Deck Builder: heartbad@sympatico.ca
Deck Name:  FLASH!

Strategy: My deck really doesn't have one strategy, rather a bunch of little strategies that are very effective. The problem is that I'm always placing top ten. I won once only because I got very lucky in my opening hand.

Well, then, Heartbad, your strategy needs to be the place to start! Perhaps if you developed a more uniform, more reliable strategy you would finish in the top 3, as opposed to just the top 10.

3 Gastly <b>
2 Haunter <1b/1f>
1 Gengar

1 Snorlax

1 Wigglytuff
2 Jigglypuff

1 Raichu <f>
2 Pikachu <pkmn league promo>

Ok. From what I see here, you have the beginnings of a Psychic/Electric deck here. Now, let's see what families you have already invested in. Obviously, you've the Alakazam family, which you could pump up to a 3-2-2 ratio.

Now, remove Electrode and Voltorb. They don't do you any particular good in this deck, aside from taking up space and confusing an already muddied strategy.

Now, you've taken the time to invest in the Gengar family here. My suggestion is to switch both the Haunters to be Fossil Haunters. That way you can use the Transparency special to avoid damage.

Now, you've a decision to make. You can remove both the Mime and the Snorlax, you can remove one and pump up the other, or you can pump up both. Both have their benefits, so I suggest you add one each of Mime and Snorlax. Swap some of that damage up onto Snorlax.

I understand why you have Wigglytuff and Jigglypuff  in here, but they don't do you a whole lot of good. Remove them.

Finally, add at least 1 Raichu and 1 Pikachu (any type of Pikachu is fine.)

Now, you actually have a few less Pokèmon than you did before, but there are more reliable families now. Yes, you now have more Psychic Pokèmon than electric Pokèmon, but you had more Psychic Pokèmon than Electric Pokèmon anyway.

Phew. This is one of those "challenging fixes" that I often speak of. Continue on to see what I did to your trainers.

Trainers

2 Pokèmon Trader
1 Scoop Up
2 Bill
2 Energy Removal
2 Gust of Wind
2 Energy Removal
0 Mr. Fuji

Ok. I usually say that you need 2 Oaks (or Gambler), 2 Switch, 2 Gust of Wind, and 2 Bill in every deck -- at least at the beginning. Once you've played your deck and seen what works and what doesn't, you might opt to change some of them.

Right now your trainers are basically all right, but you might think of adding one more Scoop up and a couple Mr. Fuji. Why? Scoop up allow you to deny your opponent a prize, and Fuji does the same but saves your energies/evolutions.

Energy

16 Psychic
10 Electric

Ok. We need to make room for those Fuji's. Remove 2 psychic energies to do this. What you will need to do is TEST this idea. I'm not absolutely certain that you will have enough energy if you remove them.

So. Your new deck looks like this: Let me know how it works for you. ~TPL
