24 Participants
DCI Sanctioned Tournament

This is my second tourney and the results are lot better than the first
one... There were only 24 participants which were considered really little
since the last tourney had over 100+... I'm using actually a colorless
deck, with only two Scythers being grass... I'm surprised at the no. of
Psychic decks... And other decks are usually Haymaker variants... Here's my
weird deck...

Grassy Wave

20 X Grass Energy
04 X Double Colorless Energy
-24 Energy Cards

2 X Scyther
2 X Farfetch'd
1 X Lickitung
4 X Jigglypuff
3 X Wigglytuff
3 X Spearow
2 X Fearow
-17 Pokemon
-12 Basic
-05 Evolution

4 X Switch
2 X Gust Of Wind
2 X Scoop Up
1 X Computer Search
4 X Potion
2 X Energy Removal
2 X Bill
1 X Full Heal
1 X Pokemon Trader
-19 Trainers

I know my deck only has 2 Grass Pokemon which are Scyther, but it's still
considered a grass deck to me... The whole idea of the deck is to 'Do the
Wave' with Wigglytuff, supported by Fearow (Agility & free retreat cost...)
- I added Computer Search, Full Heal and Pokemon Trader because because I
can trade cards with Trader if I need an good evolution or basic, or Full
Heal my pokemon, and if both doesn't apply I can use Computer Search...

The tourney were filled with the most being Haymaker variants, then Psychic
decks, then Raindance and other original decks... Here's the report...

Round 1 - VS Some young kid playing a great Psychic deck...

His psychic deck has everything like Hypno family, Gengar family, Slowbro
family, Jynx and Mr Mime, but he didn't use Mewtwo... I had Jigglypuff out,
and since I had the resistance, he couldn't do much damage... I had one
prize card very soon, but it stayed that some quite a long time... He keeps
on using PokeDex (I don't know why), Professor Oak and I got my Wigglytuff
and Scyther out... His Haunter posed quite a treat because of Hynosis, but
I Lullaby before he does that... His Mr Mime was also quite strong because
of me using Scyther, but the free retreat cost for Jigglypuff was the
end... It was a full 20 min match and when I got my last prize card, I
think he still had 4 or 5 left... All because of the resistance...

Win - 3 points now...

Round 2 - VS Dennis (my good friend) playing a Gengar deck...

He got another Gengar before the tourney so I knew he had 2 Gengars in his
deck... We both start with quite a good hand... The resistance against
Psychic helped me alot, his Gengar Dar Mind only got my bench... About
three quarters of the time passed, we both left 1 or 2 prize cards (I
remembered it was a draw) and he was actually stalling with his Chansey as
he couldn't beat me and wanted a draw... He used Pokemon Centre twice,
Scoop Up and Gambler in order not to deck out and wait for the limit... I
remembered the ending was he had a Mr Mime out stalling, and I had a
Wigglytuff... In order to kill Mr Mime, I had to Lullaby first... It woke
out a few times, unsuccessful for me... I finally Lullaby for the last time
and he didn't woke up before or after his turn, so I 'waved' Mr Mime
goodbye... Just as I took my prize card, (he had two and I had one left
now), the judge said the time's up so I won by the prize card... A close
win only...

Win - 6 points now...

Round 3 - VS a friend's friend playing a Ditto,Clefairy & Clefable,Scyther
and such...

He had a Scyther as active with couple of benched pokemon, while I used
Jigglypuff has active with a few benched pokemon (I forgot)... I keep on
Lullaby Scyther, and Scyther seems never to wake up, and slowly pounds to
get my first prize card... He got Chansey out, but seem to wake up only for
a long time... Chansey is also killed... Halfway through the game, he's
using Clefable and pounds me... He did 'Do the wave' once, and I used
Fearow after Wigglytuff was knocked out... After Agility-ing and Drill
Peck-ing, the prize cards are left 1 for me and 2 for him... He scoops up
Clefairy before being knocked out, but I gust his Clefairy in and knocks
out... A relaxing good match...

Win - 9 points now...

Round 4 - VS a big guy who is real good playing a Haymaker variant

I knew he was quite a good player so I don't hope on winning... He's using
a Haymaker variant but with no Hitmonchan... I only have one basic which
was Scyther... I only managed to draw another basic on the 4th or 5th turn
which was a Spearow... This was a quick match for me... I forgot which was
his active pokemon but I knew he used Electabuzz a little while after...
Anyway, I was knocked quite soon... I should have shuffled better to get a
good hand...

Lose - 9 points still...

Round 5 - VS a very talkative fellow who is also playing a Haymaker variant

He's real talkative and keeps on talking and joking around... He's actually
a friend of the guy in the previous round... I think he uses Fossil Magmars
instead of Electabuzzs... Anyway, we both only have a basic which was both
Scythers... My whole hand's full of energy, so I hope for a good draw... He
goes first and swords dance... I do the same but he uses an energy
removal... He has 2 energy cards on Scyther now and I put another... He
energy removal removes it again... He puts another energy on Scyther and
slash for 60 with a plus power... It's the end of the match... A bad hand
again...

Lose - 9 points still...

Round 6 - VS another good player using Haymaker variant

This is the last round of the tourney so my mood's better... His Haymaker
variant has Ditto, Electabuzz, Fossil Magmar and Scyther... I think I
started with Scyther and Jigglypuff as benched... About 8 mins into the
game and I'm sort of building up my bench and having Scyther as my active
as I have 2 Scoop Up in my hand... He seems to be in a energy problem and
his Scyther has no energy on it... I quickly Energy Removal his fire energy
and now all his pokemon has no energy... After building my bench, I
retreated and started attacking... I think I knocked out one of his pokemon
just now and I have one less prize card than him... (About me having 5 and
him 6...) After battling for a while, my Wigglytuff knocked out quite alot
of his pokemon (all 70HP, so I have to 'wave' twice) My Wigglytuff was
finally knocked out by his Electabuzz and I had one last prize cards while
he still has 3... I don't know what happened to me but strange enough, I
moved in Fearow in knowing that Fearow has a weakness to Lightning... Wierd
enough, he admitted defeat... Really... I told him about the weakness but
he said my other benched pokemon would knocked him out... Oh well...

Win - 12 points finally...

Well, everyone received a Jungle booster for participating... The people
who won 5 matches (nobody was undefeated...) received another Fossil
booster... Oh well, I won 4 matches so I didn't got the Fossil booster...
Unluckly, I got a non-holo Pidgeot... I also bought another Jungle booster
which I got a non-holo Vileplume... Oh well, why I always get non-holo
cards... Anyway, there was a man selling Japanese boosters cheaper than
other places, so I bought one and got Pinsir...
This tournament was alot much better than the last one and I enjoyed myself
overall since the players were very good... Till the next tourney...
