Hey folks. Remember me? You know, funny thing about life - it seems to take up so much time. ;) In all seriousness, there's no excusing my being away from the shop for so long. But a really demanding school schedule, combined with friends, drama, etc, seems to have done just that - kept me away. But fear not; I've got a few three-day weekends coming up (bless you, National Holidays!), so things will be picking back up around here. Let's take a look at the newest fixer-uper here at Satoshi's Shop: >>>> Hey Satoshi!! I have played pokemon for a while but have never tried the mmf format so i decided to build one!! Pokemon -(18)- Cleffa (Genesis) - 3 Tyrogue (Discovery)- 2 Beedrill (Discovery)- 3 Kakuna - (Discovery)2 Weedle - (Discovery)4 Pichu - (Genesis)1 Wooper - (Genesis)2 Elekid - (Genesis)1 Trainers -(27)- Professor Elm (Genesis) - 4 Double Gust (Genesis) - 4 Gold Berry (Genesis) - 4 Healing Fields (Revelation) - 2 Time Capsule (Genesis) - 1 Pokemon Trader (Legendary) - 3 Pokemon Breeder (Legendary) - 2 Focus Band (Genesis) - 3 Bill (Legendary) - 3 Pokemon Center (Legendary) - 1 Energy -(15)- Grass - 15 The basic strategy is to get Beedrill out as soon as possible and start Triple Poisoning as soon as possible. The Wooper is there in case I am playing Cargo. Almost all my pokemon have no retreat cost so i can just retreat for healing fields. Pokemon center is there when I really need a healthy Beedrill. I feel i need 4 gust because i can keep on poisoning the same pokemon. By the way, this deck is called "Sting". Thanks! >>>> Ahhh! It burrrnssss uss! It killsss ussss, master! My precioussss! ...sorry, I saw the word "Sting" and got carried away. ;x Pokemon -(18)- Cleffa (Genesis) - 3 Tyrogue (Discovery)- 2 Beedrill (Discovery)- 3 Kakuna - (Discovery)2 Weedle - (Discovery)4 Pichu - (Genesis)1 Wooper - (Genesis)2 Elekid - (Genesis)1 Hmm. Well, first thing we're going to do is knock out the one Elekid in favor of a fourth Cleffa - four Cleffa is an m-u-s-t MUST nowadays, especially in Modified. Next, let's go ahead and drop the Wooper for another Pichu and a fourth Beedrill. With the absence of Slowking in MF (See? I kept up with rulings and such! ;x), Entei/Cargo will be making a second coming. Pichu makes Entei/Cargo weep. Sometimes. Nonetheless, keep him in here. He allows you to smack around PokéPower-carrying baddies without packing Muk, which in turn gets smacked by Pichu. Everything else is just dandy. :D Pokémon (18) 4 Cleffa 4 Weedle 2 Kakuna 4 Beedrill 2 Pichu 2 Tyrogue Nifty. Trainers now. ;) Trainers -(27)- Professor Elm (Genesis) - 4 Double Gust (Genesis) - 4 Gold Berry (Genesis) - 4 Healing Fields (Revelation) - 2 Time Capsule (Genesis) - 1 Pokemon Trader (Legendary) - 3 Pokemon Breeder (Legendary) - 2 Focus Band (Genesis) - 3 Bill (Legendary) - 3 Pokemon Center (Legendary) - 1 Hmmm...well, first let's re-vamp this deck with a little bit of Expedition godly-ness. Drop the Time Capsule and Bill for four Copycat, one of the best Supporters out there. Learn to love it. =P Next, I see you're trying to do something rather interesting with the Pokémon Center. If you idea is to simply Tripple Poison with Beedrill, then Center would be a nice touch, so let's add more. Drop two Focus Band for two Pokémon Center. Next...yow. Four Gold Berry is a tad bit overdoing it, don't you think? Let's drop one in favor of a single Professor Oak's Research. Yes, that makes five supporters in this deck, but look at most MF decks and you'll find them running more than four. Professor Oak's Research is a semi-favorite of mine for the sole reason of not having to rely on your opponent's hand size to draw. Plus, it's a nice get-me-out-of-this-pinch card. Trainers (27) 4 Professor Elm 4 Copycat 4 Double Gust 3 Gold Berry 3 Pokémon Trader 3 Pokémon Center 2 Pokémon Breeder 2 Healing Fields 1 Focus Band 1 Professor Oak's Research The Energy is fine. Don't mess with it. ^_^ Put it all together and what do you have...? Pokémon (18) 4 Cleffa 4 Weedle 2 Kakuna 4 Beedrill 2 Pichu 2 Tyrogue Trainers (27) 4 Professor Elm 4 Copycat 4 Double Gust 3 Gold Berry 3 Pokémon Trader 3 Pokémon Center 2 Pokémon Breeder 2 Healing Fields 1 Focus Band 1 Professor Oak's Research Energy (15) 15 Grass Energy Keep in mind that this deck design in pre-Aquapolis teching, as I've yet to get a real good idea of what the hotter cards out of Aquapolis do. So sue me. ;\ Take a look at the set and see what looks like it'll work for you. Good luck and happy gaming, folks!
