Hey Pojo, my Scyther Energy Removal deck report i sent in, was not a very
good report, i didnt have a lotta time to write it cause i was at a friends,
i re wrote it, here it is!

                                                                   Pokemon
Constructed
At Name of the Game San Diego CA
                                    November 27th
                                    14 Participants

I went to my friend Will's house the weekend of a Pokemon tournament at
his local card store "Name of the Game"  He played a fast Lightning Deck that
has won the last 2 Tournaments, I am using an original Grass Psychic Deck I
made a few days before.  It looked like there was only be 6 people, but 8
people arrived after the tournament had just begun, and turned into 14.
Unfortuanlly this  tournament was not DCI!  They will be next month though!
Here is what was in my deck.

Pokemon (14)

4 Scyther (the damage dealer)
4 Mr. Mime (pokemon power is great, and teamed with Scyther can do a lot of
damage)
3 Drantini (Mr. Mime killer, used to evolve into Dragonair)
3 Dragonair (kills Mr. Mime better, also removes energy)

Trainers (23)

4 Plus Power ( great for early kills)
4 Energy Removal ( the theme of the deck)
4 Super Energy Removal ( the theme of the deck)
3 Professor Oak ( re stoke your cards)
3 Computer Search ( find an oak to re stock your cards)
3 Scoop Up ( keep your pokemon from death!)
2 Gust of Wind ( Always nice to use for an extra prize)

Energy (23)

10 Grass
9 Psychic
4 Double Colorless

Explanation:  For anyone who does not understand the deck, ill explain how to
win.  Basically you wanna keep their energy low using the energy removal
cards and Dragonair.  Use Scyther in any situation where you need to deal
damage, and if that pokemon is not resistant to Psychic, retreat the Scyther
and put in Mr. Mime.  Scoop up Damaged Pokemon, and Gust of Wind in Pokemon
for Kills.  Comp Search is for getting Prof Oak's.  Oak is for getting the
cards you need.  One problem with the deck is that it's usually gonna win
when low on cards, so maybe add 1 gambler  to try and dump some cards back
into the deck.  Now onto the Report

The Tournament was placed into 3 rounds.  We play 3 games, and get a point
for Each Win, then the 2 best records play each other, and the 3rd and 4th
face each other.  You get Prizes depending on your placement in this final.

ROUND 1: Vince, Vince was playing a Fire Deck, with Magmar (Fossil) Ponyta,
Rapidash, Vulpix and Ninetales.  Pretty much an anti me deck.  Not good for
me.

Game 1:  I started with Scyther, he started with Magmar, already bad news for
me.  He took down Scyther and a couple other pokemon, with energy removal,
but I kept his energy equally low.  It came down to Vulpix confusing a Mr.
Mime of mine, and after that was not able to recover.  He draws all 6 Prizes
and wins the 1st game.     (0 - 1)

Game 2:  Ack! My only basic was a Dratini!  Luckily I drew an oak and came
back.  He was drawing little energy removal, which allowed my Scyther to to
get me Several Prizes.  Near the end he was able to stall, and I had to Oak
twice to keep alive, a Scyther killed his Magmar and got me to 1 prize left.
Running out of time, he decided his best bet was put use smoke screen.  I got
heads on the flip and did 30 to his Magmar.  Now with no cards left in my
deck, I retreated Scyther and put in Mr. Mime and got my last prize..PHEW!
(1 - 1)

Game 3:  A lot easier, he had as much energy removal as me, I kept him low,
but he kept me lower, and was able to knock off all my Scythers with Magmars.
He took care of my Mimes with his Vulpixes, and got all of his Prizes.  (1 -
2)

ROUND 2: Sean, Sean got the nickname "999 Hurley International"  because he
was wearing a Hurley Shirt and While Will was distracting him that came to
his attention.  He placed Second Last tournament so I was a little worried.
He was playing a very annoying Mr. Mime stall Hay Deck, very hard to beat.

Game 1:  We both Opened with Scyther I Swords Danced, and so did he I removed
his energy used double colorless  and Plus Power  got his Scyther.  To Stall
he used Chansey till he could  Scoop up and put out a full power Mr. Mime or
Electabuzz.  He had Problem keeping his energy, due to my removals.
Eventually my Scyther caught up with him and killed all off his pokemon, and
got all 6 Prizes.  I defiantly won this one due to better game play.  (2 - 2)

Game 2:  longest and most difficult all day, he actually killed more pokemon
then me.  He used Chansey way more effective but I got all of my energy
removal and a fully powered Dragonair  so he had energy problems all game, We
both Used Prof Oak 2 Times, by with no cards left in my deck I decked him,
and won.  He probably lost due to Bill's. (3 - 2)

Game 3:  He got a bad hand, he only got 2 Basics, a Scyther and an
Electabuzz, they were easily killed off  and he ran out of Basic's.  (4 - 2)

ROUND 3:  Frankie, Frankie is not his real name, he cant say anyone else's
correctly and it was getting on me and Will's Nerves so we gave him a new
name, Frankie!  He was playing a Deck similar to mine, as far as energy
Removal and Scythers, but it ran Clefable, Clefairy, and Lickitugs, Mainly to
defeat Mr. Mime, and Clefable, was to defeat Will (since he had Zapdos)  and
was probably ready to get back due to having a hard time against that deck in
the last few finals.

