Hey, we have another early Majestic Dawn card, Darkrai!

Name:   Darkrai Lv. 48

Set:   Majestic Dawn

Rarity:   Rare Holo

Analysis: OK, this card is awesome because of the picture. 80 HP is good for Darkrai, but the retreat cost of 2 is pricey. Dark Slumber is a horrible attack, and Dark Resolve is only slightly better. Its Poke-Power, Darkness Shade, is the reason to play this card in place of other Darkrai. It can also combo well with Dream Eater Pokemon or others that benefit from having the Defending Pokemon asleep. This can make it easy for you to pull off 80 damage with the other form of Darkrai. But Wigglytuff/Syndey's Stadium allows you to do that every turn.

Modified: Not too great. Doesn't get a 1 because of the picture. (2/5)

Limited: Could be good here. Gives you insurance with the auto sleep, and the attacks are decent for modified. (3.5/5)

Darkrai Lv.48 MD

Mornin’ tafbfvaubgvisbnnnnnnnnnn... Oops, fell asleep on the keyboard… Anyway, today’s COTD today is the new Darkrai from the MD set. I think I see this card as being played 2 and 2 with the other Darkrai, the one that does 80 if the defending pokemon is asleep… *Yawn* But then I remembered that the biggest reason people play Darkrai is for the Lv.X. And having a 1-1-2 of Darkrai won’t help anyone. The power is great, auto sleep for the defending pokemon, that could not only leave your opponent unable to attack, but combos with the other Darkrai to do 80 damage. *Yawn* The first attack is decent, but doesn’t have any use by itself, puts the defending pokemon asleep AFTER your opponent’s turn. As I said before, it would only work with the other Darkrai really. Dark resolve stinks, period, there is nothing that great about healing 40 damage on a 80 HP pokemon…

Pros –

Nice poke-power *Yawn*

Cons –

Attacks could be better

Only combos with other Darkrai

2 much retreat cost

Modified – Could annoy your opponent but couldn’t do much else… 2/5

Limited – Auto sleep is good, but all (D) requiring attacks are bad… 3/5

I wonder; if I played Darkrai right before I went to bed would I fall asleep any faster?

When do they learn to make playable legends? Darkrai is not bad but not good enough to justify playing if you want to play darkrai lv x this is ok especially its somewhat usefull power sets it apart from the other darkrais. Also healing can be usefull (if youre koing anyway)
