Subject: Green Glowy Stuff ---------- Slowly, the door to the recently vacated Satoshi's Shop creaks open, the darkness pierced by a single beam of sunlight. A lone figure dressed in a trenchcoat, jeans and a shirt with "ph34r" emblazoned on the front steps in, an Umbreon perched on his shoulder. Under his arm, he carries a rolled up blueprint and deed for the Shop. He walks around the counter, slowly running his hand along its surface, leaving four trails in the dust where his fingers passed. The Umbreon leaps off of the figure's shoulder onto the counter, sliding on all the dust and falling off the other side. "...Graceful." A slight sound from the darkness amongst the shelves sets the figure on his guard, his free hand drawing back his trenchcoat to reveal an elaborate, gleaming sai. The Umbreon, with grey streaks on its fur from sliding in the dust, leaps back onto the counter and growls. From the deep black of the abandoned Shop, a voice emerges. "Here already?" The figure slowly turns, his posture becoming more relaxed, allowing the trenchcoat to cover the metallic weapon once again. On the counter, a sudden brilliant light emerges from the Umbreon's golden rings, bathing the Shop in a slightly yellowish light. The stranger that spoke from the darkness can now be seen standing in between the empty shelves, wearing a Pojo jersey, with a large katana hung from his back. "'Tashi?" Satoshi: "I just didn't think you'd be here so quickly, Bondi. I was just gathering some...last minute things." A loud crash, followed by deep-throated grumbling from the storage room sets Bondi on edge once again, quickly unsheathing a sai. From the doorway emerges Satoshi's Blastoise, which takes one look at Bondi, shrugs, and walks over to 'Tashi. Blastoise: "I STILL CAN'T FIND MY CHEWY-TOY!" Slapping his forehead in exasperation, Satoshi grumbles incoherently under his breath. BondiBorg: *Blinks* "...I'm not going to ask. Anyway, it's good to see you again. I guess you didn't get killed by that crazed herd of giant pygmy llamas over in Mongolia, then?" With a small nod towards the sword slung across his back, Satoshi shrugs. "Not only were they not a problem, but they tasted rather like chicken." A knock at the entrance to the darkened shop attracts the attention of all four residents, as Bondi's first customer stands at the door. Looking nervously from Bondi's face down to his hand, which still holds a sai, the customer slowly walks into the Shop... ----- Hi! I've been out of the game for some time now, and I used to play this slowking deck, and I was wondering if you could maybe update it! Thanks! Green Glowy Stuff Pokemon x14 Slowbro x3 Slowking x3 Cleffa x3 Murkrow x3 Sneasel x1 Chansey x1 Trainers x30 Professor Elm x4 Computer Search x3 Item Finder x3 Bill x3 Switch x3 Gust of Wind x3 Gold Berry x3 Ecogym x2 Chaos Gym x2 Energy x16 Rainbow x4 Darkness x4 Double Colorless x4 Recycle x4 It's your basic slowking, but I'm not sure if it'll work in today's environment. Thanks a ton! -Fatality ----- BondiBorg: "If I may have a minute, 'Tashi..." ----- Let's begin with the Pokémon. Thanks, by the way, for seperating the different kinds of cards into groups and including amounts for them. ^_^ In a Slowking deck, you want as many chances to get Slowking out as possible, so a 4/4 on the line is absolutely necessary. To make room, take out the Chansey, which is most commonly just bait for Tyrogue nowadays. Toss one Murkrow, you probably won't have more than two out at a time anyway. {Pokémon}{14} {4} Slowpoke {4} Slowking {3} Cleffa {2} Murkrow {1} Sneasel You've got a good start on the Trainers, but there's definately work to be done. Also, you've only got 26 Trainers, instead of the listed 30...that's fine, though, we can use the space. Professor Elm is, sadly, just plain too slow for Unlimited. Not being able to play Trainers until next turn will keep you from playing that vital Super Energy Removal or Gust of Wind that would win you the game. For this reason, change all the Elms to Professor Oak. If you need a new hand fast, then Oak. Item Finder will make up for any Trainers you discard, and in a minute I'll add a Town Volunteers, which lets you retrieve 5 Pokémon (also Basic Energy, but your deck doesn't have any). While we're messing with the Professor Oaks, let's go ahead and take one out for another Computer Search, it's okay to run three Oaks; if you play all four of them, chances are that you'll deck out. I, personally, always put only three in my deck as a self-imposed limit. Next, let's take out all three Bill (Oak is more effective, and Computer Search is more direct) for 3 Lass. Using Lass, then Eeeeeeeking on first turn will literally win some games for you by drastically stunting the opponent's progress. Switch the Gold Berries out for Focus Bands; except Slowking, which will be on the bench, none of your Pokémon have over 60 HP. Focus will be much more effective at saving your critters. Take out a Switch for a 4th Item Finder, then both Chaos Gyms can go for a Sprout Tower and a Town Volunteers. Lose a Gust (and we'll go ahead and use those extra four spaces) for 2 Energy Charge to get back your Darkness, and 3 Rocket Sneak Attack, which keeps your opponent from keeping any good Trainers in their hands. Finally, one thing I notice is certainly lacking is the pride and joy of Unlimited...Super Energy Removal and Energy Removal! ^_^ I run a 3/2 line on those in most cases, so add in 3 Super Energy Removal and 2 Energy Removal, we'll take out some Energy to provide five spaces in just a minute. {Trainers}{35} {4} Computer Search {4} Item Finder {3} Professor Oak {3} Lass {3} Rocket Sneak Attack {3} Focus Band {3} Super Energy Removal {2} Energy Removal {2} Energy Charge {2} Switch {2} Gust of Wind {2} Ecogym {1} Sprout Tower {1} Town Volunteers Finally, the Energy. Double Colorless is no longer needed, so ditch those and a Rainbow. Final Decklist: {Pokémon}{14} {4} Slowpoke {4} Slowking {3} Cleffa {2} Murkrow {1} Sneasel {Trainers}{35} {4} Computer Search {4} Item Finder {3} Professor Oak {3} Lass {3} Rocket Sneak Attack {3} Focus Band {3} Super Energy Removal {2} Energy Removal {2} Energy Charge {2} Switch {2} Gust of Wind {2} Ecogym {1} Sprout Tower {1} Town Volunteers {Energy}{11} {4} Darkness {4} Recycle {3} Rainbow Good Luck! ----- Satoshi: "I have to say, I had been worried when I saw the 'Under New Management' sign go up. Good to see that the Shop rests in capable hands, though. Good luck, Bondi." Blastoise and Satoshi walk out of the store after the customer, leaving Bondi alone in his new surroundings, Umbreon having stalked off to explore the storage room. Perhaps this would be interesting, after all...
