
ended up they didn't give Ritchell a Charizard because there wasn't enough
people. We both won the NEO set(again).
