Well a week has passed, I walked 15 Minutes with my sister to Deja Vu and it wasn't fun, stupid Coke was freezing up my hands, in case you don't know I live in Canada and it gets cold up here.  To bad it hasn't snowed yet, all this global warming stuff is shortening our winters, : P.  Well when the tournament began, I was sort of surprised with a new turn-out record at Deja Vu, this would be the largest Sanctioned tourney I've been to, LoL.  The turn-out was 20 people, about 15 or so old faces and 5 new ones, so prizes would be good, or spread out.  But I don't really care I just like the competition, fun and winning of course.  Well as usual I'm using my Haymaker, with a few tweaks to fight the Metagame, other Hamakers pretty much.

    1 Computer Search

Ok you may be wonder about my odd choice of Pokemon, first off Jigglypuff is a excellent Mr. Mime killer, Promo Mewtwo basher and any other Psy. Pokemon destroyer.  Likitung however is very, very slow and his attacks do nothing, pretty much here to stall in case I face a deck that gets a jump on me, also he is another prime Psy. killer which will become prime in several matches.  So without further or do, here is what happened this week at Deja Vu.

    Round 1-VS Jon U. with Pre-Fossil Potpourri

I think Jon copied this deck from a Beckett magazine that had Scott's Potpourri deck before fossil, he doesn't play with Ponyta and has more Kangaskhans.  He starts off going first and Oaking on the first turn.  I quickly realize that he will most likely be decking himself in a hurry, we continue the match with him play a lot of removals, and on my side I am also playing a lot of removals.  We eventually both start taking prizes, it bounce back and fourth, Electabuzz falling to Hitmonchan, Hitmonchan falling to Electabuzz.  Mr. Mime is splashed down and is gonna take down 2 guys in a hurry, he takes out a Hitmonchan receiving 20 in the process, and then I gust out a Electabuzz with 30 on it and take it down.  This was very crucial since before hand he was a head two prizes with his Hormone's relentless assault with High Jumps Kicks.  I lost and Electabuzz and Magmar in a hurry from that, but with Mr. Mime counter attacking I was able to bring the game to my side again, he is able to take out Electabuzz and the prizes now stand at 2-2, I go into defensive mode since he has 5 cards left in his deck.  Scooping up twice my Magmar, and S.E.R. his Electabuzz gave me the deck win.

    Record: 1-0
    3 Points

Round 2-VS  John H. with Promo Mewtwo Haymaker
This deck is much faster then mine, he had faced off against my sister previously and blew her away, I was able to finish early from Round 1, and watched the remainder of the there match.  My sister had 5 prizes, and he had 2, safe to say that he won big time.  We started the game, I let Likitung out and he had Scyther and a Mr. Mime on the bench, Likitung is great at slowing down this deck.  I attack and stall at the same time with Likitung, building up my bench, he is constantly removing and it is very hard to do so, when Likitung is at Max. Damage, I just Scoop him, and resend him out (Thanks to Scyther).  This buys me enough time and is annoying him a lot at the same time, I Scoop Likitung up for the last time and send out Buzz, to do some damage.  The match finally picks up from this point, I'm able to keep up with the 40 a turn from his Mew with Thunderpunch/Meditate maneuvers.  When we both reach 3/3 in prizes, the time limit is called, and we go until the next Pokemon dies, amazingly enough I was able to keep up with John unlike last week where I was in trouble.  As I had been expecting his deck was very low at this point, 5 actually and I have my Likitung out once again, I only Oaked once the entire game, so my deck was pretty well filled.  I stall with him temporarily and Item Finder and Scoop him up sending out Mr. Mime.  By now he is out of his key Pokemon to take out Mime, Electabuzz, all he has left is a Mewtwo, Scyther and his own Mime, he Comp. Searches and finds out he has no more Electric energy in his deck.  We play another 2 turns and he concedes, I end up being the victor, *Don-Don* game of the day, I was able to pull another win to his amazingly fast deck.

    Record: 2-0
    6 Points

    Round 3-VS Daniel B. with a Fire/Lighting Haymaker

Dan uses Electabuzz and Magmar in his deck, no mimes though, and some colorless evolution strands, he starts with Electabuzz and Clefairy on the bench, I get Magmar and Mr. Mime.  My Smokescreen works 3 turns in a row, while I build up my Mr. Mime, retreat and kill his Electabuzz, he sends out Clefairy, by now he still has no bench support.  I retreat Mime, and send Electabuzz a charging, Thundershock him and end my turn, he makes his last attempt and Sing's it fails and I go and finish the game for the win with a Thunderpunch

    Record: 3-0
    9 Points

Round 4-VS John N. with Raindance

A Raindance deck to play and beat, he starts with a Seel and Krabby, and me an Electabuzz, Scyther and plenty of Lighting Energy, he goes first and Seel does 10 to Scyther.  I go and natural send Electabuzz out, Thundershock and Paralyze, he goes plays an energy on the benched Krabby and removes my Lighting energy, preventing from an even faster win.  I go and shock again and this time no paralyze, he goes lays an energy one Seel for some reason and evolves to Dewgong, I Thunderpunch for the kill next turn, he has no bench support as he sends out Krabby, lays another energy and Call for Family.  I go and Punch that Krabby for another prize.  He sends out his next Krabby without energy and ends his turn, I go and win the game with another Thunderpunch.

    Record: 4-0
    12 Points

    Round 5-VS Mike S. with Pre-Fossil Potpourri

Well this would have to be yet another feature match up, but I'm pretty confidant to get the win here, I start with Mime and Magmar, he gets Scyther and Mime, he gets to go first and plays an energy onto Mr. Mime, I go and start and play an energy onto my own Mime, I'm lacking the Fire Energy at this point, he goes lays another energy onto Mime and does Meditate for 20.  I go get a Likitung and play an energy onto it, S.E.R. Mime and Scoop Mime up.  Likitung is out and I Tongue Wrap with paralyze.  He goes and gets an Electabuzz and starts to build it, at the same time I notice he has already Bill'd three times and Oak'd once, this is eminent to me that he can't find the right cards, probably energy.  The game for a while is me Building my bench while attacking with Likitung, I can't get him out of there with his Mondo retreat cost, but he is damaging a variety of Pokemon for Meditate range.  I'm finally able to get my Likitung out of there with a Scoop Up and send out Mime against his Ditto, his Ditto has exactly 40 on him and dies due to his own Power.  I quickly claim a prize, and Scoop Up Mr. Mime and send out Magmar to greet his next Pokemon his own Mr. Mime, I Smog it and poison.  Mike is now in a heat of trouble even though the prizes are 5 for me and 6 for him, he is seriously having some card problems, he retreats and sends out Scyther and Oaks once more. Getting nothing again he leaves Scyther there, I go and do 50 to his Scyther, he retreats and finally is able to get something going, and boy does he get it going.  His Hitmonchan comes out and does 20 to me, I go and my Smog fails to poison, he goes adds another energy onto Chan and Jab's again.  I again am unable to get the poison of Smog, he retreats and sends out Electabuzz to get the job finished, I send my Own Electabuzz out and Punch it for 30 and 10 to my self, I'm getting some really bad rolls here.  He goes and Thunderpunch's for 40, and of course when I Thunderpunch I roll odd and do 30, he takes out my Electabuzz and is ahead in prizes by one.  By now his deck is down to 5, that is how slow this game has gone, he also used a lot of Oaks and Bills, he ends up conceding having nothing left to throw at me.

    Record:5-0
    15 Points

Well I went undefeated again, this tournament was definitely the hardest one, facing of against 4 Haymakers and a Raindance is pretty tough, but I had luck on my side and my experience with the game helped out a lot.  I got Beckett Pokemon Collector's Magazine, One 1st Edition Fossil Pack, Jungle Pack, and a Base Set Booster.  I pulled a Holo-Kabutops, Wigglytuff and Charizard!  Well I sold the Charizard for $25 which I think is well worth considering I got it for free, piece of paper, and the one of the worst cards.  I mean come on Charizard fans lets face the reality, Mr. Mime, Aerodactal, S.E.R., E.R., and about 100 other things, how will you contend with that?

Well I went back a place in the world going 6th, but that's still good, Scott Gernhardt took my 5th spot place, I'll get it back though, somehow...*Put his cards through and paper shredder*...Hmm....Whoops! LoL.  Also with Deja Vu now carrying some Base Set Booster, there is hope of a Pokemon Draft sometime, most expensive though even if we go by 30 or 40 card decks.
.
Now its time for this weeks PROPS and SLOPS!

PROPS to Everyone who played me, they all played very well.
PROPS to The booster and gave me Charizard, $25 bucks rather.
PROPS to Deja Vu for hosting a good tourney this week, 20 people that is great, lets go for 25 now!

SLOPS to My Mom who made us walk to Deja Vu and home from Deja Vu instead of giving us a ride.
SLOPS to Alex for not coming, not really his fault but I'll giving a SLOP anyway.

This is the Canadian Pokemon Champion,
