We had a 16-player constructed deck tournament Wednesday, April 21 afternoon around 4 until 6 o' clock. It was awesome! I made a new deck to see how i would do in the tourny, called Quick and Easy . Sooo, this is how it went... 23 Fighting Energy 1 Double Colorless Energy 4 Machop 2 Machoke 1 Machamp 3 Diglett 1 Dugtrio 2 Hitmochan 1 Chansey 4 Bill 3 Professor Oak 2 Pokemon Traders 1 Computer Search 4 Potion 2 Super Potion 4 Energy Removal 2 Super Energy Removal First round, played a guy named Anthony Calderon (goes to my school) and he has lack of good cards. He was playing water/grass. He's chinese looking and a mexican-tan shade, so we call him a Chexican HAHAHA. Sorry all you chinese-mexican crossbreeds or single breeds out there i may of offended. Anyways, I beat him up in two straight rounds. Easy as pie. Now, eight left. I played Adam Lawson, good player with good deck. He also goes to my school. He was playing a pure water deck, with Garydos, Poliwrath, Blastoise, Dewgong, and great trainers. However, the weak basic pokeon cost him the first game. He got a magikarp and Squirtle, and my Hitmonchan quickly disposed of them. Next Round, a Garydos came out swinging. Tough luck for me, has has resistance to fighting. He has 8 damage counters on him, and my Machamp is going to kill him next turn- but then he QUADRUPLE POTIONS OFF A PROFESSOR OAK. Tough luck, I lose. Next round, same story as first. Shook hands with him, and moved on. Final Four now. I play Ben Wilson, this pudgy 12-year-old. He's playing an Electric and Psychic ZAP deck. I made quick work of his losers, however Kadabra was giving me problems (MY MACHAMP WAS STOMPED). Next battle, that Kadabra came out again and beat me up. I had a machoke and a Machamp, but Kadabra got them both with a defender and a recover... SHOOT! Next round, Alakazam makes his way to the board. Chansey is in back, taking lots of damage. When Chansey finally got 11, he pokemon-centered. That made me mad. Then, I got a Dugtrio in my next draw. I evolved the diglett that moved into play, played an energy, and killed Alakazam. Noone else had energies, and i started drawing my potions. Whew, that was close! Final Round- I've been lucky so far. Eric Chapman, this other pudgy guy my age in my math class, i gotta face. He's got cards-a-plenty, and is playing straight water. REALLY well made. He came out with Blastoise in his first turn, billed, layed energies, professor oaked.... end of story, that was end of the first game. Next game, I beat up a Squirtle with my Machop pretty easy. Cheap victory, but i'll take em any way they come. Last round, every player crowded around, picking up and scanning our prizes, seeing our next few draws, looking at our hands... annoying, but we dealt with it. I layed down Hitmonchan and flipped him over to Eric's immediate disgust, hehehe. Drew no basics for a bit, but lots of great trainers and energies. Pokemon tradered a Dugtrio for Machop, layed him out, evolved into Machoke and next turn drew Machamp. Hitmochan blew out four, but FINALLY died when a Blastoise sneaked in. Machamp came in with 3 energies, and i luckily drew the energy i needed. I layed it and finished Blastoise, cuz Hitmonchan got off a special punch on Blastoise (Blastoise does 60, i had lots of potions and stuff like that). Next card, a Magikarp lumbers in with an energy. Evolves into Garydos. I have Rattata and Diglett and Machop on bench, nothing great. Machamp falls pretty easy after Garydos double potions and super potions. I draw Chansey. I buy time with the other losers, get some damage done with a Machoke, and then bring Chansey in to do 80 before he drew his last prize. I drew my last prize, and won. I got $20 store credit, and 4 booster packs. (I opened a Pokemon Trader, a Magneton, a Venusaur, and a Lass.) Theres the tourney report. Hope you enjoy!!!\ gtff@utinet.net
