*ding ding!*
SATOSHI: Mmmmkay...you guys are not gonna let up on this, are you? Well,
fine with me. Lemme just say one thing: in a past article when I said the
digimon neeeded to be energized, I was mistaken. This is soemthing I
mis-interpreted from the comercial. The comercial does say "power up!" I
took this the wrong way. Sue me...umm...on second thought, DON'T sue me ;)
Anyway, This debate was recently brought up in Spike's garage. He did bow
out of the argument, and perhaps I should too. But I need to say one more
thing.
Yes, there have always been copies of good products, be it TV shows, food,
or card games. But, you know what? These copies alaways lack something. They
always scream "rip-off!" This is why they usually play second fiddle to the
things they copied. Example time!

Case in point: Power Rangers
Copied shows: VR Troopers, Big Bad Beetle Borgs
End Conclusion: Both copied shows(VR Troopers, Beetle Borgs) are, as of
today, CANCELLED. Power Rangers, however, is still going strong.

See? This is what happens to most of the copied shows, products, etc. True,
Digimon has enough originallity to go on its own, but the card game
packaging might as well read "Digimon's Attempt To Leech Off Of The Pokemon
TCG's Popularity In The U.S. of A." Im my opinion, they would have done much
better holding the American debut of the Digimon TCG off for a few months,
instead of releasing it in the midst of the Pokemon craze.
Oh, and one more thing. I HAVE tried the Digimon Card Game. Some people, I
fear, my be thinking that I have not tried it. I HAVE. I stinks. They could
at least try to make it follow the Digivolivng paths of the show...instead,
we have Agumon Digivolvng in to oodles and oodles of characters, when on the
show, we have seen him digivole ONLY into Greymon. The same goes for
Gabumon, Tentomon, Biomon, Padamon, Palmon, and Gomamon. Oh, and Gatomon.
Well, I figure that should show all you non-believers that I have some
knowledege of the show and the story. I really have nothing against the show
and product line itself, but I believe they would have done fine if they had
NOT been released with Pokemon.
TRIVIA: Digimon toys appreared in America a year before Pokemon did.
(did anyone talk about them then? NO. But as soon as Pokemon came arcoss
the Pacific...)

SATOSHI: That's all for now!! Good Luck and Happy Gaming!!