Game 1:  we Both Opened with Scyther Sword Dance, and energy removals.  He
Managed to get out Clefable  and killed Scythers, I thought I had his when I
got out Mr. Mime, till he got Lickitung, and killed Mime with Plus Powers!
He slowly got all of his prizes, Defiantly the hardest deck I faced all day!
(4 - 3)

Game 2: He got only 1 Clefairy, I got Scyther, I beat him within a few turns,
since he was never able to keep my Scyther Asleep to stall. ( 5 - 3)

Game 3:  This was another Close one, it came down to I couldn't deal  with
Lickitung, and I drew many Mr. Mimes, My Scythers were easily taken Care of
with Clefables and other Scythers, He also amazed me by coming up with a use
of minimize, he used that to keep Clefable alive for an extra turn while he
got an extra energy on Scyther, then retreated Clefable and used a non
damaged Scyther to defeat mine.  He draws all prizes and I lose!   NOTE:  He
has friends watching the game, and talking in another language, Japanese or
Chinese, or something Similar.  Also he has been caught Cheating before, and
the people at Name of the Game are now aware of  this and if is caught again
will be thrown out.  To bad I since notice this till afterwards! (5 - 4)

Well, that was the end of the rounds, there was a 3 way tie between me Du
(Frankies brother) and an older man named Derek.  We had to have a Final 3
play off for the last spot.  Derek had to play Du, and after about a
45-minute game Du Finally won.  I am now going to play Du for the Final spot.

Play off Vrs. Du, Du was playing a Grass Water Deck  With Scyther and
Articuno.  NOTE:  Du was talking a lot of trash through the day, so it's my
turn to get even with him!

Game 1:  I get a GREAT hand Oak Energy Removal Scyther Double Colorless
PERFECT!  He gets a Horrible hand 2 Basics, He made a huge Mistake by using
Mr. Fuji on a weak Articuno!  And brought the other out to stall, well since
he did not draw another  Pokemon I won.  Deck Construction Error! He Should
have used Scoop up, his Brother has enough cards!!! (6 - 4)

                              ********

FINAL ROUND:  Bad news I have to play Vince again!  That fire Deck was hell
the first round!

Game 1:  I once again had an awesome hand, I went crazy with energy removal,
and he was never able to recover from an early Scyther Flogging!  I nailed 6
Pokemon and won the first game!  (1 - 0)

Game 2:  Average Hand, I got Scyther to open, but no Oaks Computer Searches
OR Energy Removals to get rid of his energy!  He once again had way to many
basics for my Pokemon to Deal with and his Magmar.  He slowly got all 6
Prizes Through a Magmar and a Vulpix (killing my Mimes)  and I lost this
game, there is 1 left to play.  ( 1 - 1)

Game 3:  This was a very good game, We Both had Great Hands, but my Deck is
Built tough and was able to get rid of 2 Magmars, through Scoop ups and Mr.
Mimes!  I finally got his Pokemon Down, just 1 Magmar, Since I used so much
energy removal he was never able to get off enough strong attacks!  I finally
kill his basic and place 3rd in the tournament!  Not bad!  I only wish they
had run the Finals like they do for Magic, because I would have got to play
for 1st and 2nd place Prizes.  ( 2 - 1)

Overall it was a good tournament I won only $7 dollars because 3rd place
only gets 10% of the money brought in!  I'm still yet to spend it, although I
am gonna try to get myself some Clefables!

Now its tome for everyone's favorite Sections PROPS! And SLOPS!

PROPS

Prop - I placed 3rd, and seeing I did very poorly in the last one I am very
happy, so I get a nice Prop for good game play!

Prop - Will get a Prop for another great Tournament, especially for going 9 -
0 in the rounds! First time anyone has ever done that at our store!

Prop - The StoreOwner "Chris"  He gave me Cash instead of Store Credit!  And
Pokemon packs are at an outrageous Price their ($5.38 with tax)  that was
very cool of him.

Prop - Scyther, He had Slain many pokemon throughout the day!

Prop - Vince, He was very cool by the end of the day, and was a very good
opponent, although did make a few mistakes in the tournament.

Prop - Lance, he was the maker of Vinces Deck, he provided much entertainment
with pokemon Matches Later on, and commented on how hard it is to play my
deck.

SLOPS!

Slop - Frankie!  For Mostly Likely Cheating again (using his friends and
speaking in another languages while they looked at my cards in hand!)  and
beating Will

Slop - Sean!  He was being a real jerk, and would not shake my hand after out
match!  SLOP for Sean!  ( I did rush him though)

Slop - Du, He was acting up after I beat him for the final spot.  Also he was
talking smack all day!

Slop - Clefable Very annoying card, I am gonna try to get my hands on some
though, if Frankie can use it well, so will I!

Slop - This is the least important Slop, which is to Name of the Game for
Changing SO much for Pokemon Packs!!!  $5.38!  $9 and something for 1st
edition Jungle!

Well, it was a very fun tournament.  The day after the tournament there
was a Rep from WotC (Wizards of the Coast)  and is the number 1 player in the
city by DCI ranking, I talked with him, and learned a lot of new info, so I
may try a using Fossil Magmar, and maybe Wigglytuff and Jigglypuff.
