Subject: New Deck Submission Date: Sun, 28 Mar 1999 11:08:58 EST From: AstroPuck@aol.com To: thepojo@thepojo.com Hurricane Headache! Michael: Astro_Puck@aol.com Water, Lightning, Psychic 60-Card Deck My deck is a killer deck because it uses a combination of 3 different types of cards that makes it almost totally unbeatable. The water type cards have a weakness to either grass or lightning, so no one type can beat all water cards. There are 3 holographic water type cards (Blastoise, Gyrados, and Poliwrath), they do well against fire cards, and some have a resistance to fighting. That makes water type cards an impeccable choice for a killer deck. Lightning type cards also have 3 holographic cards (water and lightning are the only 2 types with those credentials), so that tells you they must be pretty tough. Most have a weakness to fighting, but they do well against some water like Blastoise and colorless birds like Pidgeotto, Farfetch'd, and Doduo. Thus, lightning type cards make a great addition to any deck. Psychic type cards should not be the focus of any deck, as they are not as strong as water or lightning, but they are an excellent additional complement, working well in the supporting role in this deck. Psychic cards do well against fighting cards, and some have resistance against them. Their only weakness is other psychic type cards, but since all cards have this downsided feature, the other person's psychic cards will do just as poorly against your cards as yours do against theirs. Alakazam also has a Pokemon Power that allows him to swap out damage counters, and Mewtwo has a move that prevents damage, so the psychic defense is almost invincible, justifying their presence. If you haven't noticed already, these cards work well together, picking up the slack on each other's weaknesses. Blastoise and Poliwrath have "pumpable" attacks that allow for a higher standard of offense, and the psychic cards have an aforementioned superb defense. These cards mesh well together to form an ultimate deck. I have used this deck in 8 games, and my record is 7-1. Hurricane Headache! works well against almost all combinations of decks. My only loss was to a Grass, Lightning, Fighting deck, and even then you have to be really unlucky to lose. These are the cards in Hurricane Headache! I use the pyramid technique for evolution cards. Feel free to make any changes or modifications to suit your needs. Hurricane Headache!
