Heya there M. I remember you. As for your deck I have a few suggestions for you. If you are going to run families that have stage II evolutions, you should almost always have at least 2, if not 3 Pokemon Breeders in your deck. Some people will claim that you should have 4. I am going to suggest you add 3--just to help speed your deck up a bit.

Now, you've got 1 Alakazam, 1 Mr. Mime, and 1 Scyther. Scyther and Mime are such great Pokemon, I would hate to have to remove either of them, but honestly, with your Abra and Nidoking and Dodrio family you're already running 20 and that's 1/3 of your deck. Take out the Mime and the Scyther, and add an Alakazam. Now, I would like to see you drop your Nidoran line down to a 3-2-2 evolution set.

Let's look at those trainers. I consider Potion to be a very ineffective trainer. By the time you need the potion, your Pokemon is most likely to be dead. Take out the Potions and put in something like Mr. Fuji or Scoop Up. Now, this deck desperately needs some drawing power... You've got to be able to get to those evolution cards and energies that you will need. I want you to add 3 Bills and 2 Oaks, as well as 3 Pokemon Trader. The Oaks and Bills will let you manipulate your deck to find energies, evolutions etc. and the Traders will let you switch the Nidoran Male in your hand for the Alakazam in your deck. Take out the Pokeballs. I know that your brother =) can probably get you the good stuff. Don't settle for Pokeball--the "poor man's Poke Trader."

Where are we at now? You have 19 Pokemon and 17 Trainers. You have 2 Alakazam that take 3 Psychic, so there you need 6 Psychic. 2 Dodrio that take 3 colorless, so you need 6 colorless. Nidoking takes 3 grass for Toxic, and Nidorino takes 2 Grass, 2 Colorless for Horn drill... so you really need 6 Grass and 2 Colorless for your Nidorino/Nidoking. You've got a total energy need of 20. I suggest you add 4 DCE. Nidorino can use it, Dodrio can use it, and if you ever need to retreat... well, you can use it. You've filled the colorless energy requirement for this deck, so now you need 6 Psychic and 10 Grass. Now that you've filled your minimum energy requirement we can see where we stand. You've 19 Pokemon, and 17 Trainers with 20 energy to power them. Hmm... 56 cards. Let's add back in that Mr. Mime and actually add 1. Now, add 2 more Psychic energy to help cover the energy costs and you have 60 cards.

I've made some significant changes to this deck... you're going to have to take some time playing with it to get used to the changes. I know your brothers would probably play you... and this would be a fun one to take to league. I want you to do well. ;) Play it with your brothers, play it on apprentice, take it to leagues and stuff and let me know how it works for you. Once you've played it a while, we can fine tune it some more. Good luck, M! ~ TPL
