Well Pojofans, it's Zak Dube again here, and it's time I picked out the
perfect deck for me. I have decided on an Electric/Grass deck called
Computer Bug. So, anyways, the tournament was held Thursday, February 10,
2000 at Fiction and Fantasy in San Antonio. Two out of three wins wins the
fight and gets the battle point, most match points wins the tournament.
About 18 people came to this thing and I had 6 opponents. Wow, a lot to do
in one day! Anyway, here is the Computer Bug:

   17 Pokemon
4 x Nidoran M
2 x Nidorino
2 x Nidoking
3 x Electabuzz
3 x Voltorb
2 x BASE Electrode
3 x Scyther
   24 Energy
11 x Grass energy
10 x Lightning energy
3 x Double Colorless
   19 Trainers
3 x Bill
2 x Professor Oak
3 x Gust of Wind
3 x Switch
3 x Mr. Fuji
2 x Pokemon Breeder
3 x PlusPower

"Lame Raindance" deck wants to fight!   This is the most lame Raindance deck
I've EVER seen. And that says a lot. He only had about one Squirtle, one
Wartortle and one Blastoise. Then it has about 4 of each evolution in a
bunch of crappy evolution lines like Shellder/Cloyster and Horsea/Seadra
(not crappy but not that good).
First Match: He started off with his Squirtle (lucky pick), while I had
Electabuzz up front. I go first, put down a L energy and Thundershock.
Heads. He doesn't do anything like GOW/Switch/ER and my turn. Not much more
to say.
Second Match: This was a little tougher. He starts with Horsea against
Voltorb. He goes first and Smokescreens, I try Tackle but get tails and
can't attack. The Smokescreen thing goes on until Voltorb almost dies, but I
am saving up an Oak and loading Voltorb with L energy. I finaly have an
empty hand except for a few energy and Oak, I get Electrode of course and I
evolve and destroy him, along with his Wartortle, a Kingler, Krabby and
Magikarp (wonder if he has any Gyarados in there?) and he runs out of
basics.
   Battle Points: 1

"All-crap" deck wants to fight!
Now, believe me when I say this – this deck is just CRAP. C-R-A-P.
Five-color deck with NO doubles, NOT EVEN ENERGY. Can you say crap? I
thought so.
First Match: He starts with a his Magikarp. Lucky he even got a basic.
Magikarp turns into Magikrap in two turns via Nidoran M with tails then
heads.
Second Match: He got an Abra and goes first vs. Nidoran. He doesn't
paralyze me, I put down a G energy and flip heads. Game.
   Battle Points: 2

"Frigging Fragging Haymaker" deck wants to fight!
This is my bro with his new, very well constructed Anti-Haymaker deck.
Strangely in the past few tournaments (which I haven't written in to PoJo)
he has fought lots of Haymakers, so he decided to counter them.
First Match: He starts off with a F. Gastly, me an Electabuzz. I go
first, put down L, Thundershock paralyze him, he curses, I put down a G and
Thunderpunch, heads, Gastly's K.O.'ed and he has no basics.
Second Match: He starts with a Hitmonchan against Voltorb. He goes first,
puts down a F and Jabs. Game.
Third Match: This is the longest match against him. We both have Scythers
out, and we wait for the devastating coin flip to see who will beat the
other first. Luckily, I have a PlusPower up my sleeve to finish him first no
matter what. I go first anyways and draw an extra burst of speed, a DCE. I
put a G on and Swords Dance. He thinks I'm joking. I let him go. He puts
down a energy on Scyther. I put down the DCE, he yells no in slow motion as
I put on my PlusPower and finish his Scyther off. Out comes his Fossil
Magmar, but he has no F energy from the look on his face. His Magmar goes
down slowly, and is followed to the graveyard by F Gastly, regular Haunter
(he doesn't have a F Haunter) and another Scyther. He's out of Basics and I
win.
   Battle Points: 3

No one wants to fight!
Sorry, can't remember this match…

"Flames of He|_ |_" deck wants to fight!
OMG. Someone's actually done it. A Charizard deck.
First Match: Just don't ask. He has no basics 6 times. By the time he
gets a basic (Charmander), I have everything I need to kill it in one shot
by Nidoran M. I flip heads with two PlusPowers and kill that damn lizard for
the win.
Second Match: Same as first, except he had Ponyta.
   Battle Points: 4

"Last Shot" deck wants to fight!
This is an illegal deck. His basic is Rocket Magikarp, I call over a judge
and I get an auto BP.
   Battle Points: 5

I come in somewhere in the top 3, either second or third, I can't remember
because they never really told us, I win 3 basic boosters and I got:
Ninetales, Nidoking and Computer Search.
Well, that's it. I know I haven't written in a deck report in a while, but
I'll try to keep up. So many other things to do right now that a lot of the
time I don't find the time.
