The tournament I participated in was at "The Comic Shop" on 11/13/99.The 1st
prize was a strangely all 4 pokemon movie promo cards and a 1st edition
fossil booster. Cool huh? The turn out this time was pretty good- 10 people?!
I call my deck the New Age Haymaker.  Currently, my deck in testing.

Pokemon:15          Trainers: 18            Energy: 27

Mewtwo x3 (Promo)     Plus Power x4            Fighting Energy x10
Hitmonchan x3            C. Search x2              Psychic x9
Scyther x2                  Bill x3                        Grass x5
Aerodactyl x 2             Fossil x3                    DCE x3
Cahnsey x1                 Potion x2
Lickitung x2                 Oak x1
Farfetch'd x2                Imposter x1
                         E. Search x2

My first match was against a Fighting/Water Deck. The kid saw me pull out a
promo mewtwo and he started whining saying that was cheating.  The comic
store guy said it was fine that I was using one, but since no one else new
that, I had to take them out :(.   It was last minute, so I replaced them
with Fossil Magmars and the Pychic Energy with fire.

Round 1: Against that Fighting/Water Deck.  I forgot his name but all I saw
wwere a few geodudes and an eevee.  I got my Aerodactyl out on the second
turn and had scyther as my starter.  "Stone Barrage" never got more than one
flip. I never use Aerodactyl for battling, I just leave him on the bench.
All he could use were squirtles, geodudes, kangaskhans, and eevees, so my
basics took care of him.
Record:0-1

Round 2: Against a very tough Psy/Lightening Bench Killing Deck.  My
opponent's (jeff) deck consisted of Fossil Zapdos, Gengar, Raichu,
Electabuzz, and Mr. Mime.  This was a very tough match.  He started with a
Gastly, me with a farfetch'd.  I hit him out with a Leek Slap and a plus
power, but then he started evolving.  The match went on with him putting me
to sleep with hypnosis just about every turn. (I knew i should have added a
few GOW) He hit dreameater a few times also, destroying my Hitmonchans.
After that, all I had in my hand was a grass energy and I drew....A professor
OAK! I used it and finally got the cards i needed, but as soon as my chansey
started stalling against a Mr. Mime, I built up most of my pokemon, but so
did he.  Out came the Fossil Zapdos and he drew three prizes in one turn! He
used some Japanese Arcanine coin that was always heads.
1-1
Round 3: A Raindance. goodie.   I got lucky and had my Aerodactyl out on the
third turn before she could get out a wartortle.  She gusted for my
Aerodactyl and ko'd it with a lapras, but all of her bench had major damage
done by farfetch'd and scyther (60 damage on articuno-scyther on second
turn).  Later on in the match, she sent out a fully pumped Gyarados, I sent
out a fully energized Scyther. I slashed for a victory.
2-1
Round 4: I couldn't get to the finals, but third place isnt bad... I faced a
deck with venusaur, blastoise, and charizard. Too bad did  got my aerodactyl
out on the second turn, and Lickitung, slowly, but surely, killed all of his
blublasaur, charmander, and squirtle.  Then I saw a Mr. Mime! Oh no, Chansey
was in with no energy on it. I attached then retreated for Lickitung and I
toungue wrapped for a 6-0 (prizes) victory.
3-1
Third place, not bad for a last minute fix up deck.  Next time, I'll use
those Mewtwos, add a scoop-up, Gow, and energy removal. I got a jungle pack
for my victories and got nothing.  Next tournament....
