I saw the article on Pokimon Diamond/Jade and I thought I would help dispel the rumor even farther by showing everybody exactly what it is. 

Pokimon Diamond and Jade are Hacks of the games Keitai Denjuu Telefang (Power Version) and Keitai Denjuu Telefang (Speed Version) developed by Smilesoft. The only thing the hack had changed is the main title screen so it reads Pokimon Diamond or Jade and an English Translation. The rest of the game remains the same. The game itself is very similar to Pokimon (such as Dragon Warrior Monsters) hence it can be easily mistaken for Pokimon. Here are some screenshots from the original game:
