Tourney Held at Allisons Sport's Cards
Crystal Lake, Illinois
Saturday November 27th, 12:00 am

ok peeps, the tourney went well for me, as I got some fossil boosters, and a
blackout deck in the end as I placed 1st. Here is my Deck Layout

Energy - 24
3 Double Colorless Energy
14 Psychic Energy
7 Grass Energy

Basic Pokemon - 12
3 Ghastly (fossil)
3 Slowpoke
3 Drowzee
3 Scyther

Evolution Pokemon - 8
3 Slowbro
3 Hypno
2 Haunter (fossil)

Trainers - 16
3 Computer Search
3 Pokemon Center
2 Professor Oak
2 Gust of Wind
4 Super Energy Removal
3 Energy Removal

Total Cards = 60

The Strategy of this deck is to stall with your slowbros and haunters,
prophicize and kill the bench with the hypnos, get back energy with ghastlys,
and wipe them down with the scythers. use the trainers well, the computer
searches are for getting evolutions or a prof oak if you need it. The
pokecenters are for the slowbros, i usually have two on my bench to suck up
the damage, and i don't even bother adding energy to them. Energy Removals to
Stall  them until they have no energy left. Gust of Wind in case a pokemon
has resistance to psy (dragonair / kangaskhan).

Here is the results of the tourney. It was a elimination, there were 5 rounds
and approx 20 people.

Round One
Slowbro Stall vs. Venusaur Deck

This was a pretty fun match. I started with a pretty good hand: 2 psy energy,
slowpoke, hypno, scyther, er, and gust. I Put out my scyther with the poke on
the bench. He got a bulbasaur and a tauros. I went first and poped a grass on
my scyther and danced. next I picked up a double colorless, and to his dismay
i used the gust to get the tauros out removed the energy on the bulba and
slashed his tauros... my prize was a slowbro... heh heh. He put another
energy on his bulbasaur, awaiting death at my hands... I get a ghastly and
put a psy energy on it slash, he goes and leechseeds my scyth but its over
for him. I win!

Round Two
Slowbro Stall vs. Haymaker

my deck was an anti haymaker deck so all I can say is that i won with barely
no effort. This guy put up a little fight with his kangaskhans but nothing
that my scythers could not handle. I got my bench stocked with two slowbros,
two haunters and a scyther with a hypno out. I wiped down his farfeched with
Dark mind, and kept the kangaskhan out with my super energy removals. He had
no chance, seeing that I had only one prize left and a pumped up scyther. I
love my deck.

Round Three
Bye Game. Scince i went 2 and 0 i got to play a bye and let the other 4
people play

Round Four
Slowbro Stall vs. Rainmaker

I will tell you this was the closest game ever. This guy had an awesome
strategy with his blastoise and his other pokemon. It ended up we both had 2
prizes left, I put out my scyther and killed his gyra, he put out his
blastoise and killed my scyther. it was getting close so i put out the
haunter to stall for a little while, and it worked! he never even touched it
and had to retreat his blastoise that had too much damage. He was running low
on cards, and he sent out a tauros. He got heads on the stomp, so i strange
behavioured the damage to my bro. He had one card left picked it up, gusted
my slowbro with the 30 damage from the previous turn, and it was all up to
the flip... if it was heads i would lose, tails i would win. It was so close
i shut my eyes... and it turned out tails. my bro had 50 damage, i then
picked my card ended my turn and won the game. wow was that close. that was a
great match.

Round 5 (final round)
Slowbro Stall vs. Hot Haymaker

This deck was based on magmars, rapadash's, mr. mimes, and dragonairs. I was
scared of it. basicly it had my weakness and resistances. It started real bad
for me, my hand had a drowzee, a scyther and 2 grass and 3 psy energy. He had
a magmar, a ponyta, and a mr. mime which he put out first. I sent out my
drowzee to pound him for 20, and he sent out his pony to burn my drowzee for
30. gust of wind his mr.mime and pound it to death while i put a grass on my
scyth... "please get a good card on my prize i said to myself"... the prize
to my happiness was an oak. He toasted my scyther for 30 and put down a
dratini with a double colorless... I oaked and got two slow pokes, a slowbro,
double colorless, 2 psy energy, and a ghastly. I slashed his pony for my
second kill. he brought out his benched dratini and pounded my scyther for
the kill, I sent out ghastly... im thinking here is where i die. next draw is
a gust of wind (my last one i need to save) i put a psy on my ghastly and
lick him, no damage but a paralyze. to my dismay he evolves the dratini and
slams me for 30... I get a scyth in my draw, and put the damage on my
slowbro. I then energy conversion for the double colorless and the grass from
the previous scyther. He puts fire on his dragonair, and hyperbeams the
haunter. I draw a super energy removal, use the last energy on my ghastly to
use it, retreat the ghastly and send out the scyther and rip through the
dragonair. after this the guy runs out of energy and cant do anything against
me except kill my scyther and face the haunter and hypno. I won in the end by
getting all my prizes.

winner of the tourney - 1st place

10 fossil packs and one premade deck (blackout)

I opened five of the packs and i got dragonair, ditto holo, aerodactyl,
gengar, and kabutops (holo) the others i sold to my friends.
