This *specific* deck has been in one tourney, but I came in 3rd with it out of 22 people ( I lost to some kid with a psychic/fighting deck). I myself have been in 3 tournaments, and once (with a ZAP deck) I came in in somewhere around 16th in a tournament of about 20 people. The other time (with a Fire/Fighting deck) I was eliminated in the first round by a guy with a straight Psychic deck. All tournaments were held at a small local card shop named Cards & Comics. Here's my deck: The Overpowering Overgrowth Deck Water Pokemon- 2 Squirtle 2 Wartortle 1 Blastoise 1 Poliwag 1 Poliwhirl 1 Poliwrath 1 Magikarp 1 Gyarados 1 Seel 1 Dewgong 11 Water Energy Grass Pokemon- 2 Nidoran (male) 2 Nidorino 1 Nidoking 2 Weedle 2 Kakuna 2 Beedrill 2 Bulbasaur 2 Ivysaur 1 Venusaur 11 Grass Energy Colorless Pokemon- 1 Dratini 1 Dragonair 1 Double Colorless Energy Trainers- 2 Potion 1 Switch 1 Energy Removal 1 Bill 1 Energy Retrieval 1 Gust of Wind Strategy: The strategy of this deck is to start out with basic pokemon with a moderate amount of HP, and that don't need a lot of energy to attack. Three to four turns into the game, evolve your bulked-up basics into stage1 & 2 pokemon. Blastoise helps to give a lot of energy to someone like Gyarados or himself quickly (if you have the energy in your hand). Venusaur, with his sweeeeeet Pokemon Power, helps give energy to others, even if you don't have the energy in your hand at the time. The switch helps to avoid high retreat costs (I know, I know, I need more trainers). The Bill helps you to get a bigger hand, therefore you wiil have a large variety. The Gust of Wind is useful in late game to get a weak pokemon of your opponent's out, and the Energy Removal supports Poliwrath's Whirlpool and Dragonair's Hyper Beam. ( The Energy Retrieval is basically self explanatory) If you have any advice, questions, or anything else to say about this deck, you can E-Mail me at www.PMHMagic@AOL.com. Submitted By: P.
