Lunatone

Modified - Solrock and Lunatone are most commonly found in Banette decks, since they need a Banette in the discard pile at all times for Banette to do 80 damage. The power is great, since you can discard a useless card from your hand so you won't draw it again. Then if you have Solrock in play, you draw a card. Knock Over is decent, 20 damage and a stadium discard for 1 energy. If you're in a bind and really need to discard the opponent's crystal beach, you can Knock it Over. 3/5

Limited - COLORLESS attack that does 20 damage. Combos with Solrock to quickly go through your deck. 4/5

(04/03/08) - Lunatone

Name: Lunatone Lv. 31
Set: Great Encounters
Rarity: Common

Analysis: OK, seriously, all I have to say is that I Turn 1 donked someone with this guy, no trainers needed. I lost the die roll and had to start first, which ended up being Lunatone vs. a 40 HP Skitty.

Anyway, Lunatone is great because it, like Solrock, has an attack that does 20 damage for 1 energy (this one is colorless!!). the attack also discards any stadium card in play (you can choose whether to do it, which makes it even more valuable. 'Gravity Change', allows you to discard a card from your hand in order to draw another. This is good with Solrock, because if you discard an energy, you can just bring it back into play with Solrock's attack. So it is draw power and an energy accelerator. The only complaints from me are the 60 HP and weakness to Psychic.

Modified: Great combo with Solrock. (4/5)

Limited: Draw Power with Solrock, or a nice cheap attack which can get rid of Moonlight Stadium forever. (4/5)

It’s Thursday everyone. Today’s COTD today is Lunatone, and goes great with yesterday’s COTD. The power is simple, with or without Solrock you can discard a card from your hand (Great for Banette!) Then if you have Solrock you can draw a card. It’s just shifting through the cards in your deck. The draw is OK, but it’s the discard you really want. Have an active Banette and discard the Banette in your hand then do 80. Add in Nidoqueen delta and you can have a Banette in the discard every turn!

Pros –
Discards a card from your hand
Lets you use Solrock

Cons –
Takes up bench space
Only good in Banette (Or to let Solrock use its power.)

Modified – Nice support, they need more cards like this. 4/5

Limited – Without Solrock this card can still do 20 for (C)! 4/5

Have you played SSBB yet? If not, I feel sorry for you…

Lunatone

Fast and efficient combos well with solrock as it can put the energies solrock needs in the trash for it to grab. Solrock is the better attacker but lunatones attack is a very good bonus. It can remove stadiums in an emergency and can take out the last bit of big treats that you do not want to waste a real treat on.  Very efficient at what it does. Of course needs a deck build to use it as it does nothing on its own.
