Welcome to the jungle...I mean it. My secretary, who can type 70 words
a minute if you don't count spelling, has decided that my office needs some
sprucing up. As a result, she's gone out and purchased more than several
potted plants, hanging ferns, aquatic fish tank plants, flower bouquets and
almost every other flora on the free market. It creates kind of an effect
that I would describe as "very very green".
I guess it's okay. I'm breathing better than ever. But the venus
flytrap keeps leering at me in a disturbing way. I swear I've seen it lick
its chlorophyll colored lips at me a couple times. At least it takes care of
the bugs that the other plants seem to be attracting.

So grab a machete, make your way into my office; the indian guide
will show you the way, and don't let the birds flying into the windows
startle you.
       Now what's the problem today??

This is a pretty cool deck. I have one that is very similar and it's
only lost twice out of about 50 some odd matches. So I'll state for the
record that this is a potent combination. Not that mine, nor yours is
perfect. There's always room for improvement, and I do see some room in your
deck. Let's get to it.

You definitely have a good mix of creatures. There's very little
problem there. Unfortunately the numbers are rather low. This deck obviously
rotates around the Alakazam-Damage Swap and Venusaur-Energy Trans powers.
But having just one of each of those creatures is dangerous. If one is
buried in the prize pile, you get shafted until you manage to scrape
together a knockout. So I'd carry at least 2 of each of the Alakazam and
Venusaur.
Which brings me to the next problem. The Gengar lineup is very
impressive, and full of possibilities. Energy retrieval, invulnerability,
damage rearrangment; it's all there. But squeezing it into this deck, even
though it opens up a lot more combo power, really reduces the number of
backup Pokemon and Trainers you can include. It would be great to include
them all, but sometimes you just gotta give a little to get a lot more.
Honestly, I'd put the Gengar and family aside. It will hurt, but you'll be
able to do other things.
Mr. Mime and Exeggutor both fit very well into this deck. I'd
leave them in and just tweak the numbers a bit.
Chansey is also very good as a wall. I really wouldn't load it up
with Energy though. Save the D.C.E.'s for Exeggutor.

Hey- I see those roots creeping in here!! Don't think I'm not
onto you and your carnivoric ways. You may have my secretary charmed into
thinking you're the very model of vegetable sainthood, but you don't fool
me. You want human food?? Eat the night janitor. He stops off at Burger King
before work each night. I'll bet he's real tasty.    . . .Stupid flytrap.
Gotta show them who's boss, you do.

Ok...Yes. As with your Trainers, you once again have the cards
right, but the numbers wrong. Focus on card drawing power, with Trainers
that support your combos as a secondary.
You'll want to load up on the Pokemon Breeders. They really work
well in this type of deck.
Also put in a couple Pokemon Centers. This card is just too
good to pass up in this deck. It was probably made for this kind of deck.
That's how well it fits. Rearrange the damage onto a Chansey or Exeggutor,
move all or most of the Energy off with Venusaur and heal with the Pokemon
Center. If timed well, you can get amazing results with very little Energy
loss. In my deck it's been known to put the nail in the coffin for my
opponent.

Here is what...does it seem really warm and moist in here? Wait
a second...

(From next room) No I don't hate plants. I'm not a plant hater! Look, I'm
sweating like mad in there. Turn that humidifier off, please. No, I really
don't care about Amazon rain basins or whatever. I do care about B.O.
though. Lower the thermostat and put the humidifier back in the closet.
And don't grin at me like that you dumb flytrap!!

All right. Never a normal work day around here, that's for sure.
Well let's look at at how I would revise your deck to work better.

           3 Bulbasaurs
           2 Venusaurs
           3 Abras
           2 Alakazams
           3 Exeggcutes
           2 Exeggutors
           3 Mr. Mimes
           2 Chanseys

           4 Bills
           2 Professor Oaks
           4 Pokemon Breeders
           2 Pokemon Centers
           1 Computer Search
           1 Item Finder
           2 Gusts of Wind

           10 Psychic Energy
           10 Grass Energy
           4 Double Colorless Energy

This is a variation on my deck, but, to be honest, I think this is
probably the better version. I take a few liberties and creative risks with
my deck, but that's only because I've had it so long I had to do something
so that I wouldn't become bored with it.
Once you're more comfortable with this, go ahead and experiment.
There's a lot that can be done, especially with the combo potential.
The one problem you'll face is that annoying Muk card. But no deck
can cover all the bases. It flows quick enough to keep head to head with
most Haymakers, and the Energy Trans power minimizes the damage done by
Energy Removals. Raindance has some trouble dealing with the Mr. Mimes and
damage reduction. And Electric decks just seem to move too slow to compete.
Hope this helps you out in time for the tournament. If I'm late, I
apologize. I get a lot of appointments and have to squeeze them all in. But
there will be more tourneys, right?

You can give the Jungle Queen out there the payment for my
services. Try not to get too close, I think she's been hypnotized by evil
plant spores or something. She's wearing green eyeshadow and lipstick now.
Don't worry about me. I'll just stay in here and maybe sing some
show tunes from Little Shop of Horrors, and later on eat my belt for
survival.
If I'm lucky maybe Stanley will rescue me. Tell my family I love
them.

                       Good luck,
                        Dr. Crash Landon
