Well, this week I'm writing up my first Apprentice tourney instead of my usual Deja Vu Game ones, well I'll add a small thing about Deja Vu at the end its not pretty though, I came 3rd which is my worst finish at a sanctioned tourney ever. Well I'll give the deck I used at the Apprentice tourney now and the one at Deja Vu later.

    Hot Jalapeno Potpourri

    Energy: 22

    7 Fire
    6 Lighting
    6 Psychic
    3 Double Colorless

    Pokemon: 13

    3 Fossil Magmar
    3 Electabuzz
    3 Mr. Mime
    3 Scyther
    1 Fossil Ghastly

    Trainers: 25

    4 Bill
    3 Professor Oak
    3 Gust of Wind
    3 Super Energy Removal
    2 Energy Removal
    2 Plus Power
    2 Item Finder
    2 Scoop Up
    2 Mr. . Fuji
    1 Energy Retrieval
    1 Computer Search

Not many changes here, just trying out Ghastly, Free Retreat, good Mr. Mime Slayer, resist fighting, and cheap attacks.  Just an out of the blue guy to try in my deck that's all...

The apprentice tournament took 3 rounds, I'm not sure what format AerisVII is using, but I'll just say what happened since that is what is important, how did I do.  So with further or do here are the 3 rounds I played...

    Round 1-VS Shinji_ikari with a Stall Deck

I'm not actually sure if his deck was a stall deck or not since he never did get Alakazam out, but I did see an Abra and Kadabra in a fun game we played earlier.  This guy is just annoying and I didn't like him at all, but I kept my cool and played the game through.  It was a looong game, I got into some energy problems only taking out to of his guys while he does the same.  But lucky for me he has all his Pokemon played down, 2 Scyther, 2 Mr. Mime and 2 Mewtwo, so I promote the Mr. Mime and stall since his deck is about 3 cards lower then mine.  I just meditate here and there and soon enough all his Pokemon are damaged until Mr. Mime will only take one meditate to kill.  I leave it at that and let the game go on for a safe deck win, I Fuji a Scyther and Magmar with energies galore on them to insure my Victory.  This guy is actually chatting and not paying much attention to the game too, so that's just annoying he also thinks he is gonna come down on me like the force of nature or something stupid. Well I beat him with a deck win.

    Record: 1-0

    Round 2-VS Randomaxxes with a Grass/Fighting

Match was no problem, he got a Kangaskhan out and Comet Punched early only doing 20 though, I quickly kill him off along with another one.  He now only has Grass for the time being, Magmar eats up and Oddish and cripples several Scythers, Mr. Mime finishes off a few Pokemon for some quick prizes.  He tries to get Hitmonchan rolling but Scyther ate him up.  Overall the match was lock, load and blow his Pokemon sky high, the old weakness and resistance game prevailed this time and it only made this match easier.

Record: 2-0

Round 3 presumingly the Final Round-VS Randomaxxes with a Grass/Fighting

Again huh? I start with one Scyther and him a Scyther and Oddish, I go first and play an energy, he goes and plays a Grass energy and Sword dances.  Not wanting to have a second turn kill on me I do the only thing I can do, Gust out a Hitmonchan he just played and Slash it, he goes and powers his Scyther up.  He had no DCE! or a Pluspower for that matter, oh well I go play down a Buzz power it and Slash+PP and get an early prize.  He sends out Scyther and slashes me, now I S.E.R. him and the game is turned completely for me, I slash down his Scyther, Oddish and Magmar hits the board.  Magmar begins his massacre and tears through Oddish, and Venonat, he annoyed me with few good Stun Spore Flips, but he eventually flipped tails and Magmar finished Oddish up.  I have one prize now and he has  bench with nearly everyone hurt, he sends out Scyther and slashes Magmar, for the kill.  I send out Mime, gust out a oddish with 20 damage on it and meditate for the victory.

Well the tourney ended there, and I won it!  My first apprentice tourney, but the funny thing is AerisVII said I was undefeated, but I did lost in one round against a guy named Peter, I guess it didn't count or it was a mix up.  Oh well it wasn't for prizes so who cares right?

PROPS to AerisVII for hosting my first tourney.
PROPS to Randomaxxes for coming 2nd I believe he did very good for his deck.

SLOPS to My first opponent for being so annoying

ENCORE!

As I promised I would tell you what happened at Deja Vu...

Deja Vu Games

Saturday, November 27, 1999
Time: 2:00PM
Single Elim.
Pokemon Constructed
12 Participants

Well you know the deck I use, it is not the same as the one from above but close so I'm not gonna bother Copying and Pasting, fingers are sorta tired here.

    Well here's the report...

Round 1-VS Alex K. with Haymaker

Alex is playing a Haymaker with Aero., so it is pretty much useless to my deck, I pretty much have this game, he can't find his energy and when he does I remove.  I got two quick kills on his Aero. he evolved with my friend Scyther, He is too deep in the hole to dig out and I'm dumping sand on him now so he can't recover and falls deeper into a depression and I win.

    Record: 1:0
    Point: 3

    Round 2-VS ??? ?. with Psychic

This match went quick and I didn't catch his name, he started with Abra and me a Buzz, I go and shock him for 10 he returns the favor with his own shock and no paralyze.  I go and win with the final blow a Thunderpunch into Abra's big head.

    Record: 2-0
    Point 6

Round 3-VS Mike. S with Haymaker Potpourri

Man, I hate playing this guy, although I usually win, this week I don't  I'm forced to Oak and Bill more then normal and they don't help me with my current position, I'm behind by two prizes, he has 1 and I have 3.  I fell behind early and didn't catch up, I play it out and he gets his last prize with Gust of Win and kills my Magmar.

    Record: 2-1
    Point 6

    Round 4-VS Chris F. with Fire/Water

Well I'm not going into any detail here, I destroyed him big time, no deck from the Big 3 is gonna give my deck problems.  I'm pretty shocked with my horrible loss against Mike so I'll play without mercy.  Electabuzz gets rid of his Crabbiest and Kinglers and that is the match, I saw one fire Pokemon, Magmar, but it fell quickly and I went back to my routine killing off pesky water pokemon.  He managed to kill my two Electabuzz in the process of me killing 5 of his though.  I finish the game with a Ditto Crabhammering his Kingler.

    Record: 3-1
    Point 9

    Round 5-Vs Erik B.

He cheats mega I must say, 62 card deck, and plays his turn structure wrong and takes his turn if he thinks I'm nearly finish.  I gotta teach him a thing or two, I get 5 quick prizes with Electabuzz and Magmar and I'm serious.  I E.R. and S.E.R. him a lot on my last prize he starts catching up getting to two prizes left.  We are in a dead lock but there's 30 sec left and he is taking his time on his turn and thinks of a way to get a prize to tie the game.  He cant and I win at 20 Min.

    Record: 4-1
    Point: 12

Well that was it, the tourney was close with 4 people with exact same points, but Mike and one of the store employees had a better tiebreaker so they won instead not to worry there is always next week...

PROPS to Well nothing, it was a pretty bad tourney for me.
PROPS to But, I had a fun time playing fun games with the Store Owner and Alex.

SLOPS to Erik B. for cheating a lot or so it seemed to me
SLOPS to Some people who complained about stolen cards, then there parents came in telling the Deja Vu they didn't care (Should                             they?) and some                         other dumb stuff

Well that was that for this extra long report, sorry for my non-details but I don't got that much time anymore to write these up they drain a lot from me...

Bye, Bye
