# of Participants-10

Well here we go again!  This week fossil made its debut, but not a lot of people used it yet.  Mostly because it was released for about 2 days.  I went with my friend Alex K. again, hoping for a good turn-out of participants, but was only welcome by 10 people.  So it would be a fairly easy tournament, but with crap prizes.  2 Fossil Boosters or a Pokemon Card Album or Pokemon Collector's Price Guide, 1st place got first choice on prizes and so on for 2nd and 3rd place finishers.  Once again I used Potpourri, I intended to make some changes, like adding Energy Search or even Gambler, but with the time constraints I was unable to do so.

    Haymaker Potpourri

    Energy: 22

     7 Fighting
    6 Lighting
    6 Psychic
    3 Double Colorless

    Pokemon: 14

    3 Hitmonchan
    3 Electabuzz
    3 Mr. Mime
    3 Scyther
    1 Kangaskhan
    1 Ponyta

    Trainers: 24

    3 Bill
    3 Professor Oak
    3 Gust of Wind
    3 Super Energy Removal
    2 Energy Removal
    2 Plus Power
    2 Energy Retrieval
    2 Item Finder
    2 Scoop Up
    1 Computer Search
    1 Lass

Now for what happened @ the tournament, there were 6 rounds in total, I'm also working hard on trying to remember my opponent's names and how the match goes.  I don't generally have time to write everything down, since I want to devote my mind to playing the game and not writing.

Round 1-VS Erick B. with Potpourri Variant

So well, well, well....Someone who read my deck reports and is now using Potpourri, this ought to interesting...Well he starts with Electabuzz and me Scyther and Mime.  I'm able to get my own Electabuzz and retreat my beat up Scyther, I start beating down on him now.  He struggles through out the rest of the match, while I get some quick prizes.  My Mr. Mime has the game pretty much wrapped up, killing off already damaged Scythers and Electabuzz's.  By the end I think he only got one prize...:)

Record: 1-0
3 Points

Round 2-VS Dinh ?. with Grass/Water

This guy is really annoying, but friendly, he is always saying he is gonna lose and his deck sucks and such.  Well his deck does suck, my Pokemon just tear their way straight through.  Hitmonchan and Scyther held down his weak basics to get my 6 prizes in lighting speed.

Record: 2-0
6 Points

Round 3-VS Jon U. with a Grass/Lighting

Early in the game he couldn't bring out the right energies, I started with Electabuzz, and him a Koffing.  Because he was energy stalled, I was able to get 2 prizes.  I targeted mostly his Grass Pokemon and saving the Lighting Pokemon until I can get my Hitmonchan.  By the time I got Hitmonchan, I only had about 2 prizes left to get.  So I promoted my Hitmo. and destroyed his Fossil Raichu and his Jungle Pikachu for the win.

Record: 3-0
9 Points

Round 4-VS Mike S. with Fire/Water

I started with Scyther and Mime, him Goldeen and a couple Eevee's.  I stalled for a bit until I was able to get Electabuzz down on the board.   My E.R. and his S.E.R. screwed him for the rest of the game and I just beat him down with Electabuzz and Scyther.  I just matched up the weaknesses and the game was over for him.

Record: 4-0
12 Points

Round 5-VS Alex K. with Fighting/Grass (Turbo Wiggly)

The match was slow to start since with exchanged a massive E.R. and S.E.R. wave, but I pulled through since he only had Pinsirs and Scythers down.  They are generally slow when you use E.R. and S.E.R. against them like 10 times.  My Hitmonchan and G.O.W. took out the Pinsirs and when his energy finally showed for him his Wiggly tried to make a stand, unfortunately Wiggly was no match for my Hitmo.  I slowly, but surely killed off all his Pokemon.

Record:5-0
15 Points

Round 6-VS Cory S. with Alakazam/Mr. Mime Stall Deck

Oh Great...A stall deck, I hate playing these kind of decks, he opens with a lone Abra and me a Ponyta, not good for either of us.  He goes first and paralyzes me, I go and use my Bill getting a 2 Hitmo's.  Yes, because I have a Pluspower in my hand...:)  I lay down Hitmo. and Power up with one fighting energy, he goes and can't paralyze me...It's over for him, I retreat Ponyta, send out Hitmo., Pluspower and Jab his poor little Abra.  I win the match, the fastest win of the day...30 Sec. or so.  :)

Record:6-0
18 Points

Well I went undefeated for another tournament! :)  Placing 1st, I picked the two 1st Edition Fossil Boosters (Moltres R-H and Raichu R-H).  Which is not to bad at all...I'm still waiting for my DCI rating to be updated, but the sloth like movement of Wizards has been taking like 2 weeks since the last update...Man they are slow!  Well that's what happened this week, I hope Deja Vu attracts more people next week, they put out a sign on the front sidewalk to advertise the place a bit more...

Now its time for this weeks PROPS and SLOPS!

PROPS to John Halji for telling some annoying kid to "Shut Up!"
PROPS to My luck for getting good cards in the boosters I won and bought.
PROPS to Steven Halji for setting things straight in the tournament, kicked out someone for being a pest, and making good judge decisions.

SLOPS to Joe J. Derro and John Halji again for plainly being annoying, all good fun of course.
SLOPS to Erick for beating my friend Alex during the tournament, he also pissed of the Judge so I give him a SLOP.
SLOPS to Some guy who kept on saying Pokemon sucked, but stayed and watched anyway.
SLOPS to ALL card shops on having outrageous prices on boosters now, Fossil now comes to $7.50 (CAN) after taxes.
SLOPS to Wizards for being so freaking slow.

As you can tell there were more SLOPS then PROPS this week, mostly because of the low amount of Participants.  Probably its because it is Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada.  My rating is still sitting at 1705, but it should be updated soon...I hope.

Well that's it for this week, and I almost forgot thanks to The Pojo and Scott for picking my Reports for Sept.  They are hard to write up every week, with Homework and my Job and all.
