First of all:
The tournament was held at the Scottsdale Mall in South Bend on Febuary 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. About 30 kids participated. My record was 3-1, or 3 wins and 1 loss. Only English cards were allowed in this tournament.
My deck was made of:
Energy:
25 Lightning Energy
2 Double Colorless Energy
Trainers:
4 Gust of Wind
4 Energy Removal
3 Super Energy Removal
2 Switch
4 Potion
2 Super Potion
Pokemon:
3 Base Set Zapdos
4 Electabuzz
4 Jigglypuff
3 Wigglytuff
Round 1:
I faced an Alakazam deck. It mostly consisted mostly of Kangsakhan and Mr. Mime. My Electabuzz's made quick work of this game. Jigglypuff came in and pounded a Mr. Mime to win this round. 1-0
Round 2:
I faced another Alakazam deck. This one was much stronger. It had 4 Chansey's, 3 Alakazam's, and some Electabuzz's. I got Base Set Zapdos at the start and I ended up losing this round due to Chansey's Double Edge attack a few times. 1-1
Round 3:
I faced a Water Deck. It consisted mostly of Kangsakhan, Blastoise, and Gyarados. I drew Electabuzz and Jigglypuff at the start. Gyarados was pretty hard to beat, but, after Gyarados destroyed one Electabuzz, I sent out a benched one to defeat the Gyarados. All he had left was a Squirtle and a Magikarp and Electabuzz thuderpunched twice for victory. 2-1
Round 4:
I only got Base Set Zapdos at the start. Luckily, this guy just threw all kinds of cards into his deck. He did get some energy out, but I energy removed it. My Base Set Zapdos took out his Pokemon one by one and I won the game very easily. This round was obviously the easiest round.
