Hey Pojo, me again, time for another killer deck report.  Another Sunday, which means another tourney at Game Empire in San Diego.  There were about 25 people there, and the prize was 10 coveted fossil boosters.  Well, here's my deck, Psychic Tsunami, modified for fossil:

POKEMON:
Water-
4 Articuno
2 Lapras
3 Psyduck
2 Golduck
Psychic-
4 Abra
3 Kadabra
2 Alakazam
Colorless-
3 Chansey

ENERGY:
22 Water Energy

TRAINERS:
4 Bills
2 Gust of Winds
2 Pokemon Traders
3 Professor Oaks
2 Pokemon Centers
2 Pokemon Breeders
2 Computer Searches

The tourney was single elimination, without a point system.  Here's the report:

ROUND ONE:
I was against my friend, Sam.  I designed his deck, so I knew it's weaknesses and strongpoints.  It was a haymaker, but I could handle it.  He started off without any basics, but then he got one.  Hitmonchan from him vs. Chansey from me.  Oh well, Chansey was my only basic, what can I say.  I went first.  I drew a Computer Search, so I searched for Articuno, put him down on my bench, and attached a water energy.  Hitmonchan took out Chansey easily, but I already had a fully pumped Articuno active, and a Lapras, Kadabra, and another Chansey read to go.  Articuno dealt with Hitmonchan easily, but he managed to put down a Scyther.  I Oaked, and evolved Kadabra into Alakazam.  I was set.  Articuno laid the beatdown to Scyther, another Hitmonchan, and an Electrabuzz, when Sam ran out of basics.  Tough luck Sam.

1-0

ROUND TWO:
I played against some kid named James.  He knew the game pretty well, and was another fan of www.pojo.com .  I got junk in my hand, and all I managed to put down was a Chansey.  He was playing Eevee and it's evolutions.  He kept tailwagging Chansey, but I finally managed to Double-Edge Eevee.  He sent out a Jigglypuff, and I drew, an Abra.  I put it down, and Double-Edged again for the win.  Chansey, that suicidal poof-ball of doom.  Hehe...

ROUND THREE:
I knew this kid from school, but I didn't know that he ran Muk and Aerodactyl.  This would mean trouble for me.  I start with a god hand: Articuno, Lapras, Water, Water, Abra, Computer Search, and Professor Oak.  I put down Articuno, start to charge him up, put down Lapras, computer search for Kadabra, and Oak.  He has Mysterious Fossil.  He then proceeds to put down two more fossils, and a Grimer.  *Sigh.*  I quickly evolve Abra to Kadabra, and Oak, but no Alakazam.  I kill a Fossil.  I remember I don't get a prize.  Oh well.  Then, he puts down Muk and Aerodactyl.  Looks like he got a god hand too.  He manages to get out a Hitmonchan and Scyther.  Articuno takes out Hitmonchan, but Scyther still lingers.  Articuno has 60 damage when he finally takes out that pesky Scyther.  He sends out Muk, which kills my Articuno.  Lapras takes his place, and kills the Muk.  Unfortunately, Lapras is poisoned.  Lapras dies, and I have only Kadabra.  Since Fossil cannot retreat, Kadabra sits out there, and the kid decks himself.  (He had Oaked twice himself.)  That was a close call...

ROUND FOUR:
The winner of this match goes to the finals, and I get a bye, YES!

ROUND FIVE:
This is it.  He want to make a deal to split the grand prize, but I don't agree.  It's all or nothing baby!  He's running Grass/Psychic.  Muk/Gengar.  I got out Alakazam, but he killed it with Gengar.  Everything that I seem to put down is killed in two turns.  He draws all six prizes.

Oh well, at least I get my choice of any non-foil Fossil rare.  That's all for now!  This is Kyle (aka Gohandbzcool) signing out.
