# of Participants-13 was 14 but someone left

Ok here we go again, another week at Deja Vu, participants are not coming in great numbers and it is usually the same people every week with a few new faces that show for one tourney.  But that's alright every week matches get slightly hard with new challenges, so that's fine with me the tougher the challenge the better, most of the time at least.  Once again I'm using Hot Jalapeno Potpourri, although Magmar did almost nothing this tourney, which is a pity since he is a very good Pokemon and did very well in my last few tourneys.

    Hot Jalapeno Potpourri

    Energy: 22

    7 Fire
    6 Lighting
    6 Psychic
    3 Double Colorless

    Pokemon: 13

    3 Fossil Magmar
    3 Electabuzz
    3 Mr. Mime
    3 Scyther
    1 Ditto

    Trainers: 25

    4 Bill
    3 Professor Oak
    3 Gust of Wind
    3 Super Energy Removal
    2 Energy Removal
    2 Plus Power
    2 Item Finder
    2 Scoop Up
    2 Mr. . Fuji
    1 Energy Retrieval
    1 Computer Search

Ok the deck went under some changes that I think benefit the deck fairly well, as you may have noticed I have been experimenting with the "13th" Basic in my decks, this week it is Ditto, this guy rocks with D.C.E. against any Pokemon.  The Mr. Fuji's are my new deck refillers, much better then Lass, Mr. Fuji can rid of a that Extra Magmar, Electabuzz or Mime that you don't need and is G.O.W. bait.  It also can refill your deck, just pile on the energy and Fuji sometimes it is enough to win a game, it actually did in one of my matches.

Round 1-VS Pat M. with Psychic

Didn't see much of his deck, think it was a stall deck, but not sure, he got a mulligan and when we got started I had an Electabuzz and him a weak old Abra.  He goes first and Psyshocks my for 10 and Paralyzes.  I go attach and energy, removal and end my turn there, he goes attaches an energy shocks no paralyze, I go lay down another energy T-Punch flip a heads overkill of 10 and I win.  Nice and easy win for the first round of the day :)

    Record: 1-0
    3 Points

Round 2-VS  Peter B. with Colorless

His Pokemon were way to slow to match up with my deck, Kangaskhan, Snorlax, etc... Scyther and Electabuzz took care of his guys, two Clefable's were sent towards me and gave me a little challenge.  But not enough to keep this deck down, he used Metronome and Slashed my Scyther, I returned the favour with my own Slash, he goes slashes again, and I finish his 1st Clefable off with a Pluspower and Slash.  Similar story with the next Clefable, but I used Electabuzz and two Thunderpunch's took care of that one.  After all that I had 2 prizes and him I believe 4, all he had left was a Snorlax and Wigglytuff with no energies, I finish them off and win the second round.

    Record: 2-0
    6 Points
    Round 3-VS Alex K. with a Raindance

I usually have no problems playing Alex when he uses his Raindance deck, but he got lucky this time and blew me away quickly getting prizes way faster then me.  I regained my ground with Mr. Mime who gave me time to recuperate my bench, Electabuzz came down and made quick work of a beat of Blastoise and took 60 from another one, Gusted and killed a beat up Lapras.  Thus letting me get to 4 prizes, he is at 3 right now, pretty pathetic for about halfway through a game, I now realize my only chance is to deck him, I Fuji twice giving me a fairly large deck incase I have to make an Emergency Oak.  Once again my Mr. Mime in the way of his victory, gusting out his unpowered Blastoise was my strategy and removing energy from his Blastoise to keep him there.  I manage to keep his Blastoise where he is, although Alex did make a kill with a Gust of Wind on one of my Magmars,  but it was too late he only had 3 cards in his deck and his energy supply doesn't look good, further more I still got an Item Finder just incase I need to remove some more.  He plays out his last few turns and I deck him, woo...what a match, very close if it wasn't for my Mr. Mime it would have ended a lot faster...

    Record: 3-0
    9 Points

Round 4-VS Mike S. with Potpourri

Same Mike as always, I know one thing that well determine the outcome of this match, he Bill's and Oak's too much and plays with Hitmonchan's with no Scoop Ups or Switches.  So....If I get in trouble a Scyther Stall can be put to work, we start the match up and toss attacks back and fourth, but my Removals are too much for him and I get my prizes faster then he does.  The match continues until a point when he gains momentum, I'm at 2  prizes and him 4, he has been Oaking and Billing a lot and his deck is low.  But he has much better card advantage then me and looks as if he can still get his 4 prizes, I go into defensive mode and wait out the 20 Min., putting the Scyther Stall into play, Removing,  Scooping and pretty much using every slang term for a Trainer.  I end up decking him instead of waiting out the 20 Min, which is perfectly fine too.  Fairly easy match, just used a strategy and it worked, lets hope it works again next week...

    Record: 4-0
    12 Points

Round 5-VS Mike R. with Curse Deck

A lot of Mikes?  Again this is the same Mike from last week and If I'm right the same deck, I'm not to worried about this deck, although Haunter is one annoying Pokemon.  I easily get quick kills on his Mewtwo and Ghastlies with Electabuzz, he is able to get Gengar out and Cursed my Mr. Mime until he died other then that, I dominated completely.  When he was at 5 prizes, I was at 1 so this game was pretty much in the pocket, I got a little restless and Oak'd twice and Bill'd a few times in search of a G.O.W., I found it and gusted out his weakened Hypno for the win.

    Record:5-0
    15 Points

I good finish this week, undefeated, I'm going try to find out my match record for my sanctioned tournaments, that should be interesting to see.

I'm still waiting for Wizards to process my Tournament results, so I'm still 8th in the World and have a 1968 rating.

Now its time for this weeks PROPS and SLOPS!

PROPS to Alex for coming in second, he played very well this week.
PROPS to Ditto who I didn't mention in my reports, but did a lot in my matches.

SLOPS to Anyone who was watching but didn't bother to join the tournament.
SLOPS to The kid who stole a Charizard from the binder.

Well that is all for this week, Oh yea, I almost forgot I came in first and got 3 Fossil Boosters and 1 Jungle Booster.  Well I hope you enjoy reading another one of my tourney reports :)
