And now...THE TOURNEY REPORT!!! L-L-L-LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMBLE!
Straight from Fun 'n Games in Temecula, California, here's the lowdown on
the October tenth battle royal of 18 trainers!

ROUND ONE
We both drew our starting hands and I won the coin toss. I had a hitmonchan
and my opponent had a charmander. I played an energy and jabbed for 20. My
opponent did the same and scratched for 10. I jabbed for 20. My opponent
then played a DC on charmander and evolved into charmeleon, slashing for 30.
When I saw his charmeleon, I immediately used the breeder I was holding
since opening hand and evolved my benched squirtle into blastoise and triple
rain danced, powering up blastoise. My opponent then evolved to charizard
and played an energy, energy burned, and sent hitmonchan to my discard pile.
That was a bad thing to do. My blastoise was then able to hydro pump its way
to victory thanks to hitmonchan's damage. My opponent was shocked and
blastoise tore through his remaining bench of fire-types.
The next game of round one was essentially uneventful. I was able to power
up blastoise and tear through his fire-based deck.

ROUND TWO
My opponent this time was an experienced player who was able to best me in
the first game by putting a beating on my only pokemon, staryu. The next
game, I K.O.'d his kangaskahn in three turns, courtusey of hitmonchan. The
third and final game was a fierce one, with our benches full nearly all the
game. In the end, one of his fighters was downed by a well-placed snorlax
body slam after being paralyzed, allowing me to claim my last prize.

In the end, I was deemed first place winner and recieved a 30 dollar(!)
store credit to the store that held the tournament, along with a nice
certificate that hangs proudly in my room, framed.

A BIG THANKS TO VICTOR FROM FUN 'N GAMES FOR ORGANIZING THE TOURNAMENT, MY
BUDDY DEREK HEID FOR LETTING ME USE HIS COMPUTER TO THIS KIND OF STUFF UP,
AND TO NINTENDO, CREATURES INC., GAME FREAK, AND WIZARDS OF THE COAST MAKING
